The quote on this page reads........
'I'd like to announce I have no idea what I am doing'.
and I didn't when I started this page.
Messing is what it felt like creating this page,
but I have decided to share it with you. as we all have days when everything goes wrong.
I spilled blue metallic ink on the page and had a fun time mopping that up as best I could.
As the random stamping dried out it blended into the background, making it look even darker in places . I decided to use some scraps and left overs. cut out pieces to cover the worst of the mess, for the house and what you could vaguely say is supposed to be a tree.
I added the scrap of muslin, hopefully it looks like smoke coming from the chimney
I will link this to Alison's theme of
Geometric shapes at...
and I hope my friends over there will have a smile when they see this page.
Thank you all for stopping by, you are always welcome here.
Turned out interesting and fabulous Yvonne...sometime a spilled bit of ink can make a difference for the better.xx
ReplyDeleteBut it looks like you found an idea along the way Yvonne. You made good use of some geometric shapes for certain. I love your "smoke" coming out of the chimney. Happy weekend. Hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteI LOVE it. In fact, I was thinking of designing a house for AJJ, but it would never look as good as yours. To be honest, I'm glad you told me that was a tree. THAT surprised me. I DO like how you covered your ink, because I really like the moody background. In fact, the smoke coming from the chimney signifies the dark clouds and storm are about to arrive. Thank you SO much for sharing this with us at Art Journal Journey. I am in AWE of that house. It's a keeper.
ReplyDeleteYou may have not have known at first, but you made a great page. I always love just seeing where makng art takes me, I think it's great to have an adventure like this. Have a great day, hugs, Valerie
ReplyDeleteI can see that you have had fun creating this page Yvonne, we discover so many techniques when playing in this way. Love how some of the areas have been absorbed into the background. The smoke coming from the chimney is a great mixed media addition and you appear to have created a wind turbine to power it all.. How economical. I'd love that quote above the doorway to my house hee hee!!
ReplyDeleteHappy Saturday Hugs Tracey x
I totally love this page Yvonne! The red house against the turquoise background is simply gorgeous, and it's perfect for my challenge at AJJ!

It's a great page Yvonne and I was the same when I started on my first page for this theme. It is nice to just go where it takes you sometimes I think.
ReplyDeleteHave a great day
Love Chrissie xx
Wow - this is a stunning page ! You found the perfect layout along the way and I LOVE the Mixed Media smoke chimney ! GREAT! A wonderful page for the GEOMETRIC SHAPES theme! Thanks a lot dear Yvonne! Happy weekend! Big hugs, Susi
ReplyDeleteGreat page, Yvonne. I love your beautiful red country house. Happy New Year, my friend.
ReplyDeleteI think your piece turned out great Yvonne-sometimes accidents or mistakes work for the best-our muse at work lol
ReplyDeleteHappy weekend
Just coming by on my weekly visit..
ReplyDeleteOh yes, I know only too well how things can go wrong... I have to say, Alsion's theme is not one that particularly appeals to me, but I think the result of your page here actually look really good, so I think it was well worth sticking with the process. The page has used geometric shapes really creatively, well done, oh and I think the background actually looks really cool too!
The vibrancy of the background is amazing, it reminds me of fireworks, the perfect setting for your house at New Year! The smoke you created from the chimney is wonderful too, so creative 😁. Wishing you a happy weekend! J 😊 x
ReplyDeleteI love your sweet little house - so warm and cosy - and the geometric tree is great fun.

You may not have known where this was going but it ended up with a fabulous page and I love the quirky tree.
ReplyDeleteAvril xx
It looks completely like you planned the whole thing, Yvonne. What a genius way to create a tree geometrically, too. Love the muslim chimney smoke, but I think that "messed up" background is the most gorgeous! xoxo
ReplyDelete"I have no idea what I am doing" was the best start - you created a wonderful page! The background is amazing and the house and this tree are gorgeous! Perfect the scrap of muslin, it really looks like smoke coming from the chimney!
ReplyDeleteWish you a happy New Year! Rike xx
I like the scrap of smoke!
