Happiness is...... Tea and teapots

Hello to everyone who calls in to see me today,
 it's T stands for Tuesday
and we are always made welcome  with a drinks related post at

I will begin  by mentioning where the idea for this journal page came from.
I was reading an article in a Daphne's Diary magazine,  about an artist called Maria Pace-Wynters and the picture [ left] just inspired me to make a version to share on T day and at AJJ.
I had made myself  a pot of tea and it was good to sit and read for a while.

I started by painting the page shades of blue.
The woman I
used is  a Jane Davenport image on tissue.
Next a bit of fussy cutting for the stacked cups and butterflies, also found in  old magazines

I added the words and a scattering of daisies in the computer program I use.

I will be joining the folk over at
Gill's theme of.........Inspired by....

If the article in the magazine hadn't inspired me this photo on the right  , taken when we were in Yorkshire in May
in the Tea Pot factory]Leybourne] certainly did.
We had visited last year and I felt just the same
 this year....
a kid in a sweet shop not knowing where to look next.

Of course I couldn't resist taking  more photos of the teapots waiting to find homes in the shop.

I'll leave you with a view of the other side of my mug and the new tea pot my hubby bought for me while in the factory shop. An everyday kind of pot, which I fell for when I saw the bicycles.
Part of our trip away was to see the Tour de Yorkshire cycle race.

Happy Tuesday everyone,
I hope you have a lovely day.

  2. I would have to buy a teapot. But how to pick just one? I actually have one of those dog teapots, which was fun to spot. But some of those others, or the mugs, are so much fun. I'm with you. I'd be a kid in a candy shop there. And I do love your tea art for today. Adding those butterflies was a very smart addition! Hope you have a wonderful T day. Hugs-Erika

  8. Fabulous post Yvonne.. firstly your AJJ page I love LOVE this - beautiful colour and beautiful imagery and great quote - perfect! Funny enough I am picking up Jane Davenports latest book on drawing girls this week.
I hadn't heard of the artist from the magazine that inspired so I will look her up next (thanks).
That collection of mugs and teapots were really fabulous - the work that must gone into the making of them - wow - but I wouldn't want to use anything as nice as those in case they got chipped or worse still dropped.
Thanks for sharing what inspired you and joining in at AJJ.... and thanks for the info on that plant too.
Happy Tuesday... have a great day..
    Gill xx

  10. Fab journal page. The butterfly on the lovely lady makes me think she's wearing a fascinator to a fancy tea party. I loved seeing all the teapots. Some are just so clever. My favorites were the ones with cats on them. And the Alice in Wonderland. Your souvenir teapot is cute and your mug with the wishes painted all over. Happy T Day
