What is reality

What is reality...
is a question I  should  ask myself.
Is it touchable, can you see it, is it all imagination. is it happening at this point in time......etc
So when it comes to creating in my journals these days, I have no plans ,  just a lot of paint, stencils and stamps to hand and go with the 'flow' the  reality of  the  messy moment.
Well not moment in this case it has taken me a couple of days to  get to this stage.
There was a lot to catch up on when we came home at the weekend, like washing and ironing.
Journals are fun, time is not an issue and you can escape  the  world around you.
Anyway...
This page is a paint sprayed and splashed  base, with some stamping.
The flower and the ALL&create Frida were fussy cut.
It was good to be reunited with my craft room.
My last page for Wendy's theme of Having Fun ....over at
Art Journal Journey.

Time to say hello to friends over at
 Bleubeard and Elizabeths
where T stands for   Tuesday and  we are made very welcome with a drinks related post.

This was definitely Real
I am sharing more photos with you  this week from our  family holiday travels.
Easter Sunday saw us visiting Lindisfarne along with hundreds of others .
I hope these photos will show you what a lovely  place this was to visit.
We will go back sometime soon, and get to visit the castle, but as its a tidal island,
it does take a bit of planning.

The church service was in progress when we got to this area,
many folk just standing and listening, it was quite moving to hear the organ
and the singing outside the church.

Walking around the fishermen's  area, even the old boats were used as store huts.

I liked the names of these boats... Faithful....Moody.....Sea Witch

Back over to the mainland and time to have lunch.
Its the first time in years I have been given a cup full and an extra jug  of hot water  with  a tea bag to brew my own. It was worth the wait and the  ham sandwich was very tasty as well.

Thank you  for stopping by and I hope you all have a super day.

Queen for the day

How would it be if you were to be Queen for a day.
I think I would  pass on this offer, it must be  really stressful
being in the public eye day after day.
Anyway I have made another fun page for Wendy's  Having Fun theme at

The page began with a colour mop up base, pieces of washi tape
and  stamping. I re- stamped the birds and fussy cut them as they didn't stamp
so good first time on the page.  I also used a pen to elongate the tulip stamp to balance the page.
The words were added in the computer program I use.

Thank you for calling in to see me today.
I hope you have a good weekend.

By the sea

A  page for Wendy's theme ,,, Having fun...over at
The background is  spray paint splodges, with a little random stamping and the images are cut outs.
I took a few things with me in my travelling craft stash.
The phrase doesn't relate to us bathing in  the sea,  we like visiting , being typical tourists,
but not a toe gets wet,  in the sea off our Northumberland coast.  The North Sea is COLD.

We are currently in the caravan and have been enjoying some
rather warm and sunny weather.  Its all set to change as the week goes by,
On Easter Sunday we visited The  Holy Island  of Lindisfarne.

The island is tidal with a road causeway, so you have to time the visit with the tide.

I will share more photos when I get them sorted out.

Thank you for calling in today, your visit is always appreciated.

Hello Friends

Hello Friends who stop by   to see me today.
I will be calling in  at Bleubeard and Elizabeths to share my drinks related post
 because....over there

You can see from the photos that I started off with quite a pale blue colour wash and some crackle paste.
A stencil came next as I am really not happy leaving areas white [ I am trying]

Scraps of papers made the border and the layers for the
girls image I wanted to use.

The stamps were from  Grahics 45 papers

I used stamps for the post marks and the grasses.

The faux stitching was added  with the help of my ruler. After I saw the photo you can see below with  cuppa, I wasn't happy with it  so  I computer generated some  stitching. I am absolutely no use with my sewing machine.  Its years since I have been able to thread the needle and its to old to get a threader gadget .

I have scheduled this post, but  hope I will have internet so I can  catch up with everyone.
Happy T day wishes.

Making Memories

A quick fun,  mother and son page from me today.
I will be linking to
and Wendy's theme of... Having Fun
This  weekend I will be thinking about family,  memories made through the years  with our sons,
one who will be reaching a significant birthday on Easter Monday.
This is a scheduled post, I  know I will have no internet for a few days
so will catch up with you all  when I am able.

The first  page is made with a variety of stamps and stencils.
I fussy cut the elephants and coloured them with water colours and inks.

..............................................................

Happy Easter.

However you spend this  weekend I hope you have a happy one.
For me its not  about the hype that seems to be around us these days.
Its  about thinking of the true meaning of Easter and spending time with family and friends. .

Springtime at TioT's

Springtime ....
is the new challenge theme over at

Please pop over to see what we have been making and get all the details,
we would be very happy to see you there.

Spring is also the season when we celebrate Easter, so for my interpretation of the theme
I have created an Easter card.
I used  a  few layers  and a main image from my collection of Graphics45 papers.

Some of my favourite die cut wild flowers and leaves which were water coloured.
I added  the sentiment stamp, which is old and unnamed  and finished off with a bit of faux stitching as a frame. I took the photo on the left  and looked  at it over a few days wondering how  I could define the first layer, I think the faux stitching worked.

Thank you for calling in to see me today you are always very welcome here.

Friendship

Hello everyone.
Its.......  T stands for Tuesday
the day of the week when we are invited by

to call in and share a drinks related post with friends.

