Time to Create Art -AJJ

A real mixture on this page, mops ups on the background, sprinkles of brusho powder,
lots of random stamping, the plume pen and pot are  from Indigo Blu.
There is even a little stencilling and a final spray   using Dylusions Gold Stars mica spray.

Lost in Time-- for AJJ

Oh, that we had time to just sit and stare,
get lost in our own thoughts and watch the world go by.

I used all sorts of things on  this mixed media page.
A watercolour wash , background of pale blue.
Next Distress  inks, Abandoned Coral, Black Soot and a little Mustard Seed.
A bit of random stamping, before I added  the stencil figure [Donna Downey]
I had made a digital page  of time pieces etc . which I used as her base,
black soot to shade it all, before cutting the shape out.
The clock stencil [Tim Holtz] that I added with modeling paste
was lightly highlighted with gold gilding wax.

I have added a few words round the side of Alice
'Sometimes she sits and thinks, sometimes she just sits'.
I hope Valerie doesn't mind , as it was on her inspirational blog that I first saw this idea
to write around the figures..

Alice is off to Art Journal Journey,

there are still a couple of days to join the fun  .
August's theme is Time.
The awesome inspirational Gallery for this theme can be found
  HERE

This is another scheduled post , I will catch up with you all soon.
Thank you for calling to see me, I realy appreciate the comments you leave for me.

Step back in time and believe --for AJJ

Todays journal page for
Art Journal Journey is another collage.

My last contributions for the month  are all left in scheduled posts
so I hope they get published okay, I  may be late with my visits to  see you over the weekend.

These two sweet children found in my, 'save in case you need it box',
just shouted out to me to be used.
So this page began with me thinking back to the days of childhood,
how innocent  children are, they believe and  trust us to look after them, they see no wrong in their lives,
so its up to us as adults to protect, nurture  and cherish them.
They are our future.

A digital base made in my Craft Studio.
Stencil [ Tim Holtz], for texture, rubbed over with gold gilding wax.
The clock is an Alterations die cut, I used  Tea dye distress embossing power
on this piece and a touch of the gold wax.
the clockface was coloured with Vintage Photo distress ink.
The large word stamps are Crafters Companion.
When I had finished this page, the photo  I took ,went back into the digital program and I added the last overlay framing.

Thank you for calling to see me today, I realy appreciate your comments.
I will  call to see you  if I am able to get an internet connection over the next few days.

Let them play for AJJ

A digital journal page for
My month of exploring and creating pages for the  'Time ' theme is nearly ending.
I have been on quite a journey and have been inspired by all the awesome contributions.
Please pop over HERE to see the gallery, it is amazing
This collage was assembled  with me thinking back .
to times when children were  allowed to play and explore what could be found around them.
Not always easy these days  in our troubled world

This is a photograph my OH took from our window across the valley on a misty morning earlier this year. I used this as the base background for this page.

Thank you for calling to see me today, comments you leave me are always appreciated.

Capture Life's Moments

A mixed media page in my journal today.
The base which I used had been created on  my computer.
Next came a spot of random stamping.

Followed with a bit of texture using modelling paste and a Tim Holtz stencil.
The quote was stamped onto tissue then glued into place, covering my first effort that was so feint it could hardly be seen.
The clock is an Alterations die cut, coloured with acrylic paint and rubbed lightly with silver gilding wax. The butterfly was also a die cut with the same colouring.
Last  addition some fussy cut flowers [Tim Holtz stamp].

Now in case you wonder why there are no hands on the clock,
I am doing my own thing and slowing  time down a little today.
It can be any time I want it to be.

The metal plate reads...... ''Capture life's moments'',   so I did just that, when creating this page.

There is still another week to  to enter the challenge
where the theme is 'Sending you Flowers'.

Also nearly a week to join the fun at
Art Journal Journey

where the theme is 'Time'.

Thank you for stopping by to seem me today, I always appreciate the comments you leave me.

Live every moment for AJJ

Live every moment

Well I am certainly living every moment of this months, 'Time'  theme.
I haven't always turned to by much loved inks and stamps,
I have taken myself  off on  a journey discovering digital art.
It is also something that will be easier for me to access when I am away in the caravan.
A lap top takes less space, however my travelling supplies  cupboard is still full to bursting.

Thank you for visiting me and I
hope you enjoy every moment of your day.

Time is the Wisest Councillor -- for AJJ-

A digital  collage page for
  Art Journal Journey.

