A hybrid page today that has taken me days to create.
I found this colouring in book in an outlet shop at a bargain price I couldn't walk past,
when I read the title.
I couldn't wait to try a page. That was two weeks ago, but life sort of overtook me and other things have had to take priority.
Crafting went to the bottom of my to do list.
But I do hope Picasso won't be to offended with
my alterations to his work.
Fast forward to this past weekend and I have made some progress.
I did have a base layer in a journal waiting to be used.
It was a colour mop base, random stamping and embossing.
I had always intended to cut out the Harlequin figure and have a play in the digital program I use.
I am calling in to see friends at
where we are always made welcome with a tea related post.
Folk I can assure you I have had many more cups of my favourite brew these past days.
I'm nearly floating in the stuff.
Our eldest son was an emergency admission to hospital,
we have had a number of worrying days recently.
we have had a number of worrying days recently.
This is my cuppa of the week, the photo taken when I was into making background pages I could use for mixed media/hybrid pages.
I will also pop over and join the folk at
and Jo's super theme for the month
Poetry in Motion, where it can be a poem, quote or saying that gives us inspiration.
Sorry Jo I haven't been able to make as many pages for your great theme as I would have liked to,
Sorry Jo I haven't been able to make as many pages for your great theme as I would have liked to,
I have made this quote a mantra recently. I am thinking positive thoughts.

Thank you Yvonne but there is no need to apologise, I totally understand, family is much more important and I hope your son is feeling much better and makes a quick recovery! It's always difficult seeing loved ones unwell and staying positive always helps me, so your mantra is perfect 😀. I love how you have used the Picasso image as the pose of the mannequin looks very reflective and deep in thought - perfect 😁. Your background is so pretty too with the soft chalk like colours, stencilling and stamping - beautiful! Your mug made me smile there's nothing like a good cup of tea - Happy T Day! Thanks so much for creating this wonderful page for Art Journal Journey 😁. Thinking of you and sending your son get well wishes! J 😊
ReplyDeleteEnthusiastically from wonderful journal, how you changed the picture is great!
ReplyDeleteThe eigener background style is your own creative Journal!
Greetings Elke
Hope when you read this your son is getting a better diagnosis and things will be improved and improving. That is scary. bad enough with a parent but even worse with our children, no matter how old they are. I do love your page. I think you really made it so much more feminine and it feels less abstract. I think Picasso would be pleased. Thinking of you. Happy T day. Hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteYour page combining your background along with the colored Picasso image is fantastic- I love it Yvonne! So sorry to hear about your son. I do hope things are improving and he will be 100% well soon. Happy T day!

Yvonne.. i hope all is well with your son...scarey for sure.... and therefor i can see why you may need several cups...!! I don't see how Picasso could possibly be offended !! This turned out lovely... Happy happy T day! Hugs! deb
ReplyDeleteI hope your son is now out of the woods and you can breathe a bit easier. He'll definitely be in my thoughts this week.
ReplyDeleteI actually like your harlequin interpretation better than Picasso's original. She's a real beauty, and I was quite impressed. That very positive quote seems to have been just what you needed to carry you through these trying times.
I can understand why you would need buckets of tea this past week. Your mug was also perfect, and it seems to have matched the background page and washi tape you had on the desk, too. Thanks for sharing your lovely AJJ entry, your news about your son, and your beautiful tea mug and tea with us for T this Tuesday.
yes, sometimes art time goes to the bottom of the to-do list, life interferes... i really like your Variation of Picasso!
ReplyDeletehappy t-day!
