When one door opens another one closes. over at Art Journal Journey
I am sure every living creature will have a entrance or doorway as we do
to their place of comfort and safety.
The birds are waiting and I'm sure
the folk inside the tree house are all prepared for the family to get home.
Stay safe everyone .
Snowflakes.....

Make it magical.....
All she wanted was to wear a pretty dress
and have a new hair style.
She was granted one wish by a little elf sitting among some magic mushrooms
'magic' was in the air and her dream came true.
This is how the pages began...
I had used a variety of older stamps from my stash for this spread some time ago,
it was left on the shelf,. I wasn't sure I liked the colour or it had to much going on
even before I added some digital images..[notes in my sidebar]
WE do hope you will join us at TioT's this time, please call over to see how we
interpreted this theme.
Its all about Time....
and a new theme for the next two weeks over at Try it on Tuesdays.
Please call over to see how we all interpreted this topic and to see the journal pages our
Guest Designer Beubeard and Elizabeth has created to inspired us.
A layered digital journal page from me and as many of my friends know I am a tea drinker. The kettle is always ready to be switched on and the tea bags to hand, no matter what time of the day .
I think I have a guardian tea fairy lurking in my cupboard as she she has been working overtime in the recent months in my home.
We are looking forward to seeing how you all interpret the theme and hope you will have fun and join us at TioT's.
However you spend your day,
I hope it will be a good one for you.
A new theme begins today over at Try it on Tuesdays
'Use Book Pages'.
An page torn from an old book which I purchased some time ago in a Charity shop
was the starting point for this journal page.
The edges of the pages had torn and they discoloured naturally over time. I didn't even have to shade the edges simply paste it down into my Kraft journal. I did however take a short cut and add the flowers and jar from the digital computer program I use
We hope you will join us at TioT's.
Please pop over to find all the details and see how the TioT gang

I chose to create a journal page as the title of this new theme had me thinking of childhood, when remembered summer days were always warm and sunny. Playing at my grandparents house with my cousin and picking flowers that maybe we shouldn't be doing when there were so many pretty wild flowers just over the fence.
I used a hands on journal page as my starting point, with texture paste, stencils, die cuts, found relatives [TH] and a piece of a torn napkin. The additional flowers and dogs were added in the computer program I use.
[notes in my sidebar]
Thank you for calling in
you are very welcome here.

