H is for Hedgehog

H is for Hedgehog
I think you may have seen this little fellow  in a photo on my previous post.

and Rike's theme of Animals from A to Z

I have used my 8 x 8 inch journal again.
It is quite thin paper and after painting  the page with  water colour paint it curled up so much that I decided  to  remember to use distress inks or oxides in future like the calf page  the other day.

I added the torn picture of the hedgehog,  and had used oxide inks on the edges, then another coat of water colour
round the edges.

I used letter stamps for the  title word and found a dictionary definition of hedgehog.

Photos taken, it was time for a few digital additions to be added.

Thank you for calling in today,
I really appreciate your visit to see me.

  2. This is really an adorable page with this lovely hedgehog image. You found the best additions to bring this sweetie to your beautiful page! I used the rest of one of the napkins you sent me just this morning to make a page- but will show it later this month I decided ... they are so beautiful to use on pages. You made me happy with this win of napkins.

  6. Here the hedgehog comes :) He is really adoreable and you made a beutiful background with watercolor and with oxide inks on the edges, then another coat of water colour round the edges - this is a perfect frame! I like that you added a dictionary definition! Your digital additions are gorgeous too!

  7. I love that hedgehog and the background is lovely. I use the same journal as you by the look of it, and it doesn't like too much water, sometimes a coat of gesso helps a bit, or glue two pages together, and then gesso. I use this journal for my Thursday one with Neet, so it takes Delusion paints OK.

  11. I absolutely adore your adorable and precious hedgehog. He is a cutie and so is the entire page. I have a small book very similar to yours and the pages are so thin, I had to glue two together in order to add any paints or inks at all. I think the curls give a page character. At least that's my story and I'm sticking with it (grin).

Thanks for sharing your darling hedgehog with us at Art Journal Journey, dear.
