Deer in the woods

Last year we were lucky to see  some deer and their young ones,
when we were walking in woodland.
This memory prompted me to create this journal page for...

and Rike's theme of Animals A to Z

The page did start with base layers in my own journal, embossed stencils, torn book print and a few layers of paint, even a touch of gilding wax on the textured border.

It was completed in the digital program I use, adding  more layers and the images. [notes in my sidebar].

Thank you for calling in today, you are always welcome her and the comments you leave for me are always appreciated.

  2. This is absolutely beautiful! I like your gorgeous painted background, and admire this shining orange light! The deers are cute, and the quote is great! How much luck that you saw some deer and their young ones in the wood, because they are very shy.
Thanks for sharing this fabulous page with us at Art Journal Journey - I appreciate it!

  5. That's a beautiful page Yvonne. I love seeing animals when I am out and about and deer are always nice to see. You made a gorgeous page-I love the little fawn. Last summer I saw a doe with her twin little fawns, all spotted too. :) Thanks for giving me that nice memory. Happy end of your weekend. Hugs-Erika

  11. There's nothing more beautiful and fragile than a deer that is in the woods. Both the baby and mother are incredibly stunning. The idea of using many digital layers makes it even more appealing to me. Thanks for sharing this with us at Art Journal Journey, even if I AM a bit late.

  17. Oh my gosh, a baby deer!! Who can resist a baby deer!! What a magical image with the lovely forest in the background, looks like a place I would love to go!! Sadly, there are no deer here because it's just too busy with the likes of humans! hugs :)
