A bit of Fairy dust

A bit of Fairy dust would be welcome in my home just now.....
I am  sharing another page today for
Halle's theme.... words to live by  over at Art Journal Journey
Life caught up with me  big style this past week, and I can honestly say I am not good with being unwell. But rest and snoozes have been the orders of the day and the hope that tomorrow will be a better one.
I had a couple of pages in progress and may be lucky to get the other one completed as well before July dawns.
To the stamped and stencil background, I added some Studio light pop outs. Not what I intended to begin with ,but it got me through the craftroom door for a short while this afternoon.
Now like many of my European friends I will be looking for a cooler place to get my feet up. Who would have thought that after all the rain and wind we would be complaining about the airless heat.

However you spend this Saturday, I hope you have a lovely day.

Bugs

Hello everyone who calls in today.
I wasn't sure if \\I  would be able to join friends over at Bleubeard and Elizabeth's this week for T day as life has been interesting to say the least these past few days . We should h beeen away on a mid weekbreak but a FLU bug had other ideas. coughs  sneezes and shivers  I can cope with, but headaches are another matter. \it felt like an army on the march in myhead  for three days.
my PHoto shows a EEK peek of a tea ATC.,  \not much else has happened in the craftroom otyping on puter has been fun this morning. The poor thing must have come out in sympathy with me, it sure cannot spell or make much sense. Anyway I hope you have a good day and don't catch the 'bug'.
It may taaake me a few days but I will be around and catch up.
Happy T DAY wishes.
Two wild life photo taken in Scotland recently in the grounds at FLoors castle
These wood carved deer looked
so real as we walked closer  we were wondering why they hsdn't moved away.

Stay safe and well everyone and have a good week.

Marerial Girl

Another challenge theme begins today over at
Material Girl
The prompt for the theme is..... be feminine and fancy, add lace, fabric, ribbons, materials, real or faux stitching etc .
Please pop over to see how the DT  interpreted this theme, there  a variety of awesome inspiration over there.

This is the tag I wanted to use on my page.
It was stamped with a variety of images  and if I remember correctly it was distress inks used to colout the tag.
Created a while ago  but stored waiting to be used, it would never be seen in a box, but I do look through my journals, so it seemed the right opportunity to use it here.

For the page I simply layered the background with stencils and shaded with distress oxides.

I used a piece of material , some lace and fibers  to give it a feminine look.

I think this girl likes pretty girly trimmings.

Thank you for calling in to see me, you are always very welcome here.

I will also link my page to Halle's theme ,,,,

Home is where.......

A hybrid page today in my digital journal.
I will be joining the folk at
for  Halle's theme of ... Words to live by

I had made  this stamped   card layer, coloured with oxides and water colours  a while ago and completely changed my mind on using it. The piece is still waiting to be used, but in the meanwhile I decided to give it an outing as the starter for this digital page.
Lots of digital layers [notes in my sidebar] and of course a lot of fun with no inky mess to clear away.

Thank you for stopping by,
you are always very welcome here,

Tuesday musings

Hello everyone who calls in to see me today.
This first photo is a journal spread that has been in the process of finishing for some time,
No two pages in the book are the same , linen, burlap, calico etc.
So I went down the mixed images route, torn papers,  stamps, fussy cut because they didn't show up on the background. Liberally  swiped over with colours which also  sank into the background.
I did find a nice quote to stamp to use so I will be able to join friends
 at

and Halle's theme of ....Words to live by

On Tuesdays we are always made very welcome over at

to share a drinks related post
So what happened in the craft room  on one of the recent  rainy days.
I decided to make some backgrounds

As always the tea was close by and Mrs Bunny cheered me up.

I also sorted out some of my stored photos ,
these are from our visit to the Scottish Borders in April
Another wet day and many folk  were visiting  the
Old  Gala House in Galashiels it ages back to 1457
and is now a museum and events center

I did get a  few to share..

How about this for a ceiling, it looked amazing, a bit hard to get a photo.

All of these next photos were taken in one room, where every wall was covered in murals

I particularly liked the wooden chair in this room as well..

Now I am off for a comfy seat  and  to begin reading my latest book club book.
Have a great day everyone

Smile please.

If you are celebrating Father's Day, I hope you have a great day.

How times change, especially how we record an event.
Many years ago our families had to pose for a photo, stand or sit very still,
they always seemed to look so serious.
Now we can capture the moment in an instant and smile.
A smile can for sure brighten anyone's day.
.
My journal 8 x 8 inch  page began with brusho powders and a large stamp triangle.
The paper refuses to lay flat so I have it clipped down for the photos.
Some of my blog friends have been using found relatives on their  pages recently and this gave me the inspiration to use some of mine.

I completed the page with a  computer generated sentiment and the cute image of the boy grinning.

Thank you for stopping by ,
you are always welcome here.

I will be linking up with friends at
and Halle's theme of.....Words to live by

...........I'm also adding a reminder for the current Try it on Tuesdays challenge theme....

Seek and you will find

I have been able  to just play in my craft room for a couple of afternoons recently.
Due to the wonderful English weather...... rain.... and oh my have we had our share these past few days and more to come .

A stencil sprayed with yellow paint, I obviously
hoped this would brighten the dull day.
I fussy cut the flower and coloured this to match up with the Studio Lights pop out
I wanted to use..
She is a bit sad all the rain has flattened the flowers in her garden. When it dries up I hope  the flowers will bloom again and she will find what she is looking for.
I will be joining the folk at Art Journal Journey
for Halle's theme..... Word to live by.

