Stitch it
Real or Imitation
at Try it on Tuesdays
Well my hybrid page doesn't have real stitching, but if you pop over to TioT's there are some fantastic inspirational pieces to see there.
This is the stencilled background and the stamped [Tim Holtz] images I wanted to use as a starting place.
I used oxide inks for the background.
The other layers and stitching were added in my digital program [notes in my side bar].
Do any of you remember a 'Shift Dress',
the kind that looked like two pieces of material, sewn at the shoulders and seams.
I don't think I ever saw any that looked like the dresses on this pair of Diva's, nor do I imagine they would ever be seen out wearing something home made.
In case you wonder the original starting layer was made into a Birthday card for a friend, who I know will have a smile when she saw these two walking a dog. Like I used to, she wears boots and comfortable clothes to walk her dog.
Thank you for calling in today, your visit is always appreciated.

FABULOUS. LOVE THIS.X [aNNie]
ReplyDeleteWonderful piece, I always needed boots or wellies to walk my dogs, too! Hugs, Valerie
ReplyDeleteGreat piece. Those tall ladies can always wear the fashion. And I like grungy digital stitching. :) Hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful card and I laughed as well a bit about the two Ladies - I would not be able to walk my two mini horses in high heels but such a mini dog fits this Ladies perfectly ...lol!
ReplyDeleteHappy TIOT Yvonne!

What a brilliant card Yvonne! My Mum made me loads of shift dresses in the 60's (in fact I remember making some of my own dresses too with gathered waists to go over petticoats!) The ribbon on your card is a lovely touch! Hugs, Chrisx
ReplyDeleteBeautiful stitches on your hybrid page Yvonne! The colour combo is very yummy! Hugs!
ReplyDeleteA wonderful take of the challenge, Yvonne
ReplyDeleteLove this its fabulous and fun too very chic !

ReplyDeleteA great card Yvonne and I love the digital additions. I don't think the lady in your card walks her dog very far and it certainly won't get messy!
ReplyDeleteAvril xx
Your "sewing" looks similar to my wonky stitches. I truly adored this, and it made me remember when I had big, big dogs that walked me, rather than the other way around (grin). I simply adore this TioT entry.
ReplyDeleteLovely card and digital page, I love the coloured background and fabulous stamped image.
ReplyDeleteFabulous hybrid page and card, Yvonne. Love the elegant and feminine images you chose.

ReplyDeleteBeautiful card, i love this art of you!
ReplyDeleteGreetings Elke
Fab page and card Yvonne, love those runway girls. I wore shift dresses in the 60's&70's when I was very thin! Could run one up from a couple of yards of fabric in next to no time, I'd look like a sack of spuds in one now 😄

Beautiful card Yvonne, love those ladies! x
ReplyDeleteLove the stitching theme, and these two fancy Ladies. I can't remember the shift dress, but then again, I don't wear a dress but maybe once a year :)
ReplyDeleteThat's just lovely - the willowy women are great, and I love your stitched frames. I must conquer my aversion to sewing machines!

A wonderful take of the theme, Yvonne
ReplyDeleteWear a fun and funky background-- now I want to go use ALL THE STENCILS 😍... This is a great birthday card for a friend. There are lots of women in my area who walk their dogs together!
