August
and a new theme over at
Art Journal Journey
where we welcome our Guest Hostess for this month
Neet from Hickydorums
the theme she has chosen for us is.......'Type'
Please pop over to AJJ to read all the information and see the inspiration
Neet is giving us for this topic.
My journal page began with some stamped letters and numbers,
torn scraps of book, dictionary paper a few scraps from the bits box and some paper dolls [TH]
There are so many styles of print to choose from to add to a journal page
and these children just couldn't make up their minds. I do hope that one day they will get to type their own story in their chosen font perhaps using old fashioned pen and ink, or a typewriter, although these days it would probably be typed up using a computer.
We look forward to seeing how you interpret this theme and hope you will join us at AJJ.
This is a stunning first entry, dear Yvonne. I love the words and letters that are needed to tell the story. These children look like they might have one to tell. I love the old typewriter and the typography. You put a lot into this page and it is simply stunning. Thanks for this entry your shared with us using Neet's theme at Art Journal Journey, dear.
ReplyDeleteFabulous collage as your first entry for 'type', Yvonne. Love how you put your page together.Have a great Sunday, hugs, Valerie
ReplyDeleteOh Yvonne, I love that quote at the top. "Without letters there would be no words, without words there would be no stories" - what a wonderful sentiment that is.
ReplyDeleteWonderful page too, showing different types of script. I particularly like how you have linked everything and shown the two children. I wonder if they put pen to paper to write their stories, and what they use today, how many changes they have seen in the world.
Thanks for joining me at AJJ.
Hugs, Neet xx
Fantastic page, just love all the ways you have illustrated type. Hope you are OK, hugs Wendy xx
ReplyDeleteThis is a great vintage style page Yvonne. Nice images all about type, and using the newspaper was brilliant. This is perfect for Neet's challenge. And you even found the perfect quote. Hope you have a wonderful start to the new month. Hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteVery cool stamping, images, and papers. I really like the look and the layering. You captured the theme in a very cool way! Love it.
ReplyDeleteWonderful page Yvonne ! I love it, and love the children picture. Great different types.
ReplyDeleteI hope you are fine, as your family and friends too.
I wish you a great Sunday, and send big hugs, Caty
I agree with Neet, it is a lovely quote, quite thought-provoking. I'm trying to imagine how one could tell a story without words. Interesting about the children too. Maybe they will one day use a typewriter in the same way that LP records are becoming popular again. You've found lots of different fonts too.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely page Yvonne! I love the quote and how you have such a variety of different styles of typed papers here. I'm sure that they will write their story! Hugs, Chrisx
ReplyDeleteGreat page, love it. Very 3-dimensional.
ReplyDeleteThe quote goes wonderfully with it and your work of art is so beautifully thought out and put together. I love it !
ReplyDeleteI wish you a happy new week, hug Elke
A gorgeous page Yvonne!
ReplyDeleteHappy August.

So true...no letters - no words; no words - no stories. A terrific page! A small sampling of the many ways we use type. And it all begins when we are children. A great take on the ‘TYPE’ theme.
ReplyDeleteA fantastic page Yvonne!! I love all the layers of type on your monochromatic vintage page. And that quote is so true.
ReplyDeleteSo lovely page!
ReplyDeleteThis is fab Yvonne, how the sweet children sit amongst all that collaged print. A very pretty display.
