Week 30 and I allowed myself a bit of a play with paint.
My left arm wrapped in the poly bag, I squirted some acrylic paints onto the diary page , then dabbed and blended them with a
nearly dried out baby wipe.
I used the stencil, but realised it was a waste of time over the painted side of the spread. I also tried a bit of random stamping and it was luck where the stamp fell on the page.
The pretty rose card came from Chris, a piece of beauty amongst my painty mess... Its not neat or tidy but I did enjoy myself.
I will join the folk at
and Chris's theme for the month
Art for Art's Sake .
Thank you for calling in, I hope you have a good weekend.

I love messy and your pages are gorgeous! The background is perfect for the rose image with the pretty paint colours, flowers and honeycomb 😁. The quote is so true too; I hope you don't mind that I have added it to my quote book 😉. I bet you had fun creating it and getting messy too, I had some play time yesterday afternoon and got covered in paint ...lol 😉. We have had some cooler weather this week and then a couple of hot sunny days, rain is forecast too which may be with you first. Happy Friday and have a lovely weekend! J 😊 x
ReplyDeleteYour diary pages are wonderful and vibrant with colour. Have a great weekend, hugs, Valerie
ReplyDeleteBy no means is this diary spread messy! This is an artsy miracle Yvonne! Such a beautiful spread with the rose image! It nearly seems you have invented a new art journalling style technique - and maybe it will become popular soon your "left arm wrapped in the poly bag art journaling style" ! Happy Friday and thank you again for another wonderful supportive piece linked to Chris' theme!
ReplyDeleteOur boy- dog Liyongo has had a big surgery on Tuesday – we are so happy to still have him – he had a bad splenic tumor of 12 cm , but fortunately this tumor hadn’t begun a cycle in his body- so it all looks fantastic so far and he recovers just so quickly. We are just sooo happy!
Hugs, Susi
Susi I am so pleased you had good news, our dogs are members of our family, you must have been so worried. I hope he will be recovered soon.

Not a painty mess but a very clever way to get that creativity out! Good thing we have cards and napkins and other things to work with when life gets in the way of using 2 hands (or time, or any other reason) . happy Friday and Happy start to your weekend Yvonne. hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteI always love Diary Day. Actually, this is beautiful and goes SO well with the card Chris sent you. I'm glad you shared this because Chris has sent me cards like that in the past, and I was unsure how to use them, since I don't want to cut them up. Great inspiration and a beautiful spread. Equally wonderful that is the fact you shared this with us at Art Journal Journey, so others can be inspired, too!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful page!
ReplyDeleteI am a little late to visit but I always enjoy what I see from your Friday Diary, the background looks fabulous it's as if you have hand picked those colours from the card and dropped them onto the page, a perfect match makes a beautiful Friday feature.
ReplyDeleteWell done on not letting that arm get in the way, onwards and upwards!!
Weekend hugs Tracey xx
Another lovely one-armed piece. I love the rosy background and that's a great way to use a lovely greetings card.
ReplyDeleteOh Yvonne! I love your background, the stencilling at the edges picks up on the rose so well! Glad you found the card useful too! I don't think I would be making such lovely art with a gammy arm! I love seeing your journal pages and I am so pleased you linked to Art Journal Journey! Have a great weekend! Hugs,Chrisx
ReplyDeleteLOVE this, Yvonne - great colours and perfect quote for the emotions evoked. Beautiful.
ReplyDeleteCan't believe you're only using one hand! Well done you and 10/10 for persistence, lol.
