Diary day ... week 29

I used another pre coloured page as my starter for this weeks diary,
1st....cover splinted arm with a poly bag,
I gave myself an ink warning today as I was going to try to paint
a couple of bases for journal pages as well.[ I'll let you know how I got on in another post.]
Add a few stencils to  bring both sides of the diary together.

Then I searched the  bits boxes  to see what I could find.........
animals from an old calendar
scraps of muslin
a few small shapes and TH phrases.
Ask OH to get the lid off the glue for me
as I got into all sorts of difficulties with double sided tape.
Job done.

I will add this to Chris's theme of
Art for Art's Sake over at
  Art Journal Journey
Now this  may not be a new technique or new stash,
but for me it is learning to  create art while learning how to cope with using only one hand.

Thank you for calling in today, you are all very welcome here

  1. Wonderful diary pages, well done on getting such good results with one arm. It's too hot to do anything here. Hugs, Valerie

  2. I love the squares. What a cool way to design your page. And the little fabric scrap looks beautiful too. Nice spread Yvonne. Hope you have a great Friday and start to your weekend. Hugs-Erika

  3. Fabulous pages! I love the little critters that you added and the stencilling is beautiful 😁. The layers of muslin add some lovely texture and the quotes are wonderful. That's a good idea covering your arm with a poly bag too, although I would probably still get ink spots on it somehow ...lol 😉. I'm glad you are having some hands-on arty fun again and I hope that you got your fingers inky if not your splints ...lol 😉. Friday and wishing you a wonderful weekend! J 😊 x

    I love this beautiful design!
And a very clever idea to cover the arm with a poly bag!
Thank you for yet another fabulous entry linked to Chris' theme dear Yvonne!
I wish you a very happy weekend!

  5. Yvonne you are a real trooper soldiering on with your creativity with the things we take for granted. If I loved closer I would have helped you with that glue. I know you can get covers for arms and i'm sure the hospital have disposable ones too. Good luck with the poly bag, look forward to that post.
Your mixed media diary page really is a true work of art!! Thank you for sharing it with us all.
Creative Hugs for the weekend Tracey xx

  6. Again, I am super impressed with your calendar pages. I had to laugh at the double sided tape. I tried to use double sided tape a couple of days ago and it was a challenge for me and I had both hands. There is NO way to get that tape off using one hand. Give yourself credit, because this turned out great. Adding it to Chris's theme makes it even more special. You found perfect bits and bobs and matched them brilliantly, dear friend.

I wanted to tell you, I just saw your comment about the ice skates. I used to roller skate as a child, but roller skates are WORLDS different from ice skates. You have nothing to balance the thin blades on. Too bad roller rinks are virtually a thing of the past, because I would have taken the children there far sooner than the ice rink.

  8. Oh my gosh, is that a squirrel!! How much do I love this page!! What a wonderful diary layout and you can never go wrong with baby animals as a design!! Love those art tiles too!

Apparently it's supposed to cool off and even rain next week. I sure hope they're right about that, we could really use a break from the crazy!! lol. Have a wonderful weekend! hugs :)

  11. Lost the comment I started so have come to my computer! I love this journal page and it definitely is most suitable for my Art For Arts Sake theme!
It is as much about doing something you don't do often as new techniques and stash and I hope you don't have any plans for wearing a cast again! I love the animals and the way you used the muslin! The quotes you added show your determined attitude as much as the plastic you put over your plaster before you started - Bravo Yvonne! Hugs, Chrisx

  13. You are certainly inventive, Yvonne, with your one arm. Double-side sellotape and in fact any sellotape has a main aim of causing difficulties no matter how many arms we have. (Parcel tape is the worst IMO).
Your page does look good and something different for Chris's theme.