This first journal page I really enjoyed creating as I was thinking of how
I value the friendship I have here in blogland.

A mop up page , some raised stencils, white gesso
so I could have a place to stamp out the images and words.

This past weekend I picked up an advertising store magazine when I was doing the grocery shopping.
It was full of foodie pictures and recipes including the one you can see on my desk  beside my morning cuppa.. They called it an Easter Sundae, the top cut off a chocolate egg .  filled with ice cream, lots of sweet sprinkles and drizzled with toffee sauce.
Can you imagine the calorie in this dessert?
So I will just stick to looking at the photo.
It is still waiting  for a home, but in my computer crafting world here is how it looks for now.....

I had fun crafting these pages so I will join friends over at
and Wendy's theme of Having fun.

Thank you for calling in and I hope you have a  good day.

Gals just wanna have fun

Gals just wanna have fun
Another page for Wendy's theme of...
Having fun over at

This page was fun for me, if I  had stopped to think things through, it might never have been any further forward than the photo on the left.

It began with a kraft journal page which had a thin coat of white gesso and the remains of some modeling paste through a stencil. There is also a  covering of blue shading.
I had sorted though one of my piles of junk/ papers and found this picture in an old calendar. I  added random stamping to cover the white, not a colour I am comfortable with.
Then stopped before it ended up looking even more of a mess.

Thank you for calling in today, you are very welcome here.

Play days are fun days.

  Play days are fun days.

A page in my Kraft journal that  is just shouting out to be altered.
It looked  bare to me with only the white stencils and the stamped image onto tissue that I had glued down . I had thought to complete  it for my DT  piece over at Try it on Tuesdays for the current Stencils theme. That never happened.

So it was up for a digital make over...... while I  still wonder what to add.
In the meanwhile , as fun was involved  I will link up my hybrid page  to Wendy's theme at....
'Having Fun'.

Now as its also Tuesday that means  I have a favourite blog to visit....
where  T stands for Tuesdays ....
and we are always made very welcome with a drinks related post.
My Country Bunny mug was to hand  as I was adding my name to the page.

Last week I  shared a large tag .[In this post] I wasn't happy with the size so I have recycled it and used it  for this journal page

Adding some random stamping around the page and some stamped quotes.
Distress inks for shading and I am much happier with this version..

Thank you for calling in  and I hope you are all having a good day.

Giggle and play

Another page for Wendy's ..... 'Having Fun'...... theme over at

The page began as most of my pages seem to be doing at the moment with a mop up page.
I added some stamping, washi tape, left over die cuts  and had a rummage for the other bits and pieces. I hope the ladies are having fun  in the water, it looks like they are enjoying themselves.
I was having fun creating the page.

Thank you for calling in today. I hope you have a good weekend.

Having Fun

'Having Fun'
is theme for April, hosted by Wendy  over at
Having fun while crafting is simply one of the best ways to spend free time.
So I think maybe this month I will be enjoying myself getting more  messier
 than usual and having fun.

The background again is another mop up stencil page. I still have a few to use, spraying with water after using the stencil for a project, produces many more prints.
. Of course making the ink or paint go further.

I used Paper Artsy, ALL&create images  and a TH quote..
The shading  is mainly water colours and a few alcohol ink pens.

Thank you for calling in, your visit here is always appreciated.

Use a stencil or two ..... at TioT's.

Use a stencil or two....
is the new theme  for the next two weeks at Try it on Tuesdays.
Please pop over to see what we have been making, we would love you to join us there.

A collage of photos showing the early stages and the stencils I used . All layered onto the base card with distress oxide inks.

The bird is a fussy cut Dina Wakley stamped  image.

Its a simple layered card trimmed with a ribbon and sentiment that could  used for a few occasions.

Thank you for calling in today, your visit is always appreciated.

Tags, tea and springtime blossoms.

I have been looking through my stored G45 papers  and realise that they should be used not just  stored  in a box. So I decided that I would make this robin into a tag .

You can guess that there would be
my cup of tea close by.
So I can also call in to say hello to friends at.......

where  its T stands  for Tuesday
and we are always made very welcome with a drinks related post.

I simply cut out my papers, distressed the edges with the blade of the scissors,
adding  distress ink round the edges.
I fixed them together with the hessian flower  so the layers would   move individually.
The second layer as you can see does have some bird eggs and feathers.

This second tag was made using a picture from an old calendar. I may even recycle this tag soon and add it to a journal page as it is much larger in size
to the ones I usually make.
The base was coloured with distress oxides and a bit of random stamping. The flying birds is a stamped image  and the other trims came from my stash and bits box.
Both these tags I think will fit the current theme over at
So I will be linking  over there.

I have been waiting for a couple of weeks now for these trees on the green   beside  my home,  to show their  blossoms. These are the photos I  took on Saturday.
The blossom is  lovely to see, spring has arrived,  when  we open the blinds each day it is a lovely sight, sadly it doesn't last that long and we know if there should be strong winds,
 it will be blown away.

My last share today is my Calendar pages for April
I wonder what this month will bring as each day arrives.

Thank you for calling in to see me ,
I hope you all have a good day.
