Madame Butterfly and her Mosaic Garden.

Two pages to share with you today,
first of all for
Take a Word where  the theme is Butterflies.

I made this  digital collage  page in my Craft Studio program, layering up backgrounds and images
from Mischief Circus kits,  Dezinaworld and my own found ones.

.................................................

.
It won't be long now hopefully until we can see the butterflies in our gardens.
So another page where I'm sure the butterflies would enjoy living.
Made in the same craft program and creating a Mosaic pattern so I can
join Pippa at Mosaic Weekly

Thank you for stopping by to see me today. I always appreciate the comments you leave for me.

Just Friends for TioT's

'Add a Quote'......
is the challenge theme starting today over at Try it on Tuesdays.
Please pop over for all the details and see what we have all been making this time.
We hope you will come and join us.

On the left  is a photo of my original card. A single layer for easier posting. It had a Brusho sprinkled background and the images are Paper Artsy stamps which I water coloured.
So as you will have guessed my  page has been added to with a few digital bits and pieces which  gave me more room to add a longer  quote. The background was an embossed  and coloured in my Craft Studio.

Thank you for calling to see me today. I always appreciate the comments you leave for me.

Happy Easter and a Woodland Easter egg hunt for AJJ

Happy Easter
to all my friends out there in Blogland.

A hybrid page starting out with an embossed painted base layer.

I used this layer from my art journal next.
I have a photo taken at this stage before it was completed, so I could use it on my hybrid pages, altering the colour shades
 to suit the page.

The early stages of making a  'just for you'  card, came next. I have just got my hands on a set of Tim Holtz Wild flowers stamps and was needing to ink some up. I have a pile of inked and splashed papers waiting to be used.

So after the layering, I added a few elements of my own and from  Mischief Circus.

By the time I was taking this photo the light was realy poor, but this is the  resulting card I made. Adding a  some quilling flowers and  stamped fussy cut leaves.

I hope little Eva finds all the chocolate eggs hidden in the wood today.
She is even whispering in Mr Rabbbit's ear,  for clues, where should she   look next.

Thank you for stopping by today, and for looking at what I have been making.
The comments you leave for me are always very much appreciated.

Spring Equinox

Over at Take a Word, this weeks theme is the
Spring Equinox, so I assembled this page with that theme in mind.

Using images from Mischief Circus kits and some of my own, this is the base layer, embossed and coloured with distress inks.
I used my Craft Studio to create the layering of this page.

Thank you for stopping by to see me today. I always appreciate the comments you leave for me.

I have been having a marathon day with digital pages, there is another one here  on my other newer blog.
If you have time I would love you to stop by

She wants to Dance

Elsie would love to be a famous Ballerina when she grows up.

She even has her favourite dancer framed on  the wall in the barn, the place she can be in her own
Make Believe world and dance for her audience of  furry friends.

These two digital pages were created in my Craft Studio, using  a mixture of my own/found
and Mischief Circus kits.

Elsie is dancing her way over to the
  Three Muses Challenge
where this weeks theme is, 'Dance'.

For you

Today I am sharing a card with you, made using a Tim Holtz paper stack.
I stopped buying papers nearly two years ago and still the pile never seems to get smaller.
I made a textured base, using an embossing folder and spray inks, then layered it up distressing the edges with the old blunt scissors,
I even fussy cut  a piece to add interest to the bottom corner.
As yet there is no sentiment, this way it could be used for any  occasions,
when I need a card ready and waiting..

It is the second week of the current challenge at Try it on Tuesdays,
and the Top 5 winner from the last challenged will be announced there  today.

Thank you for calling to see what I have been making
, I always appreciate the comments you leave for me.

Elsa and George

A visit to the dark side today and a trip into the woods....
where,  Chris is hosting this months theme of...
If you go down to the woods today....

Elsa is not best pleased with the evening walk going through the dark woods.
George dear--''-I'm scared , Its too dark in here''
His reply to this,  was to say, ''Elsa my love, don't be frightened,
there is nothing to worry about here. I'll look after you''.
Typical man,
can he not see the ghost in the trees and the scary black cat.
even the birds look  menacing  in the trees.

A digital page made using images from Dezinaworld , Mischief Circus and some of my own.

Thank you for stopping by to see what I have been making.
The comments you leave for me are always appreciated.

Double Act

June's Cheeky Challenge this week over at Dezinaworld is
Double Act.
The base of this was  a photo of one of my mixed media canvases.
I thought it would be fun if the fish could organise trips to their world ,  but  glass jars might not be the best sort of transport.
Pippa at Friends meet Friends has a Bottle theme  for us to join in.
I hope that this page will be okay for the theme

This is my second take on the theme.

That old crow, for  sure is seeing double ,
I don't think he can believe his eyes.
Images used on both pages were from Dezinaworld, Mischief Circus and my own stored items.

Thankyou for calling in to see me today, I always appreciate the comments you leave for me

Liza and the butterflies.......

A  page that started off  in my journal and  ended up being finished
with some digital additions [from Mischief Circus kits and my own images]

This is how it looks before altering. Water coloured wash background, tree stencils and a Stampers Anonymous image  sat on a strip of tape.
I left it for a couple of days and just didn't have a plan for what would  happened next.

Time to see if I had a story  buzzing around.
I had found the quote on a Google search.
So here we are with Liza, who always wanted to be a fairy, she was  playing in the woods,
where the birds told her she only had to make a wish and maybe the butterflies could make her dreams come true.

The theme for March over at
hosted by Chris is...'' If you go down to the woods today''.  So Liza is  popping over to join them.

Thank you for stopping by to see what I have been making, your comments are always appreciated.

is the new challenge theme at Try it on Tuesdays.
A mixed media page from me

. You can use any style or medium  and I'm sure you will be inspired
by what the girls have been making.
Our Guest Designers are chosen from our Top 5 winners

Bluebeard and Elizabeth at Altered Book Lover.

