Another journal page for Chris's theme of
101 ways to keep warm....over at
On the left is a couple of photos
of how the page began.
I found the picture of the children walking through the snow in an old magazine. Yes I do have a large pile of old papers and magazines, that I really should recycle, but the hoarder in me just lets the pile grow taller.
I stuck the torn picture into my journal on a watercoloured base layer.
Then I added a thick coating of crackle paste and let it dry to see what happened.
The last stage was in the computer program I use [notes in my sidebar].
I hope you are all keeping warm today, its very cold here in the UK .
Thank you for stopping by,
you are always welcome here.
lol lol I have huge piles of old papers and magazines to..love them

What a fabulous AJJ page Yvonne! Love how you added that lovely crackly snow! No snow here but very cold! Some cars had snow on yesterday and my grandson reported snow in their garden too! Hugs, Chrisx

Your crackle paste looks just like crunchy snow! And don't recycle...the pages look better in your journal. π

Brrr. That is one cold page. :) But those kids look warm and as if they are having fun. Not looking forward to snow here. Hopefully it doesn't come for quite awhile. But love this page for AJJ Yvonne. Hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteIf it weren't for magazine images, I would be out of luck. I guess that makes me a hoarder, too. You found a fantastic image, but what I like most of all is the way you crackled the paste. It makes it seem all the more snow surrounds the images. It's a fantastic AJJ entry, Yvonne.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful use of the crackle paste, fabulous result and very imaginative.xx[aNNie]π
ReplyDeleteThat's a wonderful magazine page you used, but it looks very cold where they are! The crackle paste adds the perfect touch, reminds me of frost on windows.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful page! The crackle glaze looks superb and created a lovely winter look π. I may have to try to apply it thickly next time, did it take a long time to dry? The magazine image is lovely and I can just imagine walking through this winter wonderland too - perfect π. Wishing you a happy new week! J π
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for your reply about the crackle paste on my blog, I never really have much luck using it so I'm always grateful of any tips - thank you! The weather really couldn't decide what to do here today ...lol π... rain and sunshine on and off all today with a very cold wind so definitely hat weather here too π. Thanks again! J π x
