Tea time chats.

Hello to everyone who calls in to see me today.
Its Tuesday and its T day over at

where we are always made very welcome with a drinks related post.

I think I am going to enjoy using these
Prima ... Words you need pieces.
this one  I can relate to,  as  each week a friend and myself sit and drink tea, putting to world to rights and enjoying a  good chatter.
Our husbands often ask what we find to talk about , but we say that after  50 or so years of friendship, does it really matter. We are the family we chose for ourselves.

This page features a lot of yellow,  for the base layer, some random stamping
torn scraps of material and some flower die cuts. This gives me the opportunity to join the folk over at
and Rike's theme ... The Colour Yellow

So what else have I been up to this week
I decided I needed to make a couple of all purpose cards
and as the current Try it on Tuesdays theme is...... Powder your....
this was where I found my cue for inspiration

Mr Fox was presiding over the  session which began like this....

A couple of the finished cards...

We also  took advantage of the brighter days we have been enjoying recently .
taking a trip to the coast where a few brave  folk were also out taking the sea air.
It was bright even when the clouds were rolling in from the sea  but, it was still very cold.
Our destination was  see  a little of the  coast beside St Mary's Lighthouse.
Another area about  20 miles from where we live

Looking North

Getting Closer to the Island, the tide was coming in.

This last photo  from the north of the lighthouse
shows how the weather was changing later  in the morning.
The tide had  come in , cutting the island from the mainland.

Thank you all for calling in, I hope you have a good day.

I seem to be having problems leaving comments on some of my blog friends blogs ,
some of the words I have typed  are missing from my  comment.
Apologies , I haven't a clue how this is happening  or what to do.
Any ideas would be welcome.

Forget Yesterday

A  play day page to share with you today.
You can tell it had a mopped up area where I sprayed water on the flower stencil, there was to much ink to waste.
Next I stamped the girl in the bottle [AALL&create image], using watercolours and oxide inks for shading..
Most folk will know I am not happy leaving white areas so I added more stencils, using yellow as my colour choice so I could join the folk at
for Rike's theme of... The Colour Yellow.
There was a couple of hours between taking the photos , and you can see the difference the light made to the colours.

In case you wonder  I was having a coffee[tea for me] with a friend in the time gap, not being good and tackling the household chores.

Thank you for stopping by and I hope
 you have a good weekend.

Time to Bloom

I am hoping the yellow stencil and wax crayon  background on this page
will be okay for me to join the folk over at
and Rike's theme of .... The colour yellow
I used a variety of stamps from  AAll&Create and Carabelle..
We are still getting some sunshine during the day here, not at all like we are used to in February, however, step out the door into the garden and the cooler temperature doesn't seem to be as high as our weather forecast predicts. May be it will be another crafty play day for me today.

Thank you for calling in you are always welcome here.

Powder your.... at TioT's.

Powder  your .....
is the new theme over at Try it on Tuesdays

Please pop over to our blog where you will find  all the information
and see how we interpreted the theme
Bleubeard and Elizabeth are our Guest Designer for this theme and have shared a fantastic tutorial you will find it here.

This is how my page started off.... as you can see I used my Kraft paper journal .... sprinkled it with some Paper Artsy Infusions powder, then sprayed on some water and waited for the colours to evolve.

The next stage was to add some random stamping.
The main image I used is a TH stamp
On this piece I used embossing power round the edges and yes you will be able to see a bit of blue as well as the gold.. They are both very old powders, the blue  was difficult to heat emboss, so I grabbed the gold and it worked.

The layers and additions came from my stash.

Thank you for calling in today,
I hope you will join us at TioT's.

Breakfast musings

Gardens......  weeds or flowers.
Well,  I say  gardens are to be enjoyed so plant what you enjoy seeing grow there.

The base of my page is quite messy and was  a lot of fun in its creating.
Brusho powders, napkins and random stamping for the base.
Next some scraps of Graphic 45 papers, die cut flowers, and yes..... more stamps

I will share this with the folk at
where Rike's theme is,,,
The colour yellow
I  am calling in to see friends over at
 Bleubeard and Elizabeths
where each Tuesday we are always made very welcome with a drinks related post

My drinks  related reference today is these two photos  ...
My new apron advertising tea, a gift from my OH.

The early morning pot of tea  waiting to be enjoyed and the toaster  ready for the bread  when I put the camera down and get round to putting  it in.

The weather has been kind recently here with some sunny days, so at the weekend we decided to visit one of the National Trust Houses  not to far from us...
Seaton Delaval Hall
that is having a lot of restoration work done on it.
This costs  a lot of money , but we can see much progress from  last year.. It reopened to the public on Saturday and it was good to see that many visitors went to see how things had progressed'

Maybe you can I guess I like old buildings , bricks and stonework.

This willow in its bare state  made  me think of Harry Potters Whomping willow tree,
fancy having one of those outside your home.

Thank you for calling in to see me , I hope you have a lovely day.

You have permission.....

I gave myself permission to play yesterday.
There are a number of mopped up pages in my journals,
so no  excuse was needed  to have a play day.

I used one of these Prima  ' words you need'  stickers, I  think I will enjoy using these items

There was a number of stencils in the background and some raised embossed areas, obviously using left over paste at some point in time.   I also used some material scraps.
So the page evolved and I had fun.

