A springtime wedding

A spring wedding page for Jo's theme over at
The first layers on the page were torn scraps of pattern  paper
and the scene which was from an old calendar .

I  remembered to take this photo as I was  wondering where to place my found relatives.
By this time I had added some stencils, one with modelling paste , both shaded with distress inks.
I finished the page in the digital program I use.
The quote  was one by John Lennon, which was computer generated.

Thank you for calling in to see me today, you are always very welcome here.

Happy's on sticks

Something more colourful again today.
I showed you a photo of the music paper , in my last post beside my cuppa
[its still there on my desk]  and said I would share the results later.

I used my 8 x 8 inch Kraft Journal
A painted base,   a torn music sheet, modeling paste through a stencil, fussy cut  stamped images [Paper Artsy and All&create].
I coloured the additions with water coloured pens.
The parts that still look  white  have been  dusted with  a pale pink shade of distress ink

A bright  page to celebrate  and I say this quietly, that spring is showing its beauty and making folk feel happy to see even the smallest of flowers  making an appearance in the gardens.
make me smile.

I will be linking this page to,
where the theme is Colour.

I hope its not to colourful to join Jo's theme at
Hello Springtime.

Thank you for stopping by today, you are always very welcome here.

Springtime miracles

Hello everyone calling in to see me today.

I am still slowly using up some mop up second generation pages in my journal,
the butterfly stencil was used here and I think you would agree that there was far to much colour on it to waste.
I even mopped up the paint that I was colouring the die cut flowers with. The sentiment is an old rubber stamp .

Each spring we see flowering miracles in our gardens  and perhaps take them for granted.

The top two photos on the left  show some early  spring flowers in my garden . The pot  welcomes folk to my home on the front steps.

At last my photo with  reference to T Day over at

where we are always made very welcome  with a drinks relates post.
But this is work in progress and I will share it  soon, it will be a bit more colourful than today's page.

On the left is a photo of a digital collage  page I  have just shared my other blog  for a weekly challenge
 I try to enter.
It does have a cup of coffee on a tin. In case my coffee drinking friends  wonder I do occasionally  drink coffee . Coffee is the choice of my family, its me who drinks the tea.

My journal page at the top of the post  I will be linking to Jo's theme..... Hello Springtime  at

I am also adding a reminder for our current theme  at Try it on Tuesdays
Say it with flowers.

Thank you for stopping by, I hope you have a lovely day.

Out of the shadows....

Colour....
is theme over at Moo Mania and More.
I am really happy using colour in my journals  so this theme really appealed to me.

I began   by  spraying some yellow paint onto the blank page, then used  modeling past
through  a stencil [one of Leonie's]
When dried out I used distress oxides and cotton buds to colour the face. I didn't want  to try my luck with pens to bring out the features, the surface wasn't very smooth
More   shading  to cover the white area and one of my favourite TH stencils.
I used Lynne's affirmations word stamps.

Thank you for calling in, you are always welcome here.

Floral smiles

Its really lovely to see some colour in the gardens as we hopefully move into Spring
I have created another page for Jo's theme
Hello  Springtime over at

I used some modelling paste to add texture to the stencil I  was using.
There had been I think some wiped over  wax crayon on the page to begin with. After it had dried out I coloured with distress oxide inks.
More fussy cut flowers and a few home made leaves, I am not a natural artist so they are a bit on the basic messy side.

I thought this quote was appropriate to how I feel when   I see a bit of colour in the garden.

Thank you for stopping by to see me, I hope you all  have a good day.

Say it with flowers at TioT's

Say it with flowers is our new theme over at

I used a heavy weight card as my base, just adding   a pasted stencil and leaving  it white.
Quite unusual for me to do this, but  the theme said....
........'say it with flowers'  so I am.

I used a  selection of die cut spring flower stems, with a little water colour and acrylic shading. The edge of the white card was shaded with distress ink , the card layered up, finishing with a simple tag and a bow.

I hope you will join us at TioT's, the  DT have created  fantastic examples. Please pop over for all the details.

Thank you for calling in to see me today,
you are always very welcome here.

Spring greens and friendship trees

Hello everyone and to friends from
T stands for Tuesdays
we are always made very welcome with a drinks related post.

This journal page I am also going to share with friends over at
Art Journal Journey
for Jo's theme
Hello Springtime.

A base  started with shades of green inks and watercolours, some random stamping, a stencil to use up some paste from another project.
I love how this gal is holding her cuppa,  I think she is enjoying her tea. As its tea day with friends I thought it was a nice sentiment to use. Friends mean a lot to me, my family I choose for myself.
I did try to fussy cut a tree to add to the page, oooops....
a few unmentionable  words later and I took to the digital program I use. This tree is a piece of  fancy ribbon and some woolen spirals. Which I will replicate later, in real life to complete the page .

