Happy Easter everyone

I am sharing this journal page today,  mainly created using a variety of.
napkins. and some paint splashes.   I didn't paint the base and for me there is some white showing, not a lot,  this was a bit of a test as I love to cover all  the background.
 The words were computer generated.

This is my last page for  this month over at Art Journal Journey
where Rosie's theme has been ......Spring

I have also  made this digital tag  which is also sending  Easter wishes.
I will also join in at.......

where the theme  is.... Happy Easter.

and

Tag Tuesday
where the theme is..... Diamonds are Forever.
I hope Mr Bird  gives  his mate  a sparkling diamond for Easter.

I hope you all have a good weekend
and thank you for calling in to see me today.

Him and Her ....Diary day week 13

Diary Day .... week 13
Where is this year going...week 13 and a quarter of the year has flown by.

This is the starter  page in my journal  diary, another grey one.
it didn't help that it was a dull day when I took this photo.
I coloured with pencils, added a couple of  Paper Artsy stamped images together with  a few stencils and extral added colour.
Which gave this page a real messy look, but I have never been a person who  thinks things should always be neat and tidy.

Thank you for calling in today, you are always welcome here.

A bit of everything and Keswick part 2

First of all hello everyone who calls in to see me today.
Its a bit of everything  post ,  I will start with  a journal page .

I used a base layer in my 8 x 8 inch journal.
Lots of stencils inks and general messiness.
The words were computer generated and the  other images were added
from the digital program I use.[notes in my sidebar]
I will be sharing this with the folk at
  Art Journal Journey
and Rosie's theme of Spring
and at
 Try it on Tuesday's
as this page was inspired by the Mood Board that Valerie made for us.

Now for  more photos from our weekend in Keswick, [the last post is here]
I have my cuppa close by as, this is going to be a long post from me today
and I will be joining the T day folk at...
where we are always welcome with a drinks related post.

This batch of photos were taken on my son's phone .
We woke to snow on Sunday morning .

This is Keswick at about 8 a.m.in the morning.

Hardly any footprints on the way to the lake.

A few more footsteps

Derwentwater

So I think you can see from these photos how lovely the lake and the area looked .

I made a digital scrapbook page, using a photo that a passing walker took of  us on Saturday.
Freezing cold, but having  a great time together.

It was an amazing view behind us and quite a drop if you are no good with heights.
It is called Surprise View  on the way to  a Hamlet called Watendlath.

To end off our weekend trip we went to The Lakes Distillery,
which is near Bassenthwaite lake

Those gates looked lovely,
the snow wasn't so bad here
and it  had been cleared away,
apart of the icy cold it was a good destination.
Photos were not allowed inside many
 of the  the buildings.

So, at last I have got to the drinks related part of the post. We had the guided tour  which ended in a tasting session.
Younger son was the driver, so the tonic on the table was for him.
Husband and elder son  enjoyed the Whisky.
They  also tasted the Gin's and the Vodka that they distilled on the site as well.
One small  gin and tonic was enough for me.

By this time it was  time to head off to the restaurant for a very  late lunch. The glasses lined up  had advertising logos but they don't show so well.
The contents by this time were water and cola.

Thank you for calling in to see me  and I hope you all have a good day.

Springtime in the garden

A mixed media/hybrid journal page to share today with

and Rosie's theme of Spring.

When I started this page, I still had a pile of
'found relative' images on my desk and I had been adding left over  stencil pastes and inks to use for a page  base . The surface has a rather messy texture.  Some lace scraps also were added and here it still sits  unfinished in my journal. I decided to take the photo into the digital program I use and 'hey presto' I got a result that I feel happy to share.

I have seen lots of beautiful spring flowers in my travels around blogland, all that shows in my garden are the snowdrops, but maybe soon I may see more  colour and know that spring has arrived at last.

Thank you for visiting my blog,
 you are always welcome here.

Wilder than the wind.....Diary Day week 12

Friday is Diary Day...... week 12

This weeks journal diary  that started off looking like the photo on the left. Needless to say it needed darkening down and a stencil or two  to give it  an even more inky  messy background.. I really don't 'do' pinks, so this is probably as close as I can get to these colour shades.
I added a piece  from a Jane Davenport tissue and some pieces of washi tape.

I'd like to say a huge thank you for calling in to see me each week  and commenting on my dairy pages. Your continued support really means a lot to me.

Mood Board at TioT's

We have a MOOD BOARD to inspire us at
  Try it on Tuesdays

for our new challenge theme

Please pop over and see how we all interpreted this theme, we would love you to join us  there.

For me this board said Spring is on its way, pretty flowers ,
blossom on the trees as well as  the birds singing in the trees

I decided that I would take my inspiration from the colours on the mood board and create a mixed media hybrid page.
Brusho powders sprayed with water for the green shades. I drew in the stalks and leaves then added  three patches of colour using a wax crayon that was easy to spread around using a baby wipe. .
A bit of random script stamping and a stamped sentiment.  Then it was off to the digital computer program I use to add some  flowers to the stalks.

In case you wondered how the page looks in my journal, here it is on the left., I had  tried printing out the flowers to fussy cut,  but I think my printer is on its last legs,  the colours looked muddy and nothing like the colour of my page.
So I stamped some flowers on to the page
  and coloured them in.
Not what I intended, but I thought I would share both versions with you today.

I will also join the folk at
 Art Journal Journey
for Rosie's theme of...... Spring

Thank you for stopping by, you are always welcome and  your comments are always appreciated.

Digital information can be
found in my sidebar.