*****************************************

I also made a digital tag for the challenge  over at

where the new theme is...
Mushroom/fungi

Thank you for calling in to see me today, I hope you have a good weekend.

Make it an amazing day.

Sharing another yellow page,
but as my gal is wearing her heart pendant
I wish you a Happy Valentines day if you are celebrating  today.

The base had a yellow water colour wash. I added some random stamping, word stamps  and a hearts stencil, then stopped
 myself from adding more.
The sweet image is a Carabelle stamp.

I will be joining the folk over at
 Art Journal Journey
and Rike's theme...
The colour Yellow

There is a lot of hearts in the background and  my gal  is  showing her love. I will add a reminder
for the current Try it on Tuesdays  challenge theme....
Romance.,,,,where there are still some days left for you to join this theme.

Thank you for stopping by, the comments you leave for me are always appreciated.

Cold sunny days and a cuppa with friends.

I'm still  thinking of ways to use ....
'The Colour Yellow' ... which is Rike's theme for the month over at

It goes without saying that I nearly always have a mug of my favourite brew close by me
 on the table.
I used the remains of a pot of crackle paste  to begin with and gave the page  a wash of yellow water colour.  I am making an effort not to add to much to my journal pages and stopped as you can see after adding, a couple of torn scrap paper, lace , muslin, a couple of photo frames [TH] and a wooden heart. Oh and not forgetting the patch of stamping, words  and the washi tape. Well I did say I was  trying...... to add less.[grin]

I  also created another digital page that my coffee loving friends over at
Each Tuesday we are always made very welcome  there with s drinks related post
I must thank my friend Valerie for the cup, saucer and coffee pot  digital images  she kindly shared with us a while ago.

A couple of weeks ago when it started snowing I took this garden photo from an upstairs window.
What a difference from the grey to the sunshine of today

This last set of photos  shows one of  the patches of snowdrops that are   blooming  under the trees in the garden. They are in shade most of the day and seem to thrive.

I added a photo of my small glass of silk snowdrops. I never want to pick them from the garden  where they flower for much longer than they would if brought indoors.

Thank you for calling in to see me and I hope you all have a lovely day.

Painting dreams.....Yellow!

Painting dreams, well in this case exploring the colour yellow.
This is a mixed media page for the current  theme at ....
where Rike is hosting this month;s theme....... The Colour Yellow

The page began with torn book papers, washi tape and some Jane Davenport tissue images.
Sprinkles of brusho powders, some splats , there is  even a bit of random stamping , followed by some yellow water colour paint.   The words were computer generated.

Thank you for calling in to see what I have been creating,
I hope you all have a good day.

It must be love...

The theme for the current  challenge over at

Hearts.
I used a stencil and stamped background for this first one
and some Graphics 45 snippets from the paper stash, ribbons and a feather.
that like my bits box never seems to get  any smaller.

I have also created this tag in the digital program I use..

Both these tags also fit in with the current theme at...

   ....Romance

Thank you for calling in to see me today,
you are always very welcome here

Romance is in the Air .... at TioT's

Romance
is the challenge theme  for the next two weeks at
Try it on Tuesdays.

My card this time is a fun take on the theme.
Please pop over  to  see what we have all been making
and we hope you will join us there.

On the right are a couple of photos
taken as I was creating  the card.
I did start this card  by first stamping the images I wanted to use.[Katzelkraft]  I watercoloured these two fun animals.
Stencils for the background and distress oxides for colouring. I did add more blue shading as the card progressed as I felt there was to much green.

The sentiment , border additions are all well used  images that I have  for a while.

Thank you for calling in today.
Your visits are always appreciated

Coffee, sunny colours and a cuppa

First of all I will  say hello to friends who stop by to see me to day
and the folk from
where our hosts always make us very welcome with a drinks related post.
I hope you like the digital collage I made for all you coffee lovers.

I have also  created another bright page page today using yellow as my main colour choice.

As  you can see I had my cuppa close by as I was creating this page.
I was also watching a Craft Chanel  TV program that was featuring Jane Davenport crafting items and also Jane herself was demonstrating the items and showing  her journals.

The base layers of my page were already in progress and I had found  the silk flower and doily I wanted to use. So I  got out one of her stamps, fussy cut  the image and added it to the center of the flower.
The words were torn from a sheet of washi paper .

I will be linking this page to Art Journal Journey
where Rike's theme for this month is.......The colour yellow.

I hope you all have a good day today.

Sunshine on a Winter day.

On a cold snowy winters day like we are having just now  there is nothing that can cheer me up more,
than spending some time in my craft room

I had used this page as a mop up a few days ago .
This morning I called in to see what the theme for the month was over at
its.... The Colour Yellow
chosen for us by Rike.

Out with more yellow paints, some washi tapes, a scrap of ribbon.  a bit of random stamping as well as the main image[AAll&create stamp] I used on a piece torn paper.

Below on the left is a photo of the page when I was getting into  my add more mode .
You can see above that I only added the bow and a strip more washi tape. I had words with myself to leave it alone.

However...
I was tempted to play a little  with some digital additions
which you can see in the right hand side photo.
I leave it to you as which you prefer.

Thank you for calling in,
if you have the cold, snow and ice, I hope you are safe and warm.
