Hi everyone, I am thrilled to be telling you all about a new Challenge Blog called

The first challenge will be announced on Thursday, it will be mixed media style,  using stamps or  stencils or both [no digis]. The team is being introduced over three days and I am sure you will recognise us as  we have worked together before.
All the details are on the blog and we look forward to you joining us.

They who have wings for TioT's

'They who have wings',
is the new challenge theme that starts today over at Try it on Tuesdays.
The background for this layered card was made using a Sheena Douglass stencil
and shaded with distress inks. The birds  from Tim Holtz Quirky birds set, were water coloured.
The die cut is also one of Tim's.
Please pop over to Tiot's and see the fantastic inspiration from our Guest  and the Team.

Thank you for stopping by to take a look at what I made,
the comments you leave for me are always appreciated.

Mary the Baby Sitter.

Had fun playing with my Quirky Birds stamps set  [Tim Holtz] yesterday,
while waiting for paint to dry  for  future  DT  projects.
Journaling is becoming my favourite way to unwind.
That and visiting  the
blog, where you can always find amazing inspiration.
This page started  a while ago when I was trying out new stencils,  and various shades of green distress ink.
The birds were water coloured . The bird box is a Joffy stamp.
Poor Mary, looks  a bit harassed.
Her charges will be increasing when those eggs hatch .
Mary is  also off to visit at
Moo Mania and More  where the theme is Eggs.
Thank you for stopping by today, the comments you leave  for me are always appreciated.

Henry and Henrietta

This is another page for Art Journal Journey.
March theme --Things with wings.

Henry asked  Henrietta where she would like to go on holiday.
As usual he wan't listening and thought she wanted to go some where hot,
so he took her to France.
A fun page for me to make, using warm colours, mainly Spiced marmalade distress ink, stencils and a couple of free  images that I have had  on the computer for a while.

I am just in time to join the current theme  at
Moo Mania and More
which is Poultry.
Thank you for taking time to stop by, the comments you leave for me are always appreciated.

Jump and don't forget to fly

A just for fun page in my journal today,
lots of Spiced Marmalade and Mustard seed distress ink for the background.
The stencils are Sheena Douglass using Black Soot DI
The image  is a Dina Wakley stamp.
Its 'Things with wings',  over at
where they are celebrating their 4th Birthday  this month.
This  image  was just asking for the addition of some wings. I just wonder how high the jump needed to be and how much arm flapping it would have taken  to fly away.

Thank you for taking time to stop by, the comments you leave for me are always appreciated.

Hats for TioT's

Another new challenge theme is starting today over at Try it on Tuesdays.....
'Hats'.
The DT have some awesome pieces to inspire you,
so please pop over for the details and see what we all made.
This card was made up mainly using Graphics 45 papers and elements,
together with some scraps of lace and ribbons from my stash.
All the additional shading is Vintage Photo distress inks.

Thank you for taking time to stop by, I always appreciate the comments you leave for me.

Tweets and Meow

Another page for Art Journal Journey
and the theme this month is Things with Wings.
I hope these small birds will be okay, but I do think it was rather brave of that little one talking to a cat.
As you can see, its another messy background, mainly brusho and mop ups.
I  added  the stencil of the tree and the images [Brett Weldele stamp set] .
The wall is another left over scrap of an embossed wall. Plenty Vintage Photo distress ink and some Empire gold gilding wax soon got my hands back to looking their normal state, when I am crafting just for fun.

I will also be  linking  to the new challenge blog Mixed Media World
the first theme is Anything Goes.

Thank you for stopping by to take a look,
the comments you leave for me are always appreciated.

Saturday Fun

Saturday afternoon out  was spent in the company of crafting friends Avril  and Diane.
At a Hels Sheridan workshop held at  Crafty Corner  in South Shields.
This  is  7 x 5 inch  box canvas that I made.
Lots of inkiness, making flowers  and playing with hot bees wax in the melt pots.
Mind you I was covered in the black paint before we started, having picked up a well soaked pad left from the mornings workshop.
So briefly, a canvas base, pieces of patterned and plain papers, distress with ink.
Random stamping and a word quote, there was so much choice, I went for a personal favorite.
Covered  all over with bees wax before adding the flower etc, which were also covered with wax.
Although we had the same ingredients, it was amazing that all the finished results were so different.

I am going to link this with Country View Crafts
who have an Anything goes theme to celebrate their blogaversary

Thank you for stopping by to take a look, the comments you leave for me are always appreciated.

Don't forget to fly for AJJ

Another  page today for Art Journal Journey
Things with Wings
I am still playing with my new Finnabair stamps but trying to use up some of my pre- inked, mopped up and blotted pages, so I cannot tell you about colours used.

I have added a bit of stencilling,   using grunge paste on the dotty one , then rubbed   it over when dry with some Treasure gold,
perhaps it didn't need this stage, but hey knowing when to stop is generally  not one of my strong points.

Thank you for taking time to stop by ,
the comments you leave for me are always appreciated.

Springtime for ATP Exchange

Colours of Spring is the new challenge theme over at
Annie our host this time  would like us to use a fresh colour palette and include flowers/birds.
Please pop over for all the details,  see what we made and find out how you could win a generous   £10 store voucher from our sponsors at the  Artist Trading Post.
I have highlighted the products  used,  that are available from the store.

I used a large Wooden Heart shape  [from a set of 3] as my base.

To add texture  I reached for a Tim Holtz stencil and my pot  of Paper Artsy  Grunge Paste.

I painted over the surface when it had dried out using
Paper Artsy Fresco Finish - Vintage Lace,
mixed with a little white Gesso.
On the left is how it looked after one coat
Adding a little random stamping with some old stamps.
I added another coat of paint  before the next stage.

To colour the heart I used .....
Prima Colour Bloom-Summer Sky
Tim Holtz Distress Ink- Peeled Paint
Treasure Gold - Olive Bronze to add some highlights.

Now for my  additions,  using  Paper Artsy stamps., The flowers are from the Joffy  13 set
and are a favourite of mine to use.
The bird is from a new set--
 Lin Brown Eclectica 18
I used water colour paints for colouring and added a few small beads to the center  of the flowers.

This is  the last challenge at the Artist Trading Post Exchange,

Keep a look out for something new and exciting coming soon

Thank you for taking time to  stop by, the comments you leave me are always appreciated.

Things with wings for AJJ

Been having a dabble with some new stamps in my journal
Also to share over at Art Journal Journey, the new theme for March is
Things with Wings, hosted this month by Chrissie.
The background was  an old one sprinkled  with Brusho powder then sprayed with water.
The stamps are mainly from a  Prima  Finnabair set, others from my stash.
The distress inks were fired brick, mustard seed and dried marigold.

Thank you for stopping by to take a look, I always appreciate the comments you leave for me.

Pearls for Girls at TioT's

Into March already and a new Challenge over at Try it on Tuesdays.
The theme is 'Pearls for Girls'.
Please pop over for all the details and see what we have all been making.
This card is made up from left over pieces of embossed card using  Crafters Companion folders.
A quick and easy to assemble card , when time is short..
A bit of added Vintage photo distress ink round the edges after I had taken the
blunt scissors to the edges to shabby them up a bit.
The image and words are Paper Artsy stamps.

Thank you for taking time to stop by, the comments you leave me are always appreciated.
