An autumn page for October over at
where Valerie is hosting her theme of
Indian Summer, Golden October, Autumn.
My hybrid page started off with this painted, splashed, smudged and splattered page in my 8 x 8 inch journal,
Next addition was the stamped owl image. which was shaded with Distress ink -vintage photo.
I love owls and on our last trip away for the season in the caravan we could hear them each evening in the woodland where we were staying.
I love owls and on our last trip away for the season in the caravan we could hear them each evening in the woodland where we were staying.
After these two photos were taken, I enlarged the base layer to A4 size.
Then blended in the page with the owl before adding some digital images and the words.
Thank you for calling in to see me today, your visit is always appreciated.
Beautiful piece, owls are always great with autumnal colours. I have used that quote on one of my pages, too, it is so beautiful. Have a lovely day, and thanks for your mail, will reply later. Hugs, Valerie

Stunning page Yvonne! Wonderful hybrid work! I do have a question though, - once you have finished adding the digital imagery, do you then print the finished piece or keep it as a digi file??
ReplyDeleteHi Astrid,
DeleteI do mainly keep the completed pages in a digital file. If they were to be used on a journal spread then I print them out.
This 8 x 8 original page will get some typically crafty additions added later, so is currently labelled work in progress.
I often finish pages digitally, these days as my hands and fingers, don't hold things as well as they once did.
hope this answers your question

That's great how you started from your painting and then added the stamped owl (I love this owl in front of his castle) and then merged all the parts together. Great result.
ReplyDeleteImagine hearing the owls from your caravan, that must have been wonderful.
This is my favourite as I just love owls. You have inspired me to do some Autumn pages now.
