For me this board said Spring is on its way, pretty flowers ,
blossom on the trees as well as the birds singing in the trees
blossom on the trees as well as the birds singing in the trees
I decided that I would take my inspiration from the colours on the mood board and create a mixed media hybrid page.
Brusho powders sprayed with water for the green shades. I drew in the stalks and leaves then added three patches of colour using a wax crayon that was easy to spread around using a baby wipe. .
A bit of random script stamping and a stamped sentiment. Then it was off to the digital computer program I use to add some flowers to the stalks.
In case you wondered how the page looks in my journal, here it is on the left., I had tried printing out the flowers to fussy cut, but I think my printer is on its last legs, the colours looked muddy and nothing like the colour of my page.
So I stamped some flowers on to the page
and coloured them in.
Not what I intended, but I thought I would share both versions with you today.
I will also join the folk at
Art Journal Journey

How nice to see both versions. Of course I like the first version but I really like the original too, it has the look of Art Deco.

ReplyDeleteI think these are both beautiful Yvonne. They sure feel like spring. Makes me want our snow to melt fast. I don't think it's going to melt that fast though. :( But your flowers bring me joy. Happy spring. Hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteSo many times I am drawn to your work when it appears as a tiny thumbnail on Bloglovin' so this time I thought I would visit you. That journal page at the top is so striking, beautiful work.

I was most impressed with the beautiful artwork you created from Valerie's mood board. Your art is stunning and moving. I also appreciated the really different piece you created from the same background for us at Art Journal Journey. I was truly impressed with both entries and loved seeing the different styles you came up with. Your art is always so clever.
