Winter's garden birds are always welcome .
It can be cold, grey, frosty, yet they call in and if we are lucky they will sing their own song.
I did remember to take a couple of photos in the making of this page. The base had a few random stamps.
Next came a torn robin picture from an old calendar.
I added some texture stencils of winter foliage and decided not to add colours. It was when I added the words that I added a little distress oxide shading.
For December our lovely hosts
have set the new theme for the month at
Tis the Season or My Favourite Season
For this page I chose Winter as a Favourite season.
I'm not sure I can say I do have an actual favourite, but as the month goes by I know I am going to enjoy this theme.
Thank you for calling in today to see me, you are always welcome here
This is so beautiful! The textured part looks like real snow! So cool!
ReplyDeleteA wonderful page for Elizabeth's theme and I can see that it fortunately works now with the Linky tool! Super!

ReplyDeleteThis is really lovely, Yvonne. I'm glad you showed us how you made it as I was wondering that very thing when I saw the first photo. I like the pure white textured stencilling too.
ReplyDeleteA wonderful wintry page Yvonne. x
ReplyDeleteI love this - the white textured holly boughs are so cool (definitely inspired by that look) and the little robin is adorable. There's a real wintry crisp freshness to the whole page.

This is stunning, Yvonne. Love the texture but I absolutely adore the robin - my second favourite bird :-) They have a habit of recognising sadness and making their presence known just when you need it. Very special birdies, even if they can be vicious!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous.

Fabulous texture in this wintry page. Love the bird 💙
ReplyDeleteI'm going to start calling you the queen of texture, Yvonne. You do more with stencils and molding paste than anyone I know. Add to that the precious bird you found in an old calendar and you have a true gem. It's a fabulous first entry at Art Journal Journey and I'm so glad you shared it with us.
ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful page Yvonne! I love seeing robins and this one looks all fluffed up against the cold! Hugs, Chrisx