A little time ago I showed you a page, with
 Hugo flying off

on the family fish to visit his lady friend.,
well here he is with Maud, the love of his life.  Hope he got a good welcome from her,
his mother wasn't best pleased.
She does seem to have a secret sort of smile on her face.
He looks  as if he hasn't a care in the world and has time to sit and gaze at his beloved.

This collage was made using my Craft Studio programs I have stored on my computer.

Thank you for calling to see me today,
I appreciate the comments and support you give my crafty journey.

Golden Hours for AJJ

Golden hours

Back in an inky mode today for this journal page.
A watercolour washed background.
Stencils of the clock and flowers were added using distress inks,
The butterflies[Stampers Anonymous] were spray painted with a home made colour blend,
it had been in the spray for ages and had to be used up,
I ended up using the brush as they came out all grainy looking.
Anyway the sweet image is from A Day for Daisies.
Looking at this does make me think of  babies and something an old neighbour said to me
many, many years ago, when my boys were  just weeks old..

Never wish them to be older,
enjoy every moment of , now.
You can never turn back the clock.

Thank you for calling to see me today, I appreciate the time to take to leave me a comment

Remember --for AJJ

With the passages of time, we store up our memories.
Often its the small things that get forgotten,
we always can think of the larger events.
But something we see or do ,
will make one of these small snippets pop into our mind
and give us great joy to remember them.
The quote reads,' take time to enjoy the small things in life'.
This page for Art Journal Journey

A background sprinkled with Blue Brusho powder then spritzed with water.
Some stencils of a clock and a die cut clock.
I added the sweet Paintbox Poppets image  [from a Crafters Companion CD ]

On the left is an altered version of my page.  I took the above photo into my digital program and added  a few feathered friends at the bottom left.  I  wonder which version you like.

Thank you for stopping by, I do so appreciate the comments you leave for me.

Story Time for AJJ

'Time is a Great Story Teller',  are the words I used on this Journal page.
How true is that phrase, each day has its own story line,
even if it is made up of mundane chores or going to work.
But often something of note happens and we will retell this  over and over again,
 remembering the time it happened.
A digital journal page for Art Journal Journey
If you haven't joined us already there are still a few more days left using this theme,
but what is more notable is the amazing artwork that everyone has shared., please visit and take a look.

Thank you for calling to see me, your visits are all appreciated.

Summer Time

Lots of folk will be enjoying some  'summer sun', on their holidays.
I wanted this to be a happy journal page.
Mustard Seed distress ink and blue acrylic paint for the background
and my usual turn to addition of  random stamping.
'The bathing belle's photo comes from the Found Relatives set [Tim Holtz].
I had a few snippets of stencils on the table and added those with the die cut clock.

Another page for Art Journal Journey

Thank you for taking time to visit me, I always appreciate the comments you leave.

Sending you flowers

Sending you Flowers........
is the next challenge over at Try it on Tuesdays
A lovely summery  theme, that we are sure will appeal to many folk.
Please pop over to see how we all interpreted this challenge and read all the details.

I used stencils [Tim Holtz] for the backgrounds for  this card.  Distress inks for the colours, Abandoned Coral, Twisted Citron and Fossilized Amber. Only a few stamps this time, Studio 490 and Crafters Companion. The flowerd were all pre cut and just needed to be assembled and shaded on the edges.
with Vintage Photo distress ink.
We hope you will join the fun
at TioT's this time

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

The second part of this post is for
  Art Journal Journey

then had a lot of fun adding digi images and paints.

Birdy time-- for AJJ-

Time is flying by and here we are more than half way through August already.
On this page my Quirky Birds [Tim Holtz]  are making an appearance,
don't know where time goes these days.
I think these birds must be flying off with it.

This is a page for Art Journal Journey and  the August theme of Time.

Again lots of distress inks for the background, mainly Mustard Seed and Spiced Marmalade.
I used a dotty stencil and when the paste was dry, rubbed it over with silver gilding wax.
The random stamping and watch are from a variety of companies, but as they are unmounted and stored all together it is impossible to give credit to the makers.

Thank you for calling to see me today, I love reading the comments you leave for me.

Play Time for AJJ

Just over half way through the month of  the 'Time' theme at
Art Journal Journey

I am enjoying visiting as many blogs as I can
to see all the  inspirational pages that everyone has been making.
Here is the link to the gallery which is awesome

Lots of spray paints on this background for this page including a gold mica spray.

The daisy type flower is one of my own free hand creations, using thick acrylic paint, not something I do very often as I much prefer to use stamps.
I used one of my handmade[clay molded]  clocks  for the center.
Stamps  used were from Indigo Blu --some were  unnamed.
The images were water coloured.
A little detail embossing through a stencil   to use up some modelling paste, smeared with gilding wax when dry.

