A bit of everything and Keswick part 2

First of all hello everyone who calls in to see me today.
Its a bit of everything  post ,  I will start with  a journal page .

I used a base layer in my 8 x 8 inch journal.
Lots of stencils inks and general messiness.
The words were computer generated and the  other images were added
from the digital program I use.[notes in my sidebar]
I will be sharing this with the folk at
  Art Journal Journey
and Rosie's theme of Spring
and at
 Try it on Tuesday's
as this page was inspired by the Mood Board that Valerie made for us.

Now for  more photos from our weekend in Keswick, [the last post is here]
I have my cuppa close by as, this is going to be a long post from me today
and I will be joining the T day folk at...
where we are always welcome with a drinks related post.

This batch of photos were taken on my son's phone .
We woke to snow on Sunday morning .

This is Keswick at about 8 a.m.in the morning.

Hardly any footprints on the way to the lake.

A few more footsteps

Derwentwater

So I think you can see from these photos how lovely the lake and the area looked .

I made a digital scrapbook page, using a photo that a passing walker took of  us on Saturday.
Freezing cold, but having  a great time together.

It was an amazing view behind us and quite a drop if you are no good with heights.
It is called Surprise View  on the way to  a Hamlet called Watendlath.

To end off our weekend trip we went to The Lakes Distillery,
which is near Bassenthwaite lake

Those gates looked lovely,
the snow wasn't so bad here
and it  had been cleared away,
apart of the icy cold it was a good destination.
Photos were not allowed inside many
 of the  the buildings.

So, at last I have got to the drinks related part of the post. We had the guided tour  which ended in a tasting session.
Younger son was the driver, so the tonic on the table was for him.
Husband and elder son  enjoyed the Whisky.
They  also tasted the Gin's and the Vodka that they distilled on the site as well.
One small  gin and tonic was enough for me.

By this time it was  time to head off to the restaurant for a very  late lunch. The glasses lined up  had advertising logos but they don't show so well.
The contents by this time were water and cola.

Thank you for calling in to see me  and I hope you all have a good day.

  2. what a beautiful page I really like your scrapbook page too and the lake district is so picturesque with all that snow..we are lucky down here in Liverpool as we only get a flutter much to the annoyance of my sons who want to go sledging in proper snow!

  9. First, I am so sorry I am late visiting. I fell asleep and when I woke, I realized I still had things to do before my friend arrives today from TN to spend time with me. I want to begin with your lovely spring inspired page you shared with us at Art Journal Journey. It is fabulous and I really LOVE the font you chose for the words. It is fabulous.

What a fun trip you and your sons took. Wow, you got a LOT of snow there. Most impressive photos and the one looking out at the unspoiled board walk. It was the one photo that really caught my attention, although I was mesmerized by all of them.

WOW, you certainly did it up proper at the Lakes Distillery. I have never had gin, but I understand it is a very British drink. So glad your son was the designated driver and took his role responsibly, too. What a fun time the four of you must have had.

Thanks for sharing your AJJ entry, your trip to the lake, and your drinks from the Lakes Distillery with us for T this Tuesday. I'll join you with a diet cola, please!

  10. What a wonderful way to see the lakes! I've only ever spent a few days in the Keswick area and was fortunate enough for it to be wall to wall sunshine but it certainly looks beautiful in winter too although I am sure the temperatures were cold! I got pastel pencils from the Derwent Factory which I need to use more often lol. Sally xx

  11. Dear Yvonne your beautiful spring inspired page shared with Art Journal Journey and Try It On Tuesday is just LOVELY ! Thanks for yet another wonderful contribution to AJJ! Thank you very much for the photos of the
lake and this amazing area. And how good to visit the destillery as it was that cold to warm the body from within!I like Gin and I like Vodka, but I don't like Whisky since I get myself drunk from Whiskey to charm away melancholy as I was a girl of 17. Since this time I can't even smell Whiskey...lol! Sounds like a very fun trip with your sons Yvonne! And I love the nice layout you made with the photo of you all ! Thank you for this interesting and delightful post!
Happy belated T-Day - I was out and about with my daughter since they have free off school this week! Easter Holidays!

  12. And Yvonne I forgot to tell you about the quotes --- I always get fantastic quotes at Pinterest or via Google search - I just enter one (key)word and the term quote and voila - I collect the most of them on a Pinterestboard.
I really can recommend Pinterest - in my mind this is the very best source of inspiration in all aspects!

  14. Wow! Those are some really amazing views at the lake.
And your journal page is so lovely. The blue in the background reminds me of a beautiful robin's egg blue, perfect for spring.

  19. The snow almost make it look like an alpine village. I prefer your Spring page. I've had more than enough of cold and snow. Lovely family photo, and the view is spectacular. Derwentwater? Derwent, as in colored pencils? I love the front gate at the distillery. Happy T Day

  21. Beautiful spring page, Yvonne. I love the background and the quote especially.

Keswick looks like such a lovely village. How nice that someone took a photo of you all together on your walk. I think it's quite sad when the (usual) photographer is never in any of the shots. My mother was the one who held the camera and so I have very few photos of her. You made a beautiful scrapbook page to save the memory.

I was VERY late to T this week and am glad to see you're still at the party - lol.

    Happy T-day! Hugs, Eileen

  23. Wonderful Spring page to start off this amazing post Yvonne.

It was wonderful to see Keswick again as I haven't been there since we lived in the Lake District. I have climbed all the mountains and hills in that area and even in the snow at times so it was extra special to see the photographs. Also have stood on the launch at Derwentwater many times usually to do with my kid canoeing escapades.

Thank you for sharing this trip with us.

    Love Chrissie xx

  25. I'm playing catch up..!! Love your 8 x 8 journal page Yvonne with your sweet bird sat upon the prettiest of branches, what a wonder nest that would be. Your weekend photographs are fabulous, so lovely to see a covering of snow even in March. Looks like you had a lovely weekend with your trip to the distillery.
Wishing you a wonderful Easter this weekend.
    Creative wishes Tracey x
