Natures Beauty... for TioT's

Natures Beauty
is the new challenge theme over at

Please pop over for all the details and see what we have all been making.

This is my mixed media/hybrid journal page for the theme.

I used my 8 x 8 inch journal and first of all added some stencils.

The little mouse climbing up the poppy stalk is torn from an old calendar page.

I added some shading using  distress oxide  inks and some stamped leaves.

This gave me my mixed media base.
Next it was off to the computer  for the other additions. [Digital information can be found in my sidebar]
I will be adding those  words free hand to my mixed media page, when I get up the courage to go ahead and do it.

Thank you for stopping by,
you are always very welcome here.

Just friends

I have a hybrid journal page to share today with
for Rike's theme of Animal A to Z

This  sweet hedgehog from a colouring in book was my starting place.

I found this book  in a discount book shop  and it really appealed to me as it does have
plenty clear space around the  figures.
This makes it much easier for me to play about with in the computer program I use.[see my sidebar].
I often cut out the things I want to use on a page, but this book has pictures to colour on both sides  so Mr Hedgehog will stay where he is in his Enchanted Forest.

I have mentioned before that I go to an art group in the library
We were pleased to find out that the Library will be open  until the next review takes place in 2020, keeping the same part time hours as we have  now,

It is with this group of friends  that  my interest
in the non-messy side  of colouring  began.
. The ladies bring in books  and we photo copy and share pages that interest us.  There is much laughter, lots of tea and coffee to drink,  good conversation, the time just flies by.
We can even aspire to being famous and colour in our version of  a masterpiece.

Thank you for stopping by today, you are always welcome here.

Creativity

I am following my adventures in creating hybrid art .
It is so dull in the craft room today, that even the daylight bulb in my lamp seems dim.
Fortunately I have a few base journal pages I can use, so it was just a question of adding
some digital additions to make the page  come alive.

New Year, New Adventures is  Erika's theme for January at..

I think fun  will feature  on my, ' to do'  list for this year,
especially  when I'm experimenting  in my own crafting world.
No pressure, deadlines  or must do today.
I may even make some special birthday cards in advance of needing them.
Well it is just January and I can always  dream that this will happen.

Thank you for calling in today.
You are all always welcome here.

Digital information can be
found in my sidebar.

Last of the Old and First of the New

My last post of the year is this page for my digital journal.
I have enjoyed my personal journey this past year,
which has taken me into the world of creating art on the computer. But saying that I have never lost my love of getting messy.  So now I can say I have two avenues to follow in this coming year.

This page can only be called my own work in  its later digital stages. It began with the water coloured painted Christmas card my husband made for me.

The idea to use this card came when we had a heavy snow fall here a couple of days ago.  The silence was quite magical and peaceful.
{notes about my digital pages can be found in my sidebar]

So  now for a bit of mess, big style..... to celebrate the start of a New Year
On the right... the messy painted stages ......

Paint, paste, stencil, fussy cutting, ending up with my  hands a rather  fetching colour of blue and green.

The words were computer generated.

Thank you for following me on my crafty journey this past year.
I very much appreciate the time you take to call in  to see me .

I hope you all have a wonderful creative, happy and peaceful New Year.

Happy New Year.

Happy New Year.
This is a last journal  page from me for this months challenge theme ....
Lets Celebrate.... set by Sheila over at

The page began with a pieces of striped  coloured tissue, stuck to a random  coloured, background page.
I then fussy  cut out some bottles and glasses from a free supermarket magazine. A bit more colouring with oxide inks to fill a few white spaces.
It was then taken into the digital computer program I use for the extra details to be added.

This page also fits these other challenges. so I will also join the folk at ...

Moo-Mania and More
where the theme is....
Welcome.......Somebody/Something/The New Year
and

Take a Word
This weeks theme is....... Celebrate

Thank you for calling in to see me today, your visit is always appreciated

A winters day.

This is the tag I made for

and the current theme of Christmas Memories

On the left you can see my starting point for  today's tag and page.
The tag was added to a corrugated card base .
Both pieces were completed in the digital computer program I use [notes in my sidebar].

A distress ink background with a tiny bit of embossing .
A stamped snowman and a couple of found relative pieces.
Torn paper strips for the snow across the bottom.

When I saw these two boys I was immediately taken back to when my boys were small, They loved the snow and making snowmen in the garden. Woolie hats , warm, clothes and mittens. The difference would  with these two would be the footwear, wellies were the choice as shoes  were of no use for the snowy ground.

I used the same starting point for this digital journal page,
which I will add to Sheila's theme.....Lets celebrate..... over at

Thank you for calling in today at this busy time of the year.
I went for a last grocery shop for some vegetables and fruit,  this morning, it was unbelievable the number of folk in the store.
Leaving the car park was worse ,that was a traffic jam in itself, it took 25 minutes
to get on  to the  road.
Happy Holidays!!

Happy Holidays and T day wishes.

Hello everyone  and  to friends at

where every Tuesday we are always made very welcome with a drinks related post.
I think we are all busy at this time of the year, but I have to find the time to have a crafty play, before things get even busier here,  even if it is digital/ hybrid journal pages.

When I was making my Christmas cards using this stamped image, I did an extra copy to add to
my digital journal.  Simple layered cards again with a ribbon trim.

I will be sharing the journal page  with the folk at
for Sheila's Lets celebrate theme.

There'e the trusty cuppa beside the computer and in case you wonder what the pages  I  was working on look like,
they are  here
on my Digital blog.

Last photo of the day is of our tree,

Happy T day  everyone
and my best wishes to you all for a Happy Holiday and Christmas.

