I did remember to take a couple of photos as I created this page, in my 8 x 8 inch journal, but I was having fun and the camera was forgotten.
I used an older distress ink pad for the background. .
Next I placed positioned the owls, they had been torn from an old calendar.
I used a Tim Holtz stencil using a couple of green distress oxide shades. .
Die cut wild flowers were added next, a scrap of lace and material flowers.
The insects were computer generated and last of all I added the quote in the computer program I use.
Thank you for stopping by today,
you are always very welcome here.

ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful page - I love it! The way you created the background with the ink pad is amazing and I adore your owl image 😁. I apologize for visiting late, but this has been a very emotional day in my world. I adore your owls. They are fun. I was so glad you showed us how you made your background, which was actually stunning.
ReplyDeleteI need to mention your new header. It looks great. And I do love your owl page. First of all I love owls, and secondly, I like all the paper laying you did on this piece. What a cool collage page you made. Hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteWonderful page, great background.
ReplyDeleteLove those background layers Yvonne, almost like a weave. Those die cuts and embellishments frame your 8 x 8 so beautifully, such a lovely piece of things with wings journaling.

A super page and it is wonderful to see some work in progress stages too! It is so easy to forget, but always great to see how exactly something came together!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous work and love those fluffed up wings, great journal as always and so inspiring...
ReplyDeleteThose owls are utterly delightful, and I love the die cut flowers, perfectly positioned. So sorry I've been missing so much... I really hope to do some proper catching up soon.

Wow Yvonne, when I saw this on TioT, I fell in love! The look of textural weave fooled my eye. And in all my years of mixed media play, you've shown me a fabulous way to hide paper collage edges! Thank you! Always when I paint them, something is amiss, never thought of stenciling or texture paste but of course! *slaps head* Going to try this as soon as I can get a day free. xoxo
ReplyDeleteMe again Yvonne. Sure wish you would add the blogger widget to your sidebar that lets me sign up to get your posts via email! Wish Hint Wish! heehee ;-) xoxo