Poor  Alice  was late, for a' Play  Time  Fun  Day',  organised by the  March Hare,
I think he may  have been a little cross with her as he holds out the watch trying ,
to show her that she was meant to come two days earlier.

I remember those stories of Alice by Lewis Carroll do you?

Thank you for stopping by, every comment you leave is always appreciated.

Fragments of time in 10 minutes -- forAJJ and Journal 52

A page made using  bits and pieces, die cuts that hadn't quite cut through, in fact anything that was lying on my desk and in my bits box.
I am still on catch up with my Journal 52 pages, this Prompt for week 31
was -- '10 Minute Challenge'.
I did manage in time, it was just a question of sticking everything down.
I even used a stencil with a little gold gilding wax, the best bit of fun  however was the colouring
I masked  the photo strip, then set about spraying a variety of Dylusions paints to colour the page.
The heat gun came out to help the drying so I could stamp on my chosen word.

You could say time, is made up of fragments
when you break it down into seconds, hours and days......
A second is not long enough,  an hour may be just right and a day simply perfect.
So this  page is off to  Art Journal Journey as well.

It takes crafting time up, trying to be tidy, so maybe my desk is asking to be cleared as I only have a tiny bit of space to work in  today. But I used more than a fragment of time and  I had some fun.

Thank you for stopping by, I always appreciate the comments you leave for me.

p.s. My desk still looks messy

There's no time like the present---- for AJJ

I've gone all digital  today for this journal page.
All I need to do is print it out and stick it in my A4 journal.
Again I  used   the My Craft Studio program to make this collage.
It looks rather busy, but another aspect of time is ,
that  is what happens to us.
We rush here and there wonder if we will get everything done that we hope to that day.
Then whoosh the day has passed.
My mantra for today is
''there's no time like the present''.

Thank you for calling to see me, I appreciate all the support and comments you leave for me.

A Face in Time for AJJ

A rather busy colourful page from me today and
a  good excuse to use this Stencil Girl face and a liberal amount of Black Soot distress ink.
My quote choice today is............
'When someone shows you who they are,
believe them the first time.'

A background  painted pale green with water colours,   then while it was still wet I sprinkled on some green and red Brusho powder and let nature take its course. I did a little random stamping [ another nameless stamp]. Next stamped out a number of clock faces and set too to fussy cut them out. I can tell you it was much easier to stick them down.

10 days have passed already for the August theme, 'Time '.
at
 Art Journal Journey

you can see the amazing inspirational gallery
here.
.........................................................................................................
I would also like to add a reminder for
  Try it on Tuesdays

there is still another week to run for our Stencils challenge
We have some fantastic entries so far and there is still another week  for you to join the fun.

Thank you for calling to see me today,
I always appreciate the comments you leave for me.

Rock and Roll for AJJ

I wonder how many of us can remember Bill Haley and the Comets
There's showing my age, but it was a popular tune for many years.
Said to have been the worlds first Rock Anthem, this is my tribute to....
'Rock around the Clock Night'.
So I have gone back in time again for this months theme at

A digital collage page, looks like they are having a lot of fun.
Those were the days.

Thank you for calling to see me today,
your comments are always read and appreciated.

Remember a moment - for AJJ

A journal page for

On the left you can see how it began, with some handwritten words.
coloured with water colour paint. Then some images stamped onto tissue, Indigo Blu  and Stampers  Anonymous.
More paint, a found relatives photo, some stenciling, even a bit of crackle paint. I added the die cut heart, then decided to stop, after adding the fussy cut bird.

I think all of us can remember more than one special moment, that sticks in our memories,
perhaps forgotten for quite a while, then suddenly something happens and whoosh,
back it comes and we look back with fondness  to that special time.
One such moment for me was  triggered when I came across some of my wedding photos.
I remembered  my Grandparents celebrating
their Golden Wedding Anniversary. We had made a surprise family get together and they loved it.
I think they would have liked to visit Paris,
but back then their lives were all about their home and family.

So, go on,   have a little think and see what special moments pop into your mind.

Thank you for stopping by to see me today, I always appreciate the time you take to leave me a comment.

If only Time could tell Stories for AJJ

A digital page today for

A collage  using MCS programs on my computer,
can you imagine  what it would be like if time could talk.
The noise of all those voices would be quite deafening .
But what a story that would be.

I think this  little girl is playing in her own imaginary story, where  time is  not an issue,
and the day could be whatever she  wanted it to be.

Thank you for calling to see me today,
I realy appreciate all the comments you leave me.