Having fun

A couple of hybrid  journal pages to share with you today.
both were started in the usual inky, hands on   manner
and then finished in the  digital computer program I use [notes in my sidebar]

On the left is how the first  page started out.
Watercolour wash and some raised stencils.
This first one is all about celebrating and having a good time.  I am sure there are many folk out
having parties at this time of year.
The staff in the local hairdressers were telling me about their outing last week and they were still  on a high as they described the fun they had.

This is a more quieter celebration page.
My ballerina's wish came true and she hopes  yours will  too.

I will be joining the folk over at Art Journal Journey
  for Sheila's theme of
Lets Celebrate

I am also adding a reminder for the current Try it on Tuesdays

Challenge theme of
Twinkle Twinkle.

Thank you for calling in to see me   at this busy time of the year.
Your comments are always appreciated.

Celebrate and be Merry

This is a hybrid journal page for

where Sheila is hosting this months theme of.....Lets celebrate

The page all began with these two Christmas cards from a batch  I had been making, with stenciled backgrounds
I  thought the cute stamped images[Paper Artsy]would be fun to use on a journal page as well.
I used one of my own digital journal base layers, adjusted the cards in the digital program I use. Then I added a few extra images to create the snowy scene.
I think these two will be have a good celebration, she seems to have a twinkle in her eye and perhaps rather likes her friend.
Thank you for stopping by today,
the comments you leave for me are always appreciated.

Digital information can be
found in my sidebar.

Celebrate in the snow.

We are having frosty mornings and the weather men are forecasting
that this weekend will bring us another session of snowy weather.

This got me thinking about how my  sons   used to look forward to  the first snow falls,
all those years ago. They couldn't wait for it to be deep enough to make a snowman.
Snow at this time of the year usually meant that Christmas was on its way.
Wool gloves, warm coats and wellie boots   always  in the porch, ready to be pulled on quickly.
The tree would be decorated ,   the Nativity in its special place.
They would visit Santa in   the Church Hall,
when he called  in, close to the big day,   to check they were  behaving nicely.
Magical Celebrations  that last in our memories for ever.

This is  a page for.

where Sheila is hosting this months theme....Lets Celebrate

On the left is some of the stages  of this journal page.
Top left.... It all began with a packet of paper tissues with these nutcracker figures .

Bottom left....... some colouring and stencils added.

Top right..... digital additions
Bottom right...... the words and some sparkles added.

Thank you for calling in today, you are always welcome and your visit appreciated.

Digital information can
be found in my sidebar.

Just be happy

On a frosty winter day I  had fun making this tag for the
 new theme  at.....

We are asked to used some Lime Green on our tag.
I used one of my own corrugated  recycled tag bases, painted with white gesso first ,
then a blend of my paints to get the base green colour.
The next step was what to use, to decorated the tag,
most of my images were added in the computer program I use [notes in my sidebar].

Thank you for calling in today, you are always welcome here
and the comments you leave me are appreciated.

Stay warm and party.

This will  be my last page this month for Chris's theme of
101 Ways to Keep Warm

The animals are having a party today.

They  just need yummy things to eat. perhaps a drink, although they would prefer a glass of water.
But best of all, they   feel a warm glow inside as they spend happy times in each others company.

On the left is how the page looked in its early stages.
The  base is water coloured. The animals were fussy  cut from an old calendar.
I also added a few areas of stencilling.

The dog did have the glass balanced on its head and I thought it would be fun to have ' Bird-cake'   trying to get a sip of the wine..... 'Duck-cup',
was not at all impressed with this  and was happy with the cream cake.
I added the party hats, bunting and words in the digital program I use. [notes in my sidebar].

Thank you for calling in to see me today, you are always welcome here.

Don't stand still and keep warm for AJJ

Another  journal page for Chris's theme of
101 ways to keep warm....over at

On the left is a couple of photos
 of how the page began.

I found the picture of the children walking through the snow in an old magazine. Yes I do have a large pile of old papers and magazines, that I really should recycle, but the hoarder in me just lets the pile grow taller.
I stuck the torn picture into my journal on a watercoloured base layer.
Then I added  a thick coating of crackle paste and let it dry to see what happened.

The last stage was in the computer program I use [notes in my sidebar].

I hope you are all keeping warm today, its very cold here in the UK .

Thank you for stopping by,
you are always welcome here.

 then embossed with texture paste.
Finished with a little gilding wax.
All the other additions were made in the
digital computer program I use. [notes in my side bar].

Thank you for stopping by today, your visit here is always welcome.

Love will keep us warm

I am sharing a hybrid journal page for Chris's theme of
"101 ways to stay warm",  at......

This is how the page began, with a simple water colour wash base.
I fussy cut some stamped paper Artsy houses. The sweet knitted bears having a cosy cuddle, were cut from an old magazine.  After I had added these images I  added a bit more paint before the photo was taken. Then it was off to the computer to have a  play.  No inky fingers for this  next stage.

I am adding a reminder for the current Try it on Tuesdays challenge theme.... Home Sweet Home....  you  get the information here.

I wonder which of these houses my bears live in?

Thank you for calling in to see me today, your comments and visit are always appreciated.

Going home

A hybrid journal page for
and Chris's  theme this month.....
101 ways to stay warm.

You can wear layers of warm clothes on a cold  blustery day,
perhaps take a brisk walk to blow away the cobwebs and take some fresh air.....
but..... nothing can replace the feeling when you turn around and start your journey home.
That for sure would be the warmest place to be.

It was one of my own base layers, but the other additions are all digital.

Thank you for calling in, I always appreciate the comments you leave for me.

Digital information  can be
found in my sidebar.
