A page for October's theme over at..
Indian Summer...Golden October....Autumn.
I have always liked poetry and this verse, to me, describes the season so well.
Mind you when I first found it, I honestly thought a woodchuck was a bird.
Thank goodness for computer searches to set me along the right lines.
I'm sure this will bring a smile to my American blog friends.
This is the my hybrid journal page begins..
Using my 8 x 8 inch journal, lots of paint for the base, a bit of random stencilling
and stamping using distress inks
Some die cut foliage with a little colour and gilding wax rubbed over before sticking into place.
I was able to use a texture piece to increase my work area.
I do enjoy layering using the computer especially with these red squirrels looking like they are enjoying a family feast at the end of nut gathering.
Thank you for calling in to see me today, your visit is always appreciated.
Wonderful page with those gorgeous colours and words, thanks so much for all the support you give to us at AJJ. This is my fave season because of all the great colours. Hugs, Valerie
ReplyDeleteBeautifully created Yvonne and I love that poem.
ReplyDeleteThe 'Woodchuck' made me smile - Bird? I thought it was a carpenters tool - oops :)
Hope all ok with you - I seem to have lost most of September, will try and catch up with your posts soon.

I love your page - the delictae stems are so beautiful to the composition and the poem goes so well with it.. I neither know what a woodchuck is ...had to translate
ReplyDeletewe call it Murmeltier in german - and the translation says that a woodchuck is a forest- marmot or forest log...
so many names always - confusing.
Hope you had a great anniversary!
Thank you so much for supporting us again so well at AJJ dear Yvonne!
Happy new week
Susi

Wonderful poem for your beautiful page Yvonne. We had similar ideas today

This is incredible, Yvonne. Beautiful art and background and yes, I'm grinning about the woodchuck, especially because we have this tongue twister/limerick all young US children learn: How much wood would a woodchuck chuck, if a woodchuck could chuck wood? Of course, I was certainly impressed with your beautiful entry and poem.
ReplyDeleteLovely poem and page Yvonne, spectacular colours.xx{aNNie}
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely poem. Sweet pages, the squirrels are so cute. In our part of the States, we call woodchucks ground hogs. They are very cute, but can be mean and destructive.
ReplyDeleteA really lovely autumn image you created, so sweet the squirrel family. I also like the touch of gold on the punched flowers.
ReplyDeleteDear Greetings
Sabine
Love those wildflowers against the warm layered background - and the squirrels are delightful.