Thank you for calling in to see me, I hope you have a good day.

Leave a trail...

A page for Halle's theme ...
Words to live by

There had been a second generation stamped image on the page to start with.
Next a large stencil, which I sprayed over with a bright green paint.
There is always scraps lying around in my craft room .... note to self they need to be used.
Well it is wishful thinking, one day it will get sorted out.
Its much more satisfying to 'play ',
 than to tidy up.

The quote on my Words you need sticker reads...

Don'go instead where the path may lead,
go instead where there is no path
and leave a trail.

Thank you for calling in, I hope you have a lovely day.

Friends, tea and visits.

T stands for Tuesdays at.......

We are always made very welcome with a drinks related post.
The cuppa was as usual close by on my desk.
I used a large stencil again, spraying it with water colours. After adding the  stamped three friends, I  used a heart stencil to add some texture. I rubbed this area over with gilding wax.
A random squiggle with a black pen around the edges and it was time to stop.

This week I have also made a tag
for Valeries theme at

Tag Tuesday.

Simple layers with some random stamping.
It looks a bit like a coffee pot , but I think you know it would be filed with tea for me.
A selection of photo's from another of our trips over the Bank Holiday weekend
We visited Claydon House.
I have to admit I didn't like the interior [no photo allowed]
but the church was beautiful

Two photo of how the house looks from the outside now.
top photo  built about 1757

The house remains  in the Verney family  who live in the red brick wing
built 1827.

Florence Nightingale
stayed regularly here and had her own bedroom.
This is her carriage it was kept in the Mews.

The Fire Engine was also on show, I don't think it would be much use these days.

There were a variety of Artisan  shops in the Mew area.
I liked these wall plaques

As all good visits must come to an end, ours ended in the tea shop  for Cheese on Toast.

Tea day friends  I hope you don't get a shock,
no tea , just water for me..

I will be linking my journal page to
Art Journal Journey
for Halle's theme......
Words to Live by.

Thank you for stopping by,
I hope you are all having a lovely day.

Its a Man's World at TioT's

Its a Mans World........
The  new challenge is all about men and boys,
please pop over for all the details
We hope you will join our new theme,
the  DT girls have  shared  fantastic inspiration pieces .

I  find it hard to make cards for men, but its good to  get out of the comfort zone.
On the left is the  the card  with its   sentiment.   I am not fond of white space.  It is similar to the one I made for my OH's Birthday
 a few weeks ago.
It  is  a white card blank, next a  kraft card layer  with the TH image stamped onto  a plain paper, which I edged with Tea dye distress ink.
For my inspiration card I added some digital scribbly lines as a frame.  I will get the courage to draw them free hand on the card
before I have to use it.

Thank you for stopping by you are always very welcome here.

Finding Inspiration

A page for Halle's theme of...... Words to live by
over at

For this page in my  8 x 8 inch journal
I used a large stencil and sprayed it with a own mixed paint.
Next a rummage around in  the bag of materials and lace  to get some  scraps for the layers.
I found another  material tag , I  thought I had been gifted more than the one I had used a few days ago,  I also  realised it was double thickness, so unpicked the stitching and saved the other piece for another occasion.

The quote on the Words you Need sticker [Finnabair] reads....
When inspiration doesn't come to me,
I go and meet it.

Oh that this was true .

Thank you for calling in to see me, your visit is very much appreciated.

Chaos Creativity and Tea.

I think  these words will appeal to many folk.
I hardly every start a page in my journal knowing where it will end.
This started with stencils and stamps,
the image who's face I think has the look of her wanting to say.....
make my day....
The bees buzzing around are the workers we take for granted when we eat  honey.
I scribbled the frame and decided to stop.
It was good to get a play with colour after being away from home

Another example from me for  the  Try it on Tuesdays theme......
......Make a mark.......

I will also  be linking my journal page to...
Moo Mania and More.... Things with Wings theme
Art Journal Journey and Halle's theme..... Words to Live by

...........................................

Its Tuesday and   T stands for Tuesday over at

We are always made very welcome there with a drinks related post....
Have you spotted my mug of tea....
resting on the bumper of  our  son's off road toy.
Last week at the National Land Rover Rally, with the family and friends, getting muddy and having a great time .

She [the landie] looks a bit cleaner in the photo on the right. The other photo is a  view across the field from our caravan.

We'd not stayed in this area before so in our free time we visited a couple of National trust Houses as well.

More photos from me than usual today, I hope you like them.
After walking down a long drive, we were not disappointed when we saw  what was around the corner...... Ascott House
I added a link to the history of the house and family.
No photos allowed inside and it  was spectacular.
The paintings  displayed  were worth hundreds of thousands  of pounds.

Into the beautiful gardens, by now it was raining, but it was our only chance to see them

We ended the visit in the cafe for a very welcome cuppa .
. For me a toasted sandwich and the hubby had a small  ploughman's platter

Thank you for visiting me  and I hope you all have a super day.

June

Where is the year going, 1st June today and we are nearly half way through the year.

This is my diary planner spread for the coming month.
An easy one to create using my favourite stencils and some Studio Lights pop outs.
After being away our garden needs some attention,  so I am hoping for a few days of fine weather.

Thank you for calling in,
I hope you all have a good weekend.

Thank you Elizabeth for mentioning that my  pages would also fit the new the theme  at
 Art Journal Journey
where  Halle's is hosting .... Words to  Live by
Even though I have just added one word....Bloom...... it is a  good word for this time of the year, where there is  the promise of new life in our gardens and in the  countryside around us.
