Vintage
has been chosen for us by Wendy K from...Wendy's Art and Craft Journal
our Host for this month.
Please call over to the Art Journal Journey blog
to get all the information and the guidance Wendy has shared with us for the theme.
For my journal page I have gone down the vintage fashion style route,
following two sisters wearing their Sunday best dresses as children,
to growing up and wearing fashionable outfits . going out
to meet with their friends.
I imagine they will have lots of stories to tell as they get older about the clothes they used to wear.
I used TH relatives for my girls.
The background of the page is a mop up one in my Kraft card journal , I even used a few scraps of washi tape to try to create some steps for them to stand on.
Thank you for calling in today, you are very welcome here.
How clever, Yvonne. I can envision that these little girls/sisters have grown up and have all kinds of stories they can share. This is a really lovely entry for Wendy's theme at Art Journal Journey.
ReplyDeleteFabulous page, we all collect lots of memories in the course of the years, until we start forgetting them again! Hsve a great day, hugs, Valerie
ReplyDeleteFabulous Yvonne, love the idea and the whole effect is very vintage. Hope you are OK.

I love your page Yvonne, and how you added that quote. That is a good thought for the day too. It would be wonderful to meet people who were earlier relatives and know more about them. Happy September to you. Hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteWhat a good idea to portray the past and the present in your journal page. To begin with I love the Gesso (?) on the Kraft and the touch of orange at the base. A beautiful picture and such lovely words.
ReplyDeleteRecently I lost the last member of my family from when I was a child and it brought it home to me that I should have asked so many questions whilst growing up about the family. Now they lie unanswered. Perhaps it is time I began to write my story to leave behind so no more questions go unanswered. Your words have certainly made me think.
This is a wonderful page Yvonne.
Hugs, Neet xx
What an absolutely brilliant idea for your page Yvonne. I love the Washi tape at the bottom of your page being used as steps. Hugs, Chrisx
ReplyDeleteGorgeous page Yvonne! I love the message and images.

Great choice of images and little mini story. Clothes back then were so much cooler and really did have stories - they were worthy of memories too. Now, not so much. Great journal pages, Yvonne.
ReplyDeleteLove, love this vintage and monochromatic journal page Yvonne!!! So glad I went to look back to find this:) I don't know why as I am following you that it doesn't show up on my feed...
