Hello Friends who stop by to see me today.
I will be calling in at Bleubeard and Elizabeths to share my drinks related post
because....over there
You can see from the photos that I started off with quite a pale blue colour wash and some crackle paste.
A stencil came next as I am really not happy leaving areas white [ I am trying]
Scraps of papers made the border and the layers for the
girls image I wanted to use.
The stamps were from Grahics 45 papers
I used stamps for the post marks and the grasses.
The faux stitching was added with the help of my ruler. After I saw the photo you can see below with cuppa, I wasn't happy with it so I computer generated some stitching. I am absolutely no use with my sewing machine. Its years since I have been able to thread the needle and its to old to get a threader gadget .
I have scheduled this post, but hope I will have internet so I can catch up with everyone.
Happy T day wishes.

ReplyDeleteI like your "sewing" method. A creative way to get the look you want :) What a great spring mug! Happy T Tuesday
ReplyDeleteLovely page, Yvonne. I relate to your struggle for white space ;-) The crackle medium is cool and I like the way you layered the torn "rectangles."
ReplyDeleteHappy T-day! Eileen xx
What a beautiful page! I love the design with the pretty papers and fabulous photo and quote 😁. The pop of colour from the postage stamps and stamping is perfect too. Happy T Day wishes! J 😊 x

ReplyDeleteHappy T-Day evening!
Enjoy your time!
Big hugs, Susi
I'm sorry for being so late visiting. After being out all day and most of the night, I came home, expecting to get on the internet and leave comments. However, what happened was I fell asleep and just woke a short time ago. The boys were acting needy and I laid down with them just for a second. That turned into at least five hours.
ReplyDeleteYour journal page is beautiful. I love the G45 faux postage stamps and the ladies you "sewed" in place. You actually fooled me, because I thought it was real sewing/stitches.
Thank you for sharing your adorable bunny mug and your art with us for T this Tuesday. I hope you have access to the internet, because I would not want to miss you for T day.
Your journal page is beautiful. And I love your bunny mug! Happy T-Day!
ReplyDeleteA wonderful page...I, too have trouble leaving things white, but I really do need to learn how to! Beautiful art...the digital bits are every bit as good as the stamped images, the torn papers and the faux stitching - I bet your attempt was much more successful than you think. We're always our own worst critics.
ReplyDeleteHappy Holiday, wherever you are and Happy Belated Birthday to your son! My two boys also had significant birthdays in the last three years - it's hard to believe they're so old, isn't it, when we don't feel any older, lol?

You've made a beautiful journal page and the BG is a lovely soft colour. Your bunny mug is very cute too.
ReplyDeleteHappy day after T day, had problems commenting via my ipad.

A lovely vintage feel to this one :-)

Why use a sewing machine when you can do faux stitching as good as that - I thought it was real. It's a fabulous page Yvonne.
ReplyDeleteHope you're having a good time.

I really like this page. It has such a lovely feel to it. I like the crackle and the stitching. Yes, I did notice the stitching was different in the last photo.
