Summer on a winters day

Depending on where you live in our world, you may be  enjoying some warm summer weather,
So I am sending some sunshine
to  friends who like me are experiencing our cold frosty, winter weather..

I will be calling in to say hello to friends over at Bleubeard and Elizabeths, where each Tuesday we are given a very warm welcome  when we share a drinks related post.
Crayons, inks, stencils and washi tape were all used on this page . I added the sunny scene which was torn from an old gifted calendar .
I did stamp the flowers but ended up re stamping and fussy cutting the flower heads.

Santa joined me for a cuppa today, before he has his busiest day of the year. . The evergreen plants  close  to the house  are still looking healthy
although most of our trees are bare.
I pondered at first on how to get a photo without reflections  of  the  well lit lounge with its open door, but gave up,  it  looked interesting as if there  was a door opening in the garden.
The light does strange things at this time of the year.

Thank you all for stopping by, its very much appreciated at this busy time of the year.

I will also link my journal page to
Bleaubeard and Elizabeth's
theme...Tis the season or My favourite Season.. over at

  1. There's a bright and cheery glow from your page today Yvonne with it's summertime yellows. There's lots of beauty to be found within it. It's all hustle and bustle here, thought i'd pop on over before the day begins as most of mine will be spent helping my Mom get her Christmas in gear, with her shop and delivery of gifts.
Happy T Day Hugs Tracey xx

  4. That's a gorgeous page Yvonne, love the sunny colours. We've got sunshine and mild temps here today, so that's great! Love your robin mug, just right for winter, especially with the cheery Santa. Happy T Day, hugs, Valerie

  5. What a lovely, bright and sunny page, Yvonne - it's lovely to think of Spring and summer while surrounded by cold and wind! We didn't get snow, thankfully, but it does always look nice. I love the door in the garden, too - a bit like the wardrobe in Narnia and very intriguing ;-)

  7. Oh I love this page so much, it reminds me of Kansas in America. Our heat in Houston is not that butter-yellowy. Ours is more like silver or steel. IF heat had a color, haha. I see gauzy curtains wafting in the breeze. Well, I guess the connection to Kansas is that the State Flower is the sunflower. I completely believe your light does strange things. I visited London in Junetime and was amazed you could see the Northern Lights glow from Westminster. xoxo

  8. Such a happy sunshiny page! I love the bright yellow and how you encorporated all the elements together- stunning 😁. Santa look very jolly on your table and I adore your robin mug - perfect! We bought a new bird feeder last week which holds fat balls and our resident robin seems to be enjoying them (grin!). Wishing you a happy T Day and a very Merry Christmastime too! J 😊 x

  14. This is a fabulous journal entry, Yvonne. I love the sunny flowers and the attention you paid to them by fussy cutting them. It's all in the details and you have made it special with the sunny day. Thank you beyond belief for sharing this with us at Art Journal Journey. I can't believe how supportive you have been of this theme this month, dear.

I also have trouble with light at this time of year. My blinds make it look like my pages are behind bars. I love your adorable garden and the charming Santa, but most of all, I love the little bird on your tea mug. Thanks for sharing your art and tea with us for T this Tuesday, dear.

  15. Yvonne i can feel the warmth from your page.. like a lot of people it seems we are having a very mild winter thus far too.. The old wives tale of the Persimmon seed is not holding true this year... If you open up the seed and the center looks like a knife the winter will be biting cold.. if it looks like a fork it will be an icy winter if it looks like a spoon .. you guessed it you will be shoveling snow.. and this year alot of people saw spoons... So we'll see.. Winter is only half over.. lol Merry Christmas! Hugs! deb

  16. Lovely page, Yvonne. Bloom has been my word of the year. So it was very neat for me to come upon your Bloom page as the year comes to a close.

Love your little bird cup. The old style Santa is really special.

Happy T-day and Merry Christmas! Eileen xoxo

  18. An unexpected sunny day! I just love this.
The light is so different here just now, more dull but clear pinks and blues in the sky, and everything more muted.
I just love that square of scenery and the pattern and flowers you have added all around. You have made this style of collage/painting your very own.

  19. Glorious sunshine warmth is just bursting from this page. I love the sunflower scene and beautiful clouds at the heart of it - what a lucky find - and your framing washi, inks and stencils blend into it so well.
