Have you every had days, when all the plans
you started out to do
just flew away....
This last weekend has been just like that for us....
Saturday.... A visit to
Kirkharle Courtyard
Kirkharle village is where Capability Brown was born.
There is now a complex of small artisan shops, and a tea room
and lovely country side walks in the area,,,
This building housed a few of the small shops, last time we went they were all open, a sign of the times with only 2 open. when we visited today.
This green door leads to the cafe. The cafe, not fully open for the day and as you can see it was another grey N.E. English day.
We decided to take a few photos and head back home.
The pump stands near the center of the courtyard and no doubt would possibly still work if, labour and money were spent
Some one with a sense of humour had parked up this rusty bike in the shrubbery.
A view over the fields to a lovely working farm, its that the weather getting better. ?
No, that's storm clouds about to roll over the hill,
even the sheep were not impressed.
even the sheep were not impressed.
A wise idea to head off ........
Home..... to sit in the warm and watch the end of the year Tennis World championships on TV.
Sunday Morning
Maybe a bit of crafting and finish off a few Christmas cards.

Sunday Morning
Maybe a bit of crafting and finish off a few Christmas cards.
I have kept to a CAS style for many of my cards this year, especially those that have to be posted.
In case you wonder,
I was very careful with my cup of tea, it stays well out of the way, but I did want to share with you a photo my winter Robin mug.
Sunday afternoon was spent preparing for the family meal.
My Sunday ended with us allwatching the Tennis finals, with Andy Murray winning the title.
Another weekend flew by.
A warm welcome to all the friends who stop by from
Bleubeard and Elizabeth's
where on Tuesdays its T Day

ReplyDeletesuch lovely views of the English countryside-despite those threatening clouds. Sounds like a nice weekend all around. And your cards are really lovely as is that darling mug! Happy T day.
ReplyDeleteThose weekends have a way of flying by don't they? I really enjoyed your photo's of the countryside and the moody looking skies. Your cup with the bird is lovely
ReplyDeleteYour Robin mug is beautiful - I love it! You visited such a lovely place with it's wonderful views of the countryside and the charming buildings :-). I like the Brusho background on your Christmas card - stunning! Stay warm and wishing you a Happy T Day! J :-)
ReplyDeleteI recently read about Capability Brown on another friend's blog when he "visited" Kew Gardens. Looked good for his age, too (grin). To see his birth place makes the story more interesting. I wonder how many Americans know his history and how he changed the face of architectural landscaping forever. Too bad the economy and hard times have caused this to be a less than appealing attraction. Still, it meant a lot to me!
ReplyDeleteI love your cards. You and Chris have the same mindset about cards, especially ones that must be sent in the mail. These are gorgeous.
Thank you for sharing your lovely robin mug, your gorgeous cards, and your trip to Capability Brown's birthplace with us for T this Tuesday.
Oh i enjoyed visiting you for T today... Love your photos... I like to walk around little shops too...was sorry yours were not open... Love the mug and thank you for reminding me to get on my Christmas cards!! Happy happy Tday! Hugs! deb

A shame the weather was so dreary, but that little bird on your cup would be a welcome sight coming home to. So sweet! Happy T Tuesday!
ReplyDeleteHow interesting. I had to Google Capability Brown as I had never heard of him. (Why not?) What lovely photos. Yes, typical North English landscape plus weather. We have had rain today. Hurrah! The fist proper rain in six months! We surely need it.
ReplyDeleteWe'd gladly have some of yours.
Happy T-Day,
Hugs,
Lisca
Lookslike a wonderful place to visit Yvonne and maybe even better in summer
ReplyDeleteHope T day went well for you

I think you had a full day out on Saturday. Watching tennis is always a good way to spend some time. Too bad there wasn't much open when you visited. And your Christmas cards are coming along fantastic. I love the winter robin mug too. Hope it was a great T day. Hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteLovely pictures of Kirkharle, it's a few years since I visited, It was just before Christmas and the tea room had some yummy food. Most of the little shops were open, such a shame if they've closed now.
