Cats and Antiques

Another journal page featuring cats for
and Rike's theme of Animals from A to Z.

The cats I used for this page were torn from a paper napkin. I did have to touch up a few areas with coloured pencils as this napkin tore very easily when it was  being stuck down onto the page.
A few stencils in the background,
then stamped with some wild flower stamps.
I used distress inks and oxides  as  I wanted not so bright colours today.

The quote was computer generated,
 my writing is terrible.

I will say hello to Bleubeard and Squiggles here as I am also visiting with friends over at

where we are always made to feel very welcome with a drinks related post.

Today's drink comes together with a Hot Cross buttered bun.

This was our  treat  at the weekend .
We had been to  an Antiques/Retro Fair held in a school not to far away from where we live. A new venue for the organiser and they said they would be coming back later in the year, if it proved popular.

It was quite busy and not all stall holders like photos taken, but I did manage to get a few with the stall holders permission.

This was was selling all kinds of copperware.
The weight of the copper pans  would be  far to heavy to have in my kitchen..
I did think the old leather shoes and the cuddly toys looked out of place among all the gleaming pots and pans.

Old tools and keys, hundreds of them and still the stall holder was advertising for more.

Husband was in his element, I left him chatting with the owner and had to go back and  get him moving  to see what else there was  to see at the fair.

I had to get a photo of the clock hanging over the corner of the box.
I think ,any kids would like one of these especially if they had the Hogwarts box as well.

Thank you for calling in  to see me , I hope you have a lovely day.

  3. Your cats have touched MY heart today, dear Yvonne. This is a wonderful page that has so much meaning to me. Thanks for sharing it with us at Art Journal Journey.

I want ALL that copper. I was in copper heaven when I saw the pieces. WOW, and they were well used/patina-ed, too. Loved the old keys, too, of course.

I have never had a hot cross bun. I was really impressed and I enjoyed seeing it along with your tea, of course. Thanks for sharing your heartfelt Art Journal Journey page, the antique/retro show, and your hot cross bun and tea with us for T this Tuesday.

  4. Love your cat page, and the quote is lovely. I will never forget my Kitty, that's for sure, she ruled my life for 22 years. Love the photos from the antiques fair, I would love those Hogwarts boxes, too. Great clock melting away, too. We don't get hot-cross buns here, so I'm rather envious there....Happy T Day, hugs, Valerie

  18. Such sweet little cats! Your trip to the antiques fair reminds me that the Antiques Roadshow is coming to nearby Crathes Castle (national trust property) , it's only 4 miles away but it's when we will be in France this summer sadly as I would love to have taken a couple of things along. That's some collection of keys , I only have 1 old one, originally used as part of a macrame creation but now worn with my medieval outfit as the key to the cast/pantry/ whatever!