We had  [say this quietly]  some sun yesterday, so I managed to get a few photos from my garden. Its quite messy after the winter. but there is lots of green showing through.

The daffodils  have taken quite a battering in the winds we have had recently, I went higher up the garden for this photo, if I had taken the shot from the patio, it would only have shown the leaves.
There is  bit of a slope in this part of the garden, but its not as steep as it looks here.

The bird feeder basket   needs a refill as the birds  called in earlier for a morning feast.

Where I didn't expect to see any colour I found some on  this shrub next to the fence starting to flower.

Thank you for calling in to see me today, you are always very welcome here.

St Patricks Day

Happy St Patrick's Day

If you celebrate today I hope it will be a good one for you.

This is the  digital postcard I made between watching the last of the Six Nations Rugby matches
on Television yesterday.  If you like this sport it was one amazing day . The results are here.

Another page resulting from my recent play day
for Jo's Hello Springtime  theme  over at....

The base  was mop up distress colours and some stencils,  they all seemed to blend  together  reasonably well. The fern  and other images are All&create stamps. I did fussy cut the dragon fly. and coloured it with ink pens. I computer generated the words which were part of the fern stamp and hadn't inked  up well enough to read.
The blues and green shades do have me thinking of springtime, even though it has been grey,
wet sometimes snowy and very windy these past few days.

Thank you for calling in, your visit is always  appreciated.

Just different....... and maybe a bit crazy

More play day shares today
First of all this tag made for the new theme. 'Hares and Rabbits'  at....

This was created in the digital program I use. [ notes in my side bar]

................................................

Now for something  a bit more hands on and messy.

I have lots of  pages that need  using up.
I probably started them off with an idea in mind, that somehow lost its way on the day.

The center photo on the left is where I picked up this page.

Stencils for the base and and AAll&create stamp.
Lets call her Freya.

I added the Dylusions image,  Freya's feisty alter ego, who is far from sweet and lovable.
So who's  the genius and who's the crazy one.
Perhaps I  would say Freya,   for putting up with her alter ego as she really does like the quite gentle way of life.

I added the row of houses and extra  colours in the computer program I use.  Look close and It could be their minds met in the middle on neutral grounds.

Enough rambling from me today,
I hope you are all  having a good day  and I appreciate you calling by
to see what I have been making.

Sitting pretty, its not a day to fly.

What do you do when its blowing a gale outside,   and its really cold.....answer.....
go into the craft room and have a play.
My little bird is also hoping for better weather.
I had to smile at a few of the brave birds landing in the garden this morning. Usually they look quite graceful as they swoop down and land, today  I think a few had quite a wobble and  chose to stay around longer than usual before they flew away.

On the left is how it all began. Splashes of paint,  some random stamping as well.  The flowers stamped direct on to the page but the  bird and leaf  were   fussy cut , then  water coloured. These images  are all Carabelle stamps.
I added more shading with distress oxide inks.
The stamped border  [AALL&creaet images]  isn't neatly coloured, but I quite liked the effect.
Last of all the  Springtime word was computer generated.

I will be joining  Jo's ...Hello Springtime..... theme at

Thank you for calling in to see me today, you are always very welcome here.

Planners and a brew.

Its Tuesday and its T Day over st

Each week we gather and are made very welcome with a Drinks related post.
As you see Mr Robin was  my choice  of cup today, filled with my favourite brew.

Its been a few weeks since I finished my weekly diary journal pages and I have to admit to
being a bit slow in sharing how I plan to note the days events this year,
Up until mid February it was in a plain  desk diary, which is useless for paint and inks additions.
I saw this planner on line and eventually found one. for myself.
So this is how it begins....

The planner  gives the prompts for each of the seasons,
I used stamps for my own additions to the pages.

I had room to spare for February  due to the late start for the month.

This is March
It may be a small note from myself each day, but at least
I have made a start with a crafty play diary  for the year.
So far it seems to take  watercolours and the ink I use on my  stamps.
Time will tell  how it works out with other colour mediums.

I am adding my pages to Jo's theme Hello Springtime.... over at
 Art Journal Journey's
Thank you for the prompt  Susi and Jo

Thank you for calling in and I hope you all have a good day.

Look for the flowers

Well we had snow again today, but thankfully it  hasn't lasted for long.
So I was able to spend some time in my craft room, crating a page that looks a little warmer and promises me that spring may come soon. Although the TV weather forecasters say  there is more snow to come tonight for us.

