The page began with a water colour wash and a raised wall stencil.
I added a bit more paint using a damp baby wipe, it covers a larger area quicker than using a brush.
Let it dry, before layering on the pieces of torn napkin. I love these sweet cats.
Extra shading with some oxide inks , then some leafy foliage stamps when it had all dried out.
Adding layers like this I have learnt that drying time is just as important as having fun.
The final addition was the computer generated wording.
I will also be adding this page to
Art Journal Journey
where I am hosting this month's theme
A world of fantasy....
now wouldn't it be good if we could look at the world through the eyes of our family pets and see what they see and have them able to tell us how it looks to them.......

I am off now to visit with friends over at
Bleubeard and Elizabeths
where each Tuesday we are always made very welcome with a drinks related post
There is my cuppa for today, sat close by as I was adding the words to my journal page.
While I was there I made a fantasy digital page, using some Alice in Wonderland images, tea cups and cakes of course had to be added as well as an invitation to join me for a cuppa.
Ooops nearly forgot to share a photo of my Washi tape collection. Last week Eileen and Halli shared photos of their collections and wow they do have an amazing variety of tapes. I think this hoarding bug hasn't hit me yet, but that's not saying it won't in the future.
Thank you for calling in to see me and I hope you have a great day.

I'm SO impressed with your cats page. I can conjure up all kinds of stories those two kittens are telling each other as they play. I love how you broke down the steps in your journal page, too. That wall stencil is amazing, and I was glad you pointed out that drying time was as important as play time. Thanks for this 18th journal spread you shared with us at Art Journal Journey.
ReplyDeleteI couldn't forget the wonderful Alice inspired digital entry with the tea cups, the cakes, and the clock so they won't be late. This is a really fun entry and perfect in addition to your real tea you shared with us for T this Tuesday.
Thanks, too, for taking the washi tape challenge. I am in LOVE with yours. I've never seen any except a few on Johanna's blog. But most are new to me.

First, that is a lovely journal page! I love the hint of brick on your background! It reminds me I have a brick stencil somewhere! :). Second, your Washi tape collection is small like mine! And lastly, thank you for stopping by and all your nice comments. Like you said the Washi tape challenge has also inspired me to use mine, as I did already today! Happy Tea Day!

i wish you a very nice wednesday, big hugss, Caty
I think you are well on your to hoarding washi tape. Hee-hee. Loving the art today. I often wonder what my pets are thinking and how they think. Do they use words? Pictures? They obviously think and come up with ideas-like wanting to go out and wanting to go to bed-and get you to try to go with them. And nice mug this week. You've inspired me to change up my mugs a bit. Hope it was a great T day since when you read this it will be Wednesday. Hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteMore wonderful projects and look at that stash of washi tape wow..x
ReplyDeleteSuch a nicely composed journal page. I know they'd surprise us with whatever they'd say. Really love that Alice page. Thought it was "real"/ hands on. You do beautiful digital work! Nice washi hoard - ha! I shouldn't tease, mine is ridiculous. xoxo
ReplyDeleteEnjoyed your journal page with cats, thanks for telling us the process you used. I don't do digital art work but admire your Alice page.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pages.
ReplyDeleteI love the wash of colour over the brick texture, and your fabulous felines look right at home. Part of what I love about cats is that they feel no need to fill the silence with conversation!
