First of all I am sharing this collage page, made for
where this time Susi has added a twist to her theme, no wings, leaves or faces
I started off with a page I had been colouring in.
It wasn't something I was happy with,
but I am getting into the colouring mode,
it keeps the hands active.
I had a base layer prepared and photo saved.
So with a bit of digital trimming
and added bits and pieces, it ended as the fun collage you see above.
Which take me to my next topic,
a visit to............
Belsay Hall
The hall is about 12 miles from where we live, its gardens are lovely all year round.
However it is completely empty inside, making it an ideal place for events.
This past weekend it held a Festive gift fair.
Sadly I was unable to get any photos of the stalls,
poor lighting and stall holders who were not happy at the idea of photos being taken.
So I will share a few I managed to get in the gardens

The weather wasn't friendly either
Sunshine and showers were the order of the day
No one wanted to sit out today and neither did we.
The stable block was bathed in sunshine as were leaving
This is the digital collage page I made to remind us of our day out
and to share with friends over at
I love a cream tea, its a real treat,
but I often hear the question of how do you load your scone.
Is it butter, jam, cream. or. cream then jam. or jam them cream?
For me it has to be jam then cream.
Thank you for calling in, you are very welcome and I hope you all have a Happy Day today.

Looks like a wonderful place to visit, sorry that neither the weather nor the stallholders were kind to you. But I'm sure the cream tea made up for it. Lousy weather here, too, so need to pack myself up well before I go out! Happy T Day, Hugs, Valerie
ReplyDeleteThe original colouring looks great to me Yvonne - but that said I love how you have used it to create a beautiful collage with a gorgeous background :)
ReplyDeleteYour day out and photos looked fun despite a few set backs... and yep I agree, jam first then the cream - yummy!
Have a great day and thanks for the lovely comments yesterday.. Dave put lots of garlic, chilli and onion in the food so feeling better today... Gill xx
Wow- that is a gorgeous Hall. The gardens are amazing, even in November. I can't image what it would have been like to live in one of this big old estates. And your castle page for AJJ is a lot of fun. I love those playful towers. I hope you have a great T day and maybe another scone too. :) Hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteThe row of houses are so cute and whimsical, and love the digi page you made with them. Pretty gardens you went to see, perfect page to remember it by too.
ReplyDeleteI think Belsay looks absolutely beautiful despite the weather. Your colored page was such a wonderful addition to your gorgeous collage! Nice page to remember your visit to Belsay too. Happy T day!
ReplyDeleteLooks like you had a wonderful time with your friends - who could resist a festive gift fair, beautiful gardens and a cream scone with strawberry jam! I always put cream first then jam on my scone, which pleses my friends in Devon as this is the way they eat their scones :-) I love both your collage pages, especially the one reminding you of the fun you had with your friends! Wishing you happiness this T Day! J :-)
ReplyDeleteYour page is just super Yvonne! Thanks a lot for another fab entry to AJJ this month and this trip must have been great. Belsay looks wonderful !
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't mind cream then jam. or jam them cream- at least a cream scone with jam!!! Yeah!!!!
Good that I had a fantastic slice of danube waves just now, otherwise I would dream of a scone now...
but quite enough calories for me now after a substantial lunch!
Happy T-Day!

I was super impressed with your AJJ entry. It's a gorgeous take on a castle.
ReplyDeleteToo bad the vendors were unkind to you. I can't begin to imagine not having the ability to take a few photos inside, especially if you paid to visit. However, the grounds were incredible and remarkable. I SO loved your Belsay page you made to remember the day. It was wonderful.
BUT, I have a question. What is "cream?" Cream to me is something I put in my coffee, not chunks as shown in your wonderful photo. If it's clotted cream, it is considered butter in the states and, although often considered unhealthy by nutritionists, something that would keep me from ever, ever being a vegan!
Thanks for sharing your castle, you day at Belsay, and your jam and cream with tea this T Tuesday.
awesome Collage with your beautiful houses! scones are not popular here, but i think i would like both variations! happy t-day!
ReplyDeleteLovely AJ collage. Thanks for sharing the interesting photos.
ReplyDeleteHugs ❤
I'd want to try the scone every possible way, of course, in order to choose the proper way... and in order to eat more scones ;) Happy T Tuesday (oh, those grounds are beautiful!)
ReplyDeleteVery beautiful page Yvonne and such a nice place you visited.
ReplyDeleteLove the collage you made for T day as well
Chrissie xx
Lovely journal page Yvonne, pleased you had a great day out.
ReplyDeleteLove the hybrid piece you created. Lovely photos too!
ReplyDeleteI love your hybrid collage.....such cute houses.
ReplyDeleteI would have loved to see the inside of the building, but I understand the people not wanting photos of their work. I usually tell them it is for my blog and explain our T-day ritual......some still say no....but I try. LOL
Happy T-day
Happy T Day Meggy! I love your artjournal collage page. So pretty! .. Thank you for sharing the pictures of the garden too... When i go to crafting events I find that if i offer to put their website and info with the photo on my blog they are more open to having a pic taken...might drum them up some business.. :) Happy happy Tday Meggy! Hugs! deb
ReplyDeleteWhat fabulous journal page! I love the colourful castle! Belsay castle looks interesting ! Yes - jam then cream although I much prefer just butter! Hugs, Chrisx
ReplyDeleteSo so wonderful Page Yvonne !! You have created so wonderful houses, love them !! The photos you show us are fabulous, fantastiques views !! Happy rest of the week, big hugs.
ReplyDeleteTwo fabulous pages Yvonne, and Belsay's gardens are lovely. Cream tea.....yummy - for me it has to be butter, jam and cream.
ReplyDeleteHugs, Avril xx
What a great journal page! I also like the three towers you made originally.
ReplyDeleteThank you for taking us to Belsay. The gardens look beautiful, even in this season. A shame the stall holders were not that friendly about being photographed..
Cream tea! I dream of it sometimes. I just love clotted cream, and I don't care about the jam first or cream first. I think I put cream on first, a good thick layer of it and then I put the jam on. And I use half a scone at a time so I can really pile it on!
Happy T-Day,
Thank you for your kind comment,
Lisca
Love your fantasy castle Yvonne, great mix of colouring and digital crafting. Can't beat a crafty day ou followed by a cream tea! I'm with you on jam first!!

I like your page, well all your art actually. There is something about houses that seem to go with so many themes. I also enjoyed Belsay. It must have been fun to visit the craft fair there.

A fabulous journal page Yvonne and wonderful photos of your day out. It's definitely jam then cream for me too xxx
ReplyDeleteWonderful page Yvonne. Belsay Hall looks amazing. TFS the photos. Jam and then the cream for me.
ReplyDeleteHugs Flo x
Beautiful page Yvonne. The original image was fun, but the finished page is wonderful, with a sort of fantasy feel to it! What a great old structure to have events in. Bet they film a horror movie or two in there with all the old bricks and those itty bitty windows. lol. :)
ReplyDeleteLove your collage for today!!! Coloring can be so relaxing ♥ I've been doing it with my grandchildren for years, ordering the books online . So happy that they have become poplar and easier to find now. :) The grandkids are older but we still color at family gatherings and the other adults have joined in too. Even my 86 yr. old mother has joined in. beautiful gardens you visited while going to the art fair.
ReplyDeleteVery beautiful page Yvonne !! Beautiful colors .
ReplyDeleteThe three towers looks amazing Love It .
Greetings Doris
