If you are celebrating Father's Day, I hope you have a great day.
How times change, especially how we record an event.
Many years ago our families had to pose for a photo, stand or sit very still,
they always seemed to look so serious.
Now we can capture the moment in an instant and smile.
A smile can for sure brighten anyone's day.
.
My journal 8 x 8 inch page began with brusho powders and a large stamp triangle.
The paper refuses to lay flat so I have it clipped down for the photos.
Some of my blog friends have been using found relatives on their pages recently and this gave me the inspiration to use some of mine.
I completed the page with a computer generated sentiment and the cute image of the boy grinning.
Thank you for stopping by ,
you are always welcome here.
I will be linking up with friends at

Super journaling! It is nostalgic, fun and beautiful same time.
ReplyDeleteHappy Sunday ☺🌸
Beautiful page, and smiling always helps! Have a lovely day, hugs, Valerie
ReplyDeleteThat quote is so true. I heard once that people didn't smile in old photos because it took so long to take the photo. I wonder is that is true? But I love your page and that contrast between the modern background and the vintage people and pup. You are on a roll with that and it is looking good! Happy rest of your weekend. Hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteI think it's true about being serious because of how long it took to take the photo. It's much easier to hold your face still in neutral than to hold a smile without it becoming a rigid grimace! I love the bright and breezy colours of this page... just right for a life full of smiles.

A great journal page and I love the little digital addition with the quote. Modern photography is so much easier - I know I can't hold a pose for more than 5 seconds!

Beauty you made Yvonne, funny how they never smiled in the olden days.x
ReplyDeleteI love your words when looking at those old photos. They never smiled! I remember hearing one time that they had to remain motionless for a while and it was too hard to hold a smile. No idea if that true or not.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing your page with us at AJJ!
Instant photos and instant gratification. What I love about this is how you combined two of the paper dolls to make an instant family. I really like that background, too. The colors really POP! Thanks for this wonderful tribute to Father's Day you shared with us at Art Journal Journey.
ReplyDeleteDelightful message there and great contrast between them and their times. When I first looked at your page, I thought the triangle was a slide at the park, so that's where they are in my mind. What are they gonna think of us 100 years from now??? :-0 xox
ReplyDeleteThis Art journal page is Fantastic Yvonne !! Absolutely gorgeous, and yes, I smile too! Love both of your Art pages posted before this one, they are fabulous. You´re a great Artist.
ReplyDeleteI wish you a very nice new week, and send
Big hugs, Caty
This reminds me that I bought some relatives recently and have yet to use them!!!

ReplyDeleteThat is so true …
All the best Jan
A smile can for sure brighten anyone's day! Wonderful background with this triangle and the brushos!
ReplyDeleteIn Austria we are not allowed to smile for a passport photo, we have to look serious - so it is like the old photos now :)
Wish you a happy day! Rike x
Wonderful page with modern background and Vintage motif. I like the added boy and quote, makes me smile.
ReplyDeleteDear greetings