With restrictions, visiting other countries isn't allowed in many parts of the world, so my page represents a hope that if your destination of choice is to somewhere hot to see the animals in the wild. you will enjoy the adventure and the journey when we are free to travel again.
My digital journal page began with a hands on page
using a stamped image of a mother and her baby elephants...layers including paper and material scraps
I created the page with the giraffes
in the digital computer program I use
Thank you for calling in to see me.
Stay safe everyone
Its July and we have a new theme over at Art Journal Journey
hosted by......Alison from Words and Pictures.
Please call over to AJJ to see how Alison has inspired us
and to read all the information she is sharing for the theme.
I am sharing another made over journal page using a photo taken among the apple trees at the top of my garden. A fussy cut stamped bird and a die cut or two, and some computer generated leaves in the foreground which covered most of the die cut branches.
One of the joys of a local country walk was for me.... to hear the birds singing and see the bushes and trees with all their abundant foliage and if we were lucky to see the deer in the distance..
These days a trip to the countryside isn't possible for many folk due to restrictions, I am lucky to live close to woodland but don't get to walk there now, the uneven ground is a hazard for me I'll stay with my memories of many happy walks in the countryside and enjoy a few walks with my sons when they are able to be with me.
We hope you will join us over at Art Journal Journey and look forward to seeing your journal pages following Alison's theme.
Nearly the end of June and a last journal page from me for
Mia's theme over at Art Journal Journey
This is how the mixed media page began in my journal, some time ago I have to admit.
You can see its had a bit of a make over using my computer and had some pretty butterflies added.
All my good intentions to try to do more crafting these past few weeks hasn't happened, I'll be positive and hope it will pass and I will get round creating again soon and visiting you all
on your blogs.
Stay safe everyone
Here Comes Summer....
is the theme for the next two weeks over at
Please call over to TioT's to get all the information and see how we have been
interpreting this theme, we hope you will join us there.
Enjoying the sunshine down by the sea
for many over the years has been a wonderful way to spend a warm summer day.
I think the ladies in the vintage swimwear on this digital journal page would love to be wearing what the two modern girls are wearing.
I'm sure they will all have had fun in the sun.
\Thank you for calling in here, I hope you all are safe and well.
The new challenge theme over at Try It on Tuesdays is.....
'For the Man in Your life.'
It could be a Birthday, Fathers Day, Retirement, New Baby Boy et.. etc.
Please pop over to see how we all interpreted the theme.
I made a masculine card that could be suitable [I think] for a few occasions.
The background is embossed and layered onto a plain white card. The main image [ I think its a TH stamp, I never keep the packaging] is on a lightly stamped background.
One of my sons had a cycling holiday planned for 2020 and because of the pandemic situation
it was moved to this year, it is on hold and will be for quite a time longer.
Another friend's son was going to have a year out and go travelling, also on hold.
I've heard of many other plans that have been stopped over the past months.
Birthdays celebrated without friend or family close by,
this list could be very long
So I hope this card will appeal to many and that you know that one day we may be free to meet freely with each other and go out to explore again..
Thank you for calling in to see me today, your visit is always appreciated.
Stay safe.
June
and a new theme for the month
'Butterflies'
chosen for us by Mia from Craftartista
our Host for this month over at Art Journal Journey
Please pop over to AJJ to read the details and to see Mia's inspiration page for her theme.
Butterflies are lovely to see in our gardens at this time of the year,
they are not as colourful here in the UK
as the ones I added digitally to my journal page,
but they look so delicate and magical as they flutter round the flowers.
This is how the page started before the butterflies were added.
A second print from a stencil, a really old script stamp and finally a piece torn from the corner of a floral napkin .
Thank you for calling in to see me today and I hope you will join us at AJJ this month.
Stay safe.
The new challenge theme over at Try it on Tuesdays is.......
Butterflies
I have made a layered card using a single stamped image , with a fussy cut butterfly,
which was stamped onto acetate and coloured green.
The base cards are white, the image layered onto pale green but its been so dull and wet here these past few days its been hard to get a good photo.
We hope you will join us , please call in and see the inspiration from the TioT team.
As always what you create is up to yourselves, as long as you use the chosen theme.
Thank you for calling in to see me, my blog is sadly a bit neglected these days, but I
hope to get myself together and spend some time crafting soon.
Stay safe. everyone.
Make it Feminine ....
is the new theme over at Try it on Tuesdays
We hope you will join us there
and please call over to see how we interpreted this topic.
I've gone to Paris for this page, well the background was already started,
with a few random stamp images and words.
Its an old fussy cut recycled image of the pretty gal, maybe she is one of the dancers
from the Folies Bergere wearing a dress like this.
I added more glitter to the image for a bit more glamour and sparkle.
I am adding this page to the current theme
at Art Journal Journey hosted by Elle at Empire of the cat. the theme is.....Language
and as you can see I have used the French language on this page. France was a country my family always enjoyed visiting in our caravan. Using basic school French we soon expanded our vocabulary over the years.
Thank you for stopping by to see me here.
Stay safe and keep well
May
and a new theme over at Art Journal Journey.
Our host this month is Elle from Empire of the Cat and the theme she has chosen is......
'Language.'
Please call over to AJJ to read the details and see Elle's inspiration for her theme.
Language
and words are something I do not take for granted.
It can change how we feel, communicate with other people, how we interpret what we see,
instruct, educate, even escape to a private world of fantasy and dreams
My journal page started out with torn book pages, lots of green mop up paint and a flower image.
Next came the flower fairies you will have guessed I'm now using my computer digital program.
Next I added the words, the language that could explain what I was thinking about as I created the page.
Was it a world of make believe with fairies at the bottom of the garden or was it going out into the garden to do a tidy up, or, was it to pick up the book I am currently reading. Adding language to a page even just one word changes what we see.
As its a cold day
I think the book will win.
Thank you for calling in today, stay safe and keep well.

Inspired by a Song...
is the new challenge theme over at Try it on Tuesdays.
We hope you will join us there,
please pop over to see which songs we all chose for inspiration.
The song I chose for my inspiration was....
We are family---- by Sister Sledge.
Families- sisters, brothers, cousins........
have not been able to get together for many months but imagine the joy
and fun that they will be able to have when the restrictions
we are all living with just now are raised.
My digital journal page relates to a few of the cousins dancing with joy
to the beat of the music, while maybe their parents are sitting watching, talking,
glad to be in each others company again.
Happier, carefree days that hopefully will return soon
.I will also link this page to Art Journal Journey
Stay safe and keep well.
Inspired by.....
is the theme for April over at Art Journal Journey
This theme was chosen for us by Eileen from the Artful Crafter, sadly Eileen
didn't make it after heart surgery and passed away last month.. In her memory we are
using the theme she chose for us, with Erika and Chris hosting.
This has been a hard journal page for me to complete. The theme wasn't the problem, it was my thoughts going off sideways. knowing how her family and friends must be feeling .
The inspiration for my page came from a session in the garden. My eldest son had fun with a tree saw and cleared some large branches and I got started in the greenhouse tackling the vine that decided it was taking over the whole space. It was good to get out in the fresh air, I had a few smiles as I remembered my sons as youngsters going out and bringing me in bunches of flowers as well as weeds that had to be given pride of place in a pot on the window ledge.
Once again my journal page was completed in the digital program I use. It started off with paper scraps, paint and embossed stencil layers.
I hope you will join us at AJJ we all look forward to seeing what inspired you.
Take care and stay safe.
