Colouful dreams.... for AJJ

 'Colour in my World'  for.....
Art Journal Journey

Today I asked myself a question... do I dream in colour?
To be perfectly honest I don't know, but if I did,  I think I would like it to be soft tones  shades, that have a calming influence. It would be a happy place to be
and I think blues would be my prefered colour choices.

Today's page is all digital, although I have added it to what I call my digital journal, which is a photo of one of my own colour washed journal pages.

I am also adding a reminder today for the current Try it on Tuesdays challenge
Stitch It,
which is the theme until next Tuesday.

Thank you for calling in today, you are all most welcome here.
Digital information can

Colours of a Rainbow for AJJ

Have you noticed how the colours  in a rainbow, blend together then slowly disappear.
There are a lot of
'Colours in my World'................ today for
 Art Journal Journey

This is how the page began.
First of all a coating of white gesso.
There are some purple and green  patches of brusho powders,
not one of my better ideas, but enough to send me on another colourful experiment.
I rubbed patches of wax crayon on the page and blended them into patches using a wet baby wipe

Why did I add  butterflies,   they  change,  from humble beginnings to the beautiful  creatures we  love to see around our gardens.  Their colours are a joy to see.

Thank you for calling in today, you are always welcome here.

What colour is your brew today.

Today's 'Colours in my world'......
are beige and brown  or maybe coffee and cream.
To me these are not dull shades,
especially when I can relate them to a favourite drink.
My  tea would usually have milk , coffee would need  cream and a sprinkle of chocolate,
 but never  sugar,
I wonder  what  would be the colour of your   drink today?

I am also saying hello to friends over at

where T stands for Tuesday and we are all welcome with a tea related post.

My tea cups are all stacked and the kettle has just boiled .
The base layers of this page are mainly stencils coloured with distress oxides.
Die cut cups and saucers, material scraps and a napkin. There were a few digital additions, the words and sugar lumps.

This is my cup of choice today.
Earl Grey, so no milk addded to this cuppa.
As you can see I was working on the computer, editing my photos for the page.

Thank you for calling in  to see me.
Happy T day everyone.

Yellow for AJJ

My colour today for

is yellow

A simple Brusho splattered  background, the pot does say Yellow, but if you have used Brusho before,
you will know that you don't get what it says on the pot you get a great variety of shades and tones.
The flower is a digital image.
When I found this  definition of yellow on an internet search, I thought yes, it is a colour to make me feel happy.
But the best part was the last line......

Yellow is the colour of hope.

Thank you for calling in today, you are very welcome here

It all began with a bit of blue... for AJJ

A hybrid journal spread for
 Art Journal Journey

and my theme of
Colour in my World

This is how the page began.
The base coloured with an old  dried our ink pad that I spritzed with water, I also sprayed the page so added a sprinkle of brusho powders.
I   quite liked the resulting colour shades, next came some stamping, feathers and   what looks like weeds, but I am sure they have a name.

So after the photos were taken it was off to the computer to have some digital additions [notes in my sidebar]

Today's pages   started off with
  shades of blue,
but I soon realised that I needed more brighter, happier  colours in my world today.
So, I added  a colourful bird and bright feathers and immediately my page looked a lot more cheerful.

I hope you are all having a happy day.

Pink and Unique for AJJ

Today my colours of choice have a rosy glow to them.
A lot of pink, a bit of dark red and a golden complexion.

This is my  8 x 8 inch journal page for
and my theme choice of.....Colours in my world.

This mixed media  page began life with some raised  embossed and flat stencils. It was distress oxides that I used for shading

The two gals a were on a Jane Davenport tissue.
Pink is not a colour I would normally use, but  for me it mainly seems to be a girly colour.
So don't for get the moment when I chose pink for my main colour choice.

The other additions were computer generated.

Thank you for calling in to see me , I hope you will join me  and explore some
' colours in your world' today.

Colour in my world ..... for Art Journal Journey

Oops I wonder who stole her colour.
Well,   is was not me ........

Exciting news to share today,
I am thrilled to have been asked by Susi to host September's  theme over at
  Art Journal Journey

The theme I have chosen is.......
Colour in my World.

Colour is all around us,
we have favourite colours,..........  colours that perhaps change the way we feel,................
colours we favour using when we create our art. So this month I hope you will enjoy using colour and share it with all the lovely folk  at Art Journal Journey.
. I am looking forward to seeing  the colour in your world this month.

My first page started with the colouring in page
you see on the left

I liked the quote on this page..
"Closed my eyes for a second
and someone stole all my colour."

The scissors are getting used quite a bit doing the fussy cutting as well. The background is material and I  used a stencil to add a little more background colour.
The words I added were computer generated.

Continuing with my digital
experiments, I decided to change the colours  of the original page . These are for sure brighter colours than I would   usually use. But, for me this month is going to be all about colours.
However, I'm sure many of my favourite shades will still be used.

So, get out your  paint, crayons, pencils, inks,   whatever products, styles  etc  you use,    add   some colour to  your  journal pages and have fun.

Thank you for calling in today.
You are all very welcome here.