The base layer for the page  was embossed using a Tim Holtz stencil and when dry I  lightly sprayed the colours [home mixed]  and rubbed the raised areas with gilding wax.
The poppy and quote are Indigo Blu stamps.  I used some Graphics 45 pieces, as well as some fabrics
 to finish the page.

Thank you for calling to see me today, I always appreciate the comments you leave.me.

Look out for wonder in the woods. for AJJ

Walking in woodland is like stepping into another world.
Well that's my thoughts.
If you look about, you may glimpse some wonderful things.
Another page for Art Journal Journey
where Chris is hosting this months theme of......If you go down to the woods.

This is how my page started. Water coloured base, lots of stamped trees and my poor efforts of free hand painting a larger tree. Feel free to smile. this is not something I would usually try to do. but I needed a large tree to go behind my fussy cut stamped door.
The creatures were scrap cut outs.

With a little digital altering
Hamish managed to sneak into the this version.
Mitzi has been telling her friends about her visit on my blog.

This is where Hamish lives with his friends, I can only imagine the chaos, this lot would get up to if they went for a day in the woods.

Thank you for calling by to see me today, I always appreciate the comments
 you leave for me.

Read me a story mum.

Read me a story Mum.
A digital page for the Cheeky Challenge at Dezinaworld
This weeks theme is....... Mother
The Main images of the mother and little girl can be found over there as well in Junes kits.

Mitzi and her friend   like it when the little girl takes them out to play,    so they  had a trip out  to sit in the garden and listen to the story.

This is their usual home, a hat box on a chest of drawers.

Thank you for calling to see me today, I realy appreciate the comments you leave for me.

If you go down to the woods today. for AJJ

Over the years my husband and family have given me bears as gifts.
They can be found in most of the rooms in my home.
So when Chris who is hosting the theme--If you go down to the woods today--
at Art Journal Journey this month.
Well I just had to  let a couple of my friends have a moment of fame on my blog.
''Old Timer'', who is the Granddad of my group
is sharing a cup of tea with his Granddaughter Mitzi

A digital page today using my own, photo, collected images and a statue figure  from Dezinaworld

Girls Night Out

This is another hybrid piece from me for the current theme of Feminine and Fancy

Again I used this mixed media  page as the base, to this digital piece.
Altering it in my Craft Studio and using elements from Mischief Circus kits.
As we grow older, styles do change especially with fashions. Now these three may not be dressed to everyone's taste, but I bet they would all feel that looked ''the real deal'',  for their night out.

Thank you for calling to see me today, your comments are always appreciated.

Remember when?

A real inky page from me today,
sometimes you just need to end the day with green fingers,
have spilled   paste on the desk, and had an issue with some tissue paper
that refused to be put where I wanted it to go. Well that all adds up to a lot of fun.
I had the current theme   at Art Journal Journey
in mind when I began this spread,
where Chris is hosting.... If you go down to the woods .... is the theme.

On the left is the page, waiting to dry out, embossed with modelling paste through a stencil then water coloured.

The next stage was to add some stamped trees, the large tree on the left and group on the right,  also  the young couple walking were stamped onto tissue. Stamps are Stampers Anonymous and Sheena Douglas.
I added a bit more colour with distress inks.

Thank you for calling in to see me today, I always appreciate the  comments you leave for me.

A misty morning

Another hybrid page today, using my own backgrounds ,
images and a roe deer from a Mischief Circus  kit.
The main image of the stag is an altered version of this card....

This was another card from my DT days back in 2014  for  Sheena Douglas using her stamps.
The card and background were water coloured.
The photo of the original that I kept,  had part of the layering missing, so this had some layers added digitally. You can see it is now,  a totally different colour, the joys of messing about on a computer and not getting inky fingers.

My stag and his lady friend are off to
where Chris is hosting this months theme...
If you go down to the woods.

Thank you for stopping by to see me today.
the comments you leave for me are always appreciated.

Sea fantastia

Week 8 for the Cheeky Challenge over at Dezinaworld
and I am well out of my comfort zone.
The theme is Fantasy
All I can say,  is that I am pleased to be exploring digital journal pages.
This was made using elements of kits from Mischief Circus.

Thank you for calling by to see what I have been making
. I always appreciate the comments you leave for me.

A path through the woods for AJJ

The theme for March at Art Journal Journey
 hosted by Chris is....
''If you go down to the woods''.
When I saw Chris's  page I immediately remembered  some cards I had previously made
,that had an image of a little girl,
who, for me just had to be little Red Riding Hood.
So my first offering is this hybrid mixture
of my own embossed base layer [Crafters Companion]
, a card revisited and finished off digitally in my Craft Studio.

This is the card I made back in 2014 when I was on Sheena Douglas's design team. All the stamps used  were from one of her sets and coloured with paints and distress inks.  The originals were all sent to Sheena, but I have  photos  and it seems a shame not to be using them.

Thank you for calling by to see me today. I always appreciate the comments you leave for me.

Feminine and Fancy

Feminine and fancy is the new theme  at Try it on Tuesdays,
as always we can interpret the theme however we would like.
The girls have some fantastic examples to show you so pop over here for all the details.
We would love you to join us and see how you interpret our theme.

Once again I have two pieces to show you today.
The one above was digitally altered  in my Craft Studio  using elements from Mischief Circus kits.

This is the journal page I used  for the background.
It had been sprayed with inks and a variety of stencils used. Some inked with distress inks and also a small area of embossing to add a bit of texture. The image of the lady is a die cut.
I hope her day did have the happy ending she was looking for.

Thank you for calling in to see me today. I always appreciate the comments you leave for me