This was how the page began, with a  yellow mop up base, some stencils. The flowers were fussy cut, then water coloured.

I will link my page  to these challenges

for  Jo's theme Hello Springtime.

also tp.......

the theme is...
Close to Nature

Apologies about my comments, there is still  seems to be gremlins about.
Sometimes my comments don't post on folks blogs and then sometimes only a portion of what I write shows up and the post makes no sense.  Add to that a few spelling mistakes like sss ... showing for ...xxx or k's instead of l's  etc  Crazy  days.!! is a mild way to describe  it.

Thank you for calling in to see me today, you are always very welcome here.

A moment to enjoy

One of the pleasures of having a garden and living close to woodland  is to  hear
the birds singing their morning chorus.
It is a sure sign that spring is on its way.

I started the page with a pieces torn from a napkin,  perhaps hoping that soon I will have more flowers in the garden, besides the snowdrops and daffodils.

The trees are now getting there new leaves,
so next I added the stencils, then  another of my fussy cut birds.

The words were computer generated.
I used distress oxides and water colour paints for shading.

I will be linking my page to......

Favourite stamp?

The current challenge theme over at
Tag Tuesday is.......
My Favourite Stamp

oh dear how do I choose one?

However I do have an all time favourite that never gets put away, its always on my desk.....an old French script  stamp by Hero Arts.
The base of the tag is stencils and the tag is  close to the actual colours as it wasn't a good light for photographs when I took this one on the left.. I used distress inks and oxides to colour the tag and the bird is  from a Dina Wakley set that I am enjoying using these past few days.

Thank you for calling in today, you are always welcome here.

Inspired by a Word.... at TioT's

'
'ART'.....
is the word  I chose for my interpretation of the new theme.......

'Inspired by a word'
 over at ...

This is the only photo that I remembered to take .  I was  having fun and  is one of the things   'art'  means to me.   I am  escaping the world in my craft room. It may not be art in the true sense of the word, but its my kind of art and I am happy
The background includes smooshed distress colours, stencils, washi tape and stamping.
The flowers are  Carabelle images but I cannot name the maker of the sentiment.
The final edge grey'black and random line squiggles  to my page was added in the digital program I use.

Thank you for calling in today,
I hope you will join our theme at TioT's, the girls have shared some amazing inspirational projects, please pop over for all the details.

Its Tuesday and its T day

My first photo today is  a journal page   for Jo's theme..... Hello Springtime .... over at
 I used my 8 x 8 inch Kraft journal.
The base is simply torn papers. The fussy cut cat  and birds pictures  from a magazine.
I  loved this happy looking cat, it made me smile.
Splashes of paints a small amount of stenciling, I added the words  via the computer.

They weren't the words I intended to use, but this afternoon I received some mail
that did make me feel very happy.
Spring shows itself in many ways.

Travelling many miles to get here  this is the beautiful hanging that arrived
from Bleubeard , Squiggles and  Elizabeth.
It was  huge surprise.

Thank you so much for sending me  a piece  of your awesome  art , it will be treasured .

I have pinned it  in my craftroom where I can see it  as I am  working/playing, but not in direct daylight as I don't want to let the sunlight [when it chooses to arrive again]  fade the beautiful colours.

Now before I forget I must say hello to  everyone calling in to see me today.

Its Tuesday and that means its
T stands for Tuesday  over at
and we are always made  very welcome with a drinks related post

More fussy cutting in this photo ,  it was stamped images of birds ,
but it will be a  couple of weeks or so until this particular bird makes an appearance on my blog.
He needs time for his leg to mend as I cut it off and by then I decided that fussy
cutting for one day was over. His friends   will be used soon.

I have a brew close to my computer now as I type up this post
which I hope to get  scheduled for later today.

Thank you for stopping by and I hope you all have a good day.

Printemps

Jo from Lets art Journal  has chosen the new theme for March over at

it is.......Hello Springtime.

On the left is a photo of the base layers to my page. Torn music paper,  a stencil that I had no idea how it would dry out. I'd picked up gesso instead of modelling paste and it seemed to spread with a will of its own.
I used ink pads for shading, swiping them over the page at random.
The other additions were from the scraps box,  some die cut flowers stems,  a few seed beads for the center of one of the flowers.

The quote was computer generated.
'Nature always wears the colours of the spirit'.

After the sunny but cold days recently in the UK where I live we are back to cold and  strong nearly gale type winds, so I think the spring flowers that are blooming already here will  need to be strong  to survive the  weather , in the coming days.

Thank you for calling in to see me today, you are always very welcome here.
