Friday is Diary Day...... week 11
This next spread in my Dylusions diary has had a complete make over.
I wasn't up to seeing this quirky lady facing me this week. So it was out with the white gesso and the brusho powders.
I did stamp the flowers on the page, but decided to stamp them again, before fussy cutting, colouring and sticking. Water colours and brusho colliding make a terrible mess. Fortunately I had a clean space to stamp the cute bird.
I will add this page to Art Journal Journey
and Rosie's theme of Spring.
Thank you for calling in today, I hope you all have a good weekend.

Beautiful and cheerful page and much better than that lady! Hugs, Valerie
ReplyDeleteI love your wonderful make over - so clever to cover the Lady. The scene is wonderful and I love the cute bird and the fabulous brusho/watercolour background! So happy this fabulous Friday diary pages fit Rosie's Spring theme! Thank you so very much for supporting AJJ again so well - I have way to less for this month- not enough time and ideas here.... Hope I will find some time this weekend for creating some more pages!
ReplyDeleteHappy weekend dear Yvonne!
Hugs, Susi
Your makeover was a great idea, that quirky lady was a bit much, this is so much nicer to look at.x 💖 [Aussie aNNie's Blog]
ReplyDeleteI think you were smart using the gesso. Your cute little bird and those flowers are better for the first week of spring. March is just flying by, isn't it? Happy weekend. Hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteSorry this is brief. I'm having keyboard problems. Wise choice to cover the hideous lady. Love what you did and thank you for also sharing it with us at AJJ.
ReplyDeleteA quick answer to your comment on wages. Those were FANTASTIC wages for the 1920s. It would be like $1500 to $6500 US wages a week today or about $78,000 to $338,000 a year.
ReplyDeletefantastic pages, love the blue backround with the yellow blooms, the little bird is cute.

ReplyDeleteoh this is fantastic Yvonne - and who would have believed what was underneath. How on earth did we ever manage without Gesso before :)
