Spring

A page for Bleubeard and Elizabeths theme
My favourite season or Tis the season over at
This page has me thinking back to the blue skies of late spring into summer as the days get brighter and longer. Good thoughts to have on a cold grey day like it is here  today.

The   photo  is quite close  to the actual colours I used.  A water coloured and inky base, and stenciled blossoms, I also  used  white  modeling paste,
leaving it uncoloured as I hoped it would look a bit like spring blossoms.

I stamped and fussy cut a dragon fly
[All&Create stamps] and added some small Crafty Individuals  pictures from my stash showing a pretty bluebell wood.

I did add the stitching in the digital program I use. I would love to use my old sewing machine, but it needs work and I cannot even  thread the needle, so I opt for the easy option for me.

Thank you for stopping by, your visit is very much appreciated .

  1. Beautiful page, just a few months now and it will be spring! I bought a new sewing machine a few years back and it threads the needle automatically, what a joy! Hugs, Valerie

  3. I like all about this fantastic page - it makes me dreaming of spring! Amazing textures and your digistitching is fabulous! We got 15 cms of snow and it's extremly cold....

  4. I so love the faux sewing. I wish I had the digital skills you possess, because then I could use them to sew onto my pages, too.

I adore the dragonfly and the way you used the watercolors and the texture paste. This is an amazing and beautiful entry, a great composition, and great colors. Thanks so much for sharing this spring inspired art using my theme at Art Journal Journey, dear Yvonne.

  5. Oh a wonderful page - the colours remind me of those fabulous springtime dusks as the season turns to summer - those gorgeous purples and lilacs in the sky as well as the lilac blossom on the trees and bluebells in the woods. Lovely.

  8. This is gorgeous Yvonne. I love the bright colors and the spring theme. I could use that now which might be why it is so appealing, but I don't mean that I don't love it, and would love it even if it was spring. Hope your day is going well. Hugs-Erika

  9. This is really beautiful with the lovely turquoisy blue which I can never quite capture by camera. The little landscapes are far from the landscape and weather here, but I enjoy both. This is definitely a big favourite.

  12. Ah spring......its a bit like that here at the moment despite the fact that we are at 1750m and in a ski resort! The temperature is quite amazing in full sun (high 20s- low 30s!) no snow due this week so I'm enjoying reading on the terrace most afternoons
