Cappuccino or tea ?

Yippee , the next stage of our journey  to meet the friends and family,

 has brought us to a caravan site  at Cambridge that has got internet connection.

I created this digital page for the Cheeky Challenge at

Dezinaworld

where this weeks theme is..... Alice in Wonderland.

 I am also  taking advantage,

to say hello and share an afternoon cuppa

with friends at Elizabeth  and Bleubeard's

Meg our old Border collie doesn't walk far these days but just out of the site entrance  is...

In fact we are staying on  what used to be a quarry.

 The chalk was the whitest I've ever seen on a cliff side.

It looks barren and we were the only folk there, until we completed the walk and were leaving.

Back home....

 and time to get the kettle on.

This page sure looks mad to me. I think I should have stopped myself adding images,

and layers after the quirky houses

 but the Song   'Our House', sung by Madness,
 just wanted me to add this odd, mad collection of images.
 Can you just picture  this bunch walking around  where you live.

 it would make the day interesting to say the least.

Childhood Memories

This weeks challenge theme over at June's Dezinaworld is.....

.......Childhood Memories

I'm sure many of us made wishes when we were young, maybe some of them came true.

I have happy memories of my childhood and I hope you do too.
We lived with my grandparents in a large old  house with a garden that went down to the river.

I used a page from  my journal as a base for this digital page

It is  kraft paper and I had used a stencil and texture paste .

I try to take photos [if I remember] of my basic layer, very handy to use  as a base for  the digital pages.

 I altered colours added images,  mainly from Dezinaworld, this little girl looks so sweet, sitting and perhaps day dreaming.

Other sources were Mischief Circus and my own stored ones.

A whiter shade of pale.

The Cheeky Challenge theme this week at June's Dezinaworld is...

Whiter shade of pale.

The first thing that flew into my thoughts was the song of that name

A whiter shade of pale, sung by  Procol Harum.

This was a firm favourite back in the day and can still evoke loads of happy memories if  we [ me and my OH] hear it played on on the media,needless to say we have our own copy .

I had to hand this background in my journal, but pale images were being hard to imagine, so after a photo was taken , I was off into my digital mode, to create my own version here where hopefully the dove would bring a message that would bring a bit of colour to her cheeks.

Using images from  favourite sources. Dezinaworld  and Mischief Circus as well a few of my own. and all assembled in my Craft Studio.

The Main images of the mother and little girl can be found over there as well in Junes kits.

Mitzi and her friend   like it when the little girl takes them out to play,    so they  had a trip out  to sit in the garden and listen to the story.

This is their usual home, a hat box on a chest of drawers.

Chocolate and lime.

is  Chocolate and Lime.

 I do have my ladies posed on a chocolate bar, and the cat has just tasted the chocolate egg,

 but the fun for me was using a colour that is not in my comfort zone --lime.

however I did have a story  buzzing in my head when I was creating this digital page

Here we have  Mary taking a break .

She has to find the shed keys she dropped in the grass

 but would much rather sit in the sun and enjoy the spring air watching the sheep
and thinking about her boyfriend.

Maybe she is even humming a tune to herself .

I wonder what it may be?

 the aged old friend has decided it won't play anymore and it was  a bit long in the tooth to repair.

Time machine

This weeks---Cheeky challenge theme at Dezinaworld  is.... Time Machine.

Harold and Cecil the local radio, reporters   have some breaking news.....................

After months of construction, Mr   I.N. Ventor  has just launched his new sea going  fish capsule.

Early reports say that it is  a  comfortable way to travel 

 and any turbulence  that can cause sea sickness,  is taken care of  by using the gas filled balloon .
However, he has yet to reach the  '' water speed''  that would let him  ride the waves.
Well enough of my silly story, I'll leave you to make you own minds up
 as to how his invention would work.

is Valentines-Love

Somehow this theme in my mind is associated with using the colour red.

 But this is  the first page  I made....... in blues.

I had a play using a digital punch to cut  the couple out in a heart shape.

I used my Craft Studio to create these  pages using elements from Dezinaworld,

 Mischief Circus kits and my own stored images.

June over at Dezinaworld 

Cheeky Challenges has added a list for her weekly challenge themes,

 this week its--Rags, poverty and homeless.

Oh dear I thought,  what a deep and moving theme.

Not just a topic from past times but a very current issue in our world and lives today.

So this is again a digital page, much easier for me to blend and overlay images, using my own,

some from Mischief circus kits and the one June supplied..

The quote is by Frank Mc Court and I believe its from Angela's Ashes.

June  has also added an image to use if we  wanted to, so it is incorporated into my background.
