Art Journal Journey
and Elke's theme of,,,,, Landscapes of the Soul
To begin. I had started making this tag a while ago. On the left is how she is layered into my journal.
The artfully posed lady was telling me her story,
how her lover had cast her aside for another.
Jealousy, fury lost love and what did his new lover look like,
were questions that all had to be answered. But deep down, she knew it was time to leave the past behind, be free.to fly on her own and enjoy living once more.
You can see that as well as digital additions to finish the page, I used a few scraps of materials as layers. Torn pieces of book page, a mop up water colour and inky background.
Thank you all for calling in , you are all most welcome here
and I hope you have a lovely day today.
Digital information can
be found in my sidebar.
Beautiful page and quote. Love how you combined all the different elements, and the textile additions. Hugs, Valerie
ReplyDeleteThe tag on it's own is utterly beautiful Yvonne- and I love how you brought the page together with building up the layers and "drama" of her story with fabric and sewing - I am in awe of it! And I am really glad to hear that she enjoys living again. I always tell my daughter that men are not worth the tears and that ladies should rather profit from their freedom - she agrees with me and we have the sentence that always makes us laugh: Other mothers as well have beautiful sons! A very old Viennese quote ....
ReplyDeleteHappy rest of the week for you!
Thank you for another fantastic entry linked to Elke's theme!

ReplyDeleteWhat a powerful story you created through your art. You must have a gazillion stories you have thought up, because this one is very emotional with tons of feeling. And the art that went with it is out of this world!
ReplyDeleteA lovely page Yvonne, love how you've combined the tag with the image through your story, gorgeous layers and colours.

ReplyDeleteSimply wonderful, Yvonne... the non-digi page is already glorious, with those fabrics and textures, uplifting colour tones and delicious stitching detail. And then I love the Modigliani-esque woman and of course the story behind it all.
