I'm having a 'bad hair day' today.
I never had the courage to have all my hair dyed. Highlights yes.
Bright colours never.
I can just about imagine the words my family would have had to say .
When my friend dyed her hair pink in her late 50's we all thought good for her.
Me..... I'll stick to my fantasy
The page is in my mixed media journal and the face is a JD tissue.
I found a box of coloured feathers at the back of the shelf and they came in very handy to create the hair. It was easier to add the stencils later for this page as I could tuck the edges under the feathers.
These fabric pages curl up quite a bit when glue and colours are used, so I used a few clips when I took the photos to try and keep the material flat.
Thank you for stopping by to see what I have been creating
I am adding my page to
where I am enjoying my time as host this month and seeing all the fabulous inspiration and entries you are sharing there.
What a wonderful and colourful page, your girl has a fantastic hairdo. Wish I had the courage to put feathers in my hair these days like I did back in the 1960s! Hugs, Valerie
ReplyDeleteSuch fabulous hair! The coloured feathers worked beautifully 😁. I didn't experiment with colours either, I remember a girl at school bleaching her hair white and being told that she had to dye it back to her original brown colour, it turned green 😉. Thanks for the memories and enjoy the rest of your weekend too! J 😊 x
ReplyDeleteI’ve had hair like that in the past lol great fun page

I'm STILL late, just not as late as I have been. You are creating art faster than I can keep up, though. This gal is bold indeed. I applaud her boldness, and your fantasy. Of course, those feathers helped seal the deal. Thanks for yet another lovely journal entry at Art Journal Journey, dear Yvonne.
ReplyDeleteA fabulous page, this sassy lady certainly has attitude.

I've been so lazy, reading your emailed blog posts and not commenting, but THIS one I had to. Pure genius with the feathers! However, all of your journal spreads for AJJ have been fab! Congrats on hostessing so well. Love how you are showing all kinds of examples or takes on your the theme. I must admit, they've helped me begin to think of something. Just hope I get down to it and do it before the deadline, haha. Anyway, FAB FAB FAB job! Have been enjoying the heck out of every post. xoxoxo
ReplyDeleteThe closest I came to being brave was using hair mascara in pink & green! I love your idea of feathers however :-)
