Gardens , cafe's and vegetables.

Hello to everyone calling in to see me today and to friends from

where every Tuesday we are made very welcome with a drinks related post

More photos to share this week  from  our visit to
Wordsworth's Birthplace in Cockermouth.
[my first post is here]
It must have been thriving with home grown produce in the summer, but even  autumn  still had its beauty. It was hard to get people free photos but I managed a few.  The main rooms in the house, Drawing room, bedrooms  etc I gave up trying to get photos.

There were many quotes on slate  to look out for when walking around.
The last two really made me smile

After our visit and seeing all the food on display in the house ,
that we couldn't sample , we decided to find somewhere to have a meal.  A short walk into the town and just off the main street we found a really lovely old cafe, serving wholesome food.

Our choice was scampi and chips with salad and very delicious it was as we were quite hungry.

My last photo today is this hybrid journal page, my own base layers and some digital additions.
When I was  sorting out the photos  to share today,  the slate with the wheelbarrow for the Gardener's work area  gave me the idea for this page.
I hope it makes you smile.
Those vegetables  look so cute.

Thank you for stopping by, I hope you have a great day

  1. That garden must have inspired you to make this cool art piece. I can't imagine it not being inspiring. And I guess Wordsworth is so well known lots of people want to visit his home. And I really liked the slate about being composted. Ha-ha. I should paint one of those up for my garden. Have a fabulous T day. Hugs-Erika

  2. I often have trouble keeping people out of my photos, but I try hard not to show faces. The gardens more than made up for it, though. I thought that scarecrow was fabulous and the trespassers sign was the BEST!!!

I started out hungry and I'm now starving. I love scampi and chips. I even love salads. You drink the tea, I'll have my coffee and we'll eat very well! Thanks for sharing your trip to Wordsworth's birth place, the grounds, your lovely hybrid journal page, and your tea with us for T this Tuesday. I'm off to raid my fridge, now!

  7. Cockermouth is fascinating, Yvonne. The slates are interesting. I like the one about being composted too. Your lunch looks delicous - definitely more tasty than what the Cockermouth cooks prepare in the old way.

    Very cute Cockermouth-inspired page.

    Happy T-day! Hugs, Eileen

  11. Lovely to see the house (outside) and gardens and I do like the quotes on the slates.
Yes isn't it a awkward when people get in the way of our taking photos although I notice that many other people just take them anyway.
The "vegetables" in the wheelbarrow are indeed sweet and I like the lattice of words top right.

  18. Lovely photos! The garden looks beautiful, even though it is autumn. I don't mind people in my photos, and as long as I don't get their faces, I feel I can still use the photos for my blog.
I loved looking at all the different slates and reading the quotes. The one about trespassers is really funny.
Scampi and chips, yum! We have just come back from a trip in the UK and scampi has been on the menu at least once.
I love your digital page with the cute veggy babies. Also the word-art.
    Happy belated T-Day,
    Lisca

  19. Sorry to be so late visiting this T Day, we have been on a 2 week vacation visiting our friends in Maine, America and Tuesday was our last day with them. We flew back yesterday and arrived back home today, so I figured better late then never ...lol 😉. The gardens looks beautiful and I enjoyed reading all the different signs, such a great mixture of beautiful quotes and fun sayings, the composting one made me smile ...lol 😉. I can see how the gardens inspired your wonderful page too! Sending you very happy belated T Day wishes! J 😊 x