Spring outings

I am starting my  post today with a large size  digital  tag for the theme over at

and the theme of  Spring/Easter.
We are not seeing many rabbits in the fields here as yet, they don't seem to like the cold and who can blame theme. But I hope my Easter Bunny will out into some sunny days soon.

***************************
This past weekend we have been staying at Keswick in  the Lake District,  an outing for the family, a place where we all have many happy memories .
As its T day over at

I thought I would share some photos with you all.
A weekend of no  driving for my OH and no cooking to be done by myself.
So how did we begin.... making up hot drinks to take in the car in case we got delayed on the journey.
There was a forecast of snow.

Saturday was a visit to the Slate mine at the top of Honister Pass.
It was blowing an icy gale, but I did manage to get a few photos to share.....
Yes....... the road was that narrow and it does  have a regular bus for     tourists.
It was not a person standing on the wall, it was a figure carved from slate.

Around the visitor center were lots of pieces made  with Slate,
I loved the garden table and  stools beside the tree

Inside  there was an interesting selection of things for sale,
I cannot imagine either of the two wooden chairs being comfortable to sit on.

There were a lot of ceramic pieces for sale as well, I thought this sheep looked cute.

We did have a snack in the cafe but it was quite full. We had a smile as well, the young waitress was obviously new and my son had to help with the amount of change he needed, as he paid in cash. It just shows how much we use our plastic cards these days, cash money seems to be going out of fashion.

So after a lovely  day out,  a few very short walks,
the weather looks better  in the photos
 than it was in reality.
It was so cold I could't feel my fingers to press the button on my camera.
It was back to the hotel for a welcome brew  before meeting up again with our sons for the evening meal.

I will share more photos next time as most were taken by the family and we haven't got them downloaded yet.

One last  crafty photo, I played around with the digital tag and made this page
for my digital journal,
which I will share over at Art Journal Journey
and Rosie's theme of... Spring

Thank you for calling in to see me today , I hope you all have a super day.

Bloom

Friday is Diary Day...... week 11

This next spread in my Dylusions diary has had a complete make over.
I wasn't up to seeing this quirky lady facing me this week. So it was out with the white gesso and the brusho powders.

I did stamp the flowers on the page, but decided to stamp them again, before  fussy cutting, colouring and sticking. Water colours and brusho colliding make a terrible mess. Fortunately I had a clean space to stamp the cute bird.

I will add this page to Art Journal Journey
and Rosie's theme of Spring.

Thank you for calling in today, I hope you all have a good weekend.

Spring and a new look

This is an 8 x 8 inch  digital page I am sharing here  today.  My  purely  digital pages usually  get posted on my other blog but while I was 'playing',
I thought some of the images I was using would make  a new blog header.
Mr Robin is off on his holidays, he is passing his place over to Mr Sparrow.

I will join the folk at
 Art Journal Journey

and Rosie's theme of Spring.

Thank you for calling in today, you are always very welcome here.

Digital information can
be found in my sidebar.

Mr Rabbit

Today's journal page started life in a colouring book.

My first task was to make myself a brew, so I could join up with friends at
where we are always made welcome with a drinks related post

I made  an instant cappuccino  again today, they never get as frothy as the photo on the box, but they do taste  good and make a change to my preferred tea.

Fussy cutting this rabbit was not going to be easy and after much deliberation I  sketched around the shape and cut that out. Mr Rabbit was coloured with pencils
I also needed to cut out some flowers and leaves these were computer generated.. .
The base of the page is Kraft card, which I  roughly coloured with white gesso. Leaf stamps were added  using distress inks.

I will add my journal page over at
 Art Journal Journey
to Rosie's theme of Spring

However you spend this Tuesday, I hope you have a lovely day.

You are............

Happy Mothers Day if you celebrate it today,
but most of all celebrate being  YOU....

This is a page in my mixed page journal that didn't start off this colour.
Messy play times, just don't mean paint etc to me.
The next photo shows the original colours,[left] with another version.

The background is  colour washed, then stencilled to add some texture and I used  napkins [Jane Davenport-woman] to add the images and flowers..
I stamped the words onto tissue sticking them in place with Bindex .
Thank you  to everyone who gave me tips a  while ago about stamping on to material bases. This page is, I think linen.

I am also adding this reminder for the current challenge them over at
There is still more than a week for you to join us  for the theme
Mum's the word.

Thank you for calling in to see me today.
Have a good Sunday everyone.

Don't just sit there.... ..

Friday is .Diary day.... week 10

A plain green base to start for this weeks diary pages, and after all the snow it had me hoping that spring is actually on its way and that maybe we could get out and about again. Hence the quote I added......
.go out and make things happen
I added as usual some stencils, to add interest to the plain side of the page. The duck and flowers were fussy cut from an old calendar.
I also added a T H bird, we've heard a few birds chirping in the garden recently a sure sign that spring is on its way.

I will also add this page to Art Journal Journey

and Rosie's lovely theme for this time of the year.... Spring.

Have a good Friday and thank you for calling in to see me today

Springtime Greens

I've gone green today for this page in my 8 x 8 inch journal.
How green it looked in my garden after the snow had melted away, signs of new beginnings and maybe...... Spring on its way at last.
The background  had been  splashed by accident  and I had already decided on
 stencils  to create trees,
together with the silhouette  stamp for the foreground.
There is actually some un-inked areas, very unusual for me.

On the right is the page in my journal, the 'Springtime' element
top left is a digital addition. I did stay with shades of green apart from the hand stencil I used  to represent a  tree trunk.

I will be adding this page to
and Rosie's theme....Spring.
also
I think it will fit the new theme at
Colour-Effect.

Thank you for calling in to see me today,
you are always welcome here.
