May
and a new theme over at Art Journal Journey.
Our host this month is Elle from Empire of the Cat and the theme she has chosen is......
'Language.'
Please call over to AJJ to read the details and see Elle's inspiration for her theme.
Language
and words are something I do not take for granted.
It can change how we feel, communicate with other people, how we interpret what we see,
instruct, educate, even escape to a private world of fantasy and dreams
My journal page started out with torn book pages, lots of green mop up paint and a flower image.
Next came the flower fairies you will have guessed I'm now using my computer digital program.
Next I added the words, the language that could explain what I was thinking about as I created the page.
Was it a world of make believe with fairies at the bottom of the garden or was it going out into the garden to do a tidy up, or, was it to pick up the book I am currently reading. Adding language to a page even just one word changes what we see.
As its a cold day
I think the book will win.
Thank you for calling in today, stay safe and keep well.
.
This is a wonderful first entry, Yvonne. I read with great interest how language can influence anything from a conversation to an impression. I like how you interpreted with you were thinking when you created this beauty. Yes, it sounds like the book will win out. If it had been warm and sunny, I'm sure you would have chosen puttering in your garden. Thanks so much for this great first entry for Art Journal Journey using Elle's theme.
ReplyDeleteWonderful page Yvonne. What we say and how we say it always defines us. Books and gardens both speak a language of their own! Have a great May, take care! Hugs, Valerie
ReplyDeleteI totally agree that one word can change everything - what a great concept, Yvonne. Your page is beautiful and I love that you stayed monochrome too which is also a language of freshness and growth. Super cool and lovely. Hugz
ReplyDeleteI love your little almost hidden green leaf fairy Yvonne. I like the words on the background too. What a beautiful way to start a new month. Hope you are hanging in there. Thinking of you. Hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteWell, I have lots of books on shelves waiting to be read so the library is sorted. As for a garden, we are lucky to look out on gardens but as you know my greatest delight is to visit gardens, so I consider myself lucky to have everything.
ReplyDeleteCommunication is so important for so many things and I love those fairies trying to entice you out in the cold to tidy the garden. Today is definitely a stay in and read day!
We are getting closer to some kind of freedom from COVID now so hope that you will be able to go out for visits soon! Hugs, Chrisx
I think the book would win with me to Yvonne, you are right, it is too cold to be hunting fairies at the bottom of the garden but i must say I love your fairies. I spotted the tiny one in the corner - delightful! A lovely page that started out with a torn book page, something I like to see, and the colour is so lovely and fresh.
ReplyDeleteHugs, Neet xx
I wonder what language the fairies speak. In Irish myths they are often overheard singing.

Beautiful page! I love all the green, it reminds me of this time of year and the wording is perfect 😁. Happy May and I hope you're having a lovely weekend too! Hugs, Jo x
ReplyDeleteA lovely page, love the fresh Spring green, perfect for this time of the year. Reading in the garden is so relaxing, but yes, far too cold just now, Hope you're having a good weekend. Avril xx
ReplyDeleteBeautiful. Great technique, too.
ReplyDeleteThis is lovely, Yvonne, with all the greens and the flowers and the fairies - and of course, the words.
ReplyDeleteYes, books and a garden, how lucky we are with those.
Oh, you are so correct about language, Yvonne. I wrote a short poem a while back on an art journal page about language. I missed the deadline for April's AJJ but I'm lucky as the spread I'm half-finished with also applies nicely to this month, so if I can get it finished I think I will share the page with the poem as well. Very nice page you've done, made me think. Hope your week goes well, XOX
ReplyDeleteGorgeous page 💐😊 congrats
ReplyDeleteThese are gorgeous - thank you for sharing how you made them..

Beautiful. I've been really digging green lately so this is so appealing.
ReplyDeletea garden and a library - perfect, sign me up! I love your green page Yvonne, the book paper, the cute little flower fairies. It's cold here too, so the book wins here too! Thanks for joining me for the Language theme at Art Journal Journey this month Elle xx
ReplyDeleteLanguage, words...where would one be without them. Btw that’s a great shade of green !
