Friends and Family.

Friends and Family..... is the theme for the next two weeks at
 Try it on Tuesdays.

Please pop over to see  how  the DT  interpreted this theme
and we hope you will join us there.

An inked and stencil layered background.
A bit of random stamping and two best friends  [Stampotique images].
I used water colours and oxides inks for shading.
Friends are the family we choose for ourselves and I am sure
these two will be friends forever.

......................................

Its also T stands for Tuesdays over at
Bleubeard and Elizabeths

where we are always made very welcome with a drinks related post.
This will be a surprise to a few of you as I am sharing a cup of coffee with you this week.

I had left my OH in the book shop whilst I went off to do a bit of shopping and joined him later.
I couldn't say no to this cuppa as the smell of coffee in the book  shop was wonderful.
Did you notice on the table they were
promoting a book by Michelle Obama,
has anyone read it?
I think I will ask our library if they have it on the shelves and put in an order to read it.
.........................
Now a bit of recycling on a grand scale....
In the next village to ours Heddon on the Wall they have just unveiled this wood tree  sculpture.
I am not sure of the details, but the tree had  to come down.
So the local folk got in touch with  Tommy Craggs  who specialises
in tree sculpture.  I found a link if you would like to see more of his work .

The wood was stained to show up all the detail and it looks fantastic.

Thank you for calling in to see me  and I hope you all have a great day

I will also be joining AEDM
Art Every Day      Day 13

What a classy lady and what a good role model she is! Cool statue and how mart to recycle the tree into something as beautiful as the tree was. Have a super T day. Hugs-Erika

  9. Wow what an amazing wood sculpture! When my Mom was still with us she lived on the family farm, and there was a large tree near the house that had o come down. An Amish sculpturer carved her a huge bluebird eating a berry
I can't drink coffee anymore but your cup looks so delicious! and love your card
    Happy T hugs Kathy

  10. Very cute page, Yvonne. The Stampotique characters are fabulous.

I think that's the most beautiful cuppa that I've ever seen.

We have tree sculptures like that in our village, except they're left the natural wood color. They're quite fascinating.

    Happy T-day! Hugs, Eileen

  15. Your artwork is very good, and an excelent example for the theme 'Friends and family'. Everyone seems to find the Stampotique characters cute, but I confess I find them creepy. (sorry)
The tree sculpture is awesome! I looked at the link too and this man is amazing. Beautiful sculptures. The Roman soldier, was done in collaboration with another artist. I wondered for a bit about the choice of subject (Roman soldier) when he can do mythical figures and fairies and woodland animals. Then I realised you must be close to Hadrian's Wall and the penny dropped.
    Happy T-Day,
    Hugs,
    Lisca

  22. I’ve been without electricity for nearly a day. It has been frigid cold here and my fingers are still not warm. I would have been by sooner, but wanted to get something together for AEDM.

I love your darling best friends. They sure look happy together, and I love the way you colored them. I think the background goes perfectly with their demeanor, too.

There is a gentleman who has gained international fame from Wichita who also makes these sculptures out of old trees. Unfortunately, many have been vandalized and must now be brought inside public places. His name is Gino Salerno. Here are some of his pieces:

    https://www.kansas.com/news/article986830.html

You found some lovely ones, too. I see he also colors his trees. I just hope they don't vandalize his art like they have Gino's.

I could barely believe you had coffee. It certainly looks delicious and I bet it smelled good, too. I have hear about Michelle Obama's book, but not read it. Apparently something in it offended the current Mrs. Trump. Sorry, can't remember her name. Thanks for sharing your art, your wood sculpture, and your coffee with us for T this week. SO SORRY I was late visiting.

Michelle also offended Mrs. T when she offered to give any advice and help with the transition into the White House. She said that Laura Bush had been so kind to her and had been a blessing during the transition period, that she would be glad to help Mrs. T in any way she could. Mrs. T told her she didn't need any help and to mind her own business. Sounds to me like Mr and Mrs T were made for each other.
