T stands for Tuesdays at.......
We are always made very welcome with a drinks related post.
The cuppa was as usual close by on my desk.
I used a large stencil again, spraying it with water colours. After adding the stamped three friends, I used a heart stencil to add some texture. I rubbed this area over with gilding wax.
A random squiggle with a black pen around the edges and it was time to stop.

This week I have also made a tag
Tag Tuesday.
Simple layers with some random stamping.
It looks a bit like a coffee pot , but I think you know it would be filed with tea for me.

A selection of photo's from another of our trips over the Bank Holiday weekend
We visited Claydon House.
I have to admit I didn't like the interior [no photo allowed]
but the church was beautiful
Two photo of how the house looks from the outside now.
top photo built about 1757
The house remains in the Verney family who live in the red brick wing
built 1827.
Florence Nightingale
stayed regularly here and had her own bedroom.
This is her carriage it was kept in the Mews.
The Fire Engine was also on show, I don't think it would be much use these days.
There were a variety of Artisan shops in the Mew area.
I liked these wall plaques
As all good visits must come to an end, ours ended in the tea shop for Cheese on Toast.
Tea day friends I hope you don't get a shock,
no tea , just water for me..
I will be linking my journal page to
Art Journal Journey
for Halle's theme......

What a fabulous post! Your page is amazing, I love how you incorporated the textured heart stenciling over your stamped panel and the words are perfecf too! It looks like you had a fabulous time on your travels and I enjoyed visiting the house with you and finding out about the history too 😀. That cheese on toast looks yummy! I totally agree with the sentiment on your mug too, wishing you a very happy T Day! Jo x
ReplyDeleteA great page, a lovely tag and some super photos. You have been having fun. xxx
ReplyDeleteSo many fantastic things in this post! First I love your bright red mug...it has that 1950s feel to me. <3
ReplyDeleteThe photos are amazing...looks like a lovely adventure. Your art journal page is so fun! Thanks for linking up with AJJ for Words to live by and Happy T day!!
No tea??!! Yes, I am shocked, but the food looks good! Claydon House looks great, thanks for sharing the photos. Florence Nightingale lived here in Kaiserswerth, too, she did her nurse's training here. Love the journal page, especially that cute stamp of the 3 friends. But I like the tag best, perhaps I'm just biased....thanks so much for joining us at TT, much appreciated. Happy T Day, hugs, Valerie
ReplyDeleteLove the journal page. It's beautifully made and the 'friends' are really cute and friendly looking. Tag is lovely too 🌼
ReplyDeletea wonderful blogpost... i like this heart stencil, and it fits so much to the stamp and the quote:) happy t-day!
ReplyDeleteThe Khalil Gibran quote brought back fond memories of my youth :)
ReplyDeleteIt's always satisfying to see buildings so old that have been kept up across the generations. Your cheese toast looks tasty :) Happy T Tuesday!
What a fantastic artful and enjoyable posting ! Specially love this cute stamp and the textured heart stenciling and those words are just perfect too! Thank you for sharing this amazing travel - photos - so very interesting and I bet cheese on toast was yummie! Super sentiment on your mug Yvonne! Wishing you a very happy T-Day and saying thank you for yet another wonderful page linked to AJJ! Big hugs, Susi
ReplyDeleteSuch a sweet journal page Yvonne and the words a prefect. It's a great tag too. Lovely pictures of your visit and the 'fire engine' made me smile - I don't think it would have been very effective if they'd had a fire.
ReplyDeleteAvril xx
Beautiful artwork. Great photos. I especially like the church and gravestones. The food looks delicious. Happy T-Day!
ReplyDeleteYour journal page screamed innocence and friendship and you added the perfect Khalil Gibran quote to emphasize it. The hearts were the perfect addition to the sweetness, too. Thanks for sharing it with us using Halle's theme at Art Journal Journey.
ReplyDeleteIt's sad that this historic home didn't allow photos inside. Not good for drawing crowds. But the grounds provided some lovely shots. Like you, I liked the wall plaques.
Water is an excellent drink, too. Cheese on toast reminds me of Chris's rarebit and cheese dish she had. Yours looks wonderful and perfect for this vegetarian to sink my teeth into, also. Thanks for sharing your incredible art, your trip to Claydon House, and your meal and water with us for T this Tuesday.
I love your journal page! Claydon House looks interesting but i wonder if the interior was like one we saw where they had changed a lot of the original features through the years!! Love the tag too! There really is nothing like cheese on toast is there! Happy T Day! Chrisx
ReplyDeleteThis is a so wonderful Art Journal page Yvonne !! I looove it, the background is fabulous, gorgeous texture and yes, I agree with you, friends are the best!
ReplyDeleteHappy T-day !! love your cup and this toast!
Lovely tag too.Thank you very much for sharing those fantastic photographs with us. I'm impressed by this church, and the carriage and the fire engine. the wall plaques are very beautiful.

ReplyDeleteClaydon house looks amazing and I particularly love the carriage.....I can just imagine FN travelling around with her little lantern xx
Huge hugs

Those little ladies are adorable Yvonne and are the stars of a really nice page. And Happy belated T day. I do like seeing your photos. I have this thing about seeing old buggies.I don't know what, but they give me this weird feeling of deja vu? OK, now you know something weird about me. Claydon House looks interesting. I like to visit building and grounds like that. Thanks for sharing. Hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteVery sweet page for AJJ, Yvonne. The little girls are very cute. Your tag is lovely and elegant.
ReplyDeleteClaydon house looks very interesting, quite an odd mix of architecture. The info about Florence Nightingale surprised me. I alays think of here as bloodied on the battle field, not sleeping in an elegant mansion.
Happy T-day! Eileen xx
Beautiful journal page and tag is beautiful too.
ReplyDeleteYvonne, your travels never cease to amaze me. But I guess with all of that living English history that's how it's lived, huh? wink! I did the same thing for years in my younger days traveling around Texas to see its history, and I still have places left to see. Between you and Jo, I'm constantly fascinated by what y'all eat with tea and beer. I'm sure you'd find our customs interesting too. I love it. And your art journal page. xoxo
ReplyDeleteLovely image with those sweet little girls. It's interesting how the colours here somehow made me a little melancholy as we travelled from the warm yellow to the bittersweet purply browns - very atmospheric. And of course I love the words! Great to share in your day out too... it looks well worth a visit.

A great spread & tag and it’s also nice to join in your travels!
