Sit and enjoy the moment- and maybe drink a cuppa with me. - for AJJ

In my garden there is.....................
Time to just sit and enjoy the moment.
A digital page for
 Art Journal Journey

First stages, of layering images onto my base,
which was a photo taken in my garden in late May.
I wasn't happy with the pots in the left hand corner, the freedom of altering digitally is a big plus on these occasions.

This is the photo I used,  showing the steps up to the back of the garden  where we have a greenhouse, a wild patch and some apple trees.

Its is  also  T stands for  Tuesdays, over at
 Bleubeard and Elizabeths,

I am dropping in for a quick cuppa with the T folk.
Its good to sit in the garden , this year our weather hasn't  been the best, but the garden still needs attention and my mug of tea can find a resting place anywhere,
even added digitally to my garden photo.

I am also adding a reminder for the current challenge theme over at
Try it on Tuesdays
which is Happy Holidays,
My page is certainly somewhere where I would like to spend some free time,
and I do, because  as you can see it is part of  my garden.

Thank you for calling in to see me today, its lovely to have your company.

Meg and the Pig for AJJ

Hi I'm Meg.

In my garden there is...................... A pig...

Its   not a real pig, just this stone one that lives in the shrubbery.
It doesn't do much and won't pay ball or stick, it just sits there all day and does nothing.
I'd much rather chat to the one over the fence  on this journal page

First stages of my digital altering are here on the left.
Again elements from Mischief circus kits.

The original  base  is this cross stitch. piece  I stitched a good number of years ago. The photo was taken through glass and isn't as good as it is in real life.

Another page for July  over at
Art Journal Journey

where you will find lots of inspiration
for the theme

Thank you for calling by and for taking time to leave me a comment, they are always appreciated.

Eat your Greens for AJJ

Two Digital pages today for

For my theme choice of
In my garden there is............  vegetables

So following on from yesterday's  Vegetable patch ,
I have made a couple of pages that I hope will make you smile.
Children and vegetable often cause parents some strife.
I had one who loved the veg and another who absolutely hated them.
Now as adults they  would wonder what all the fuss was about. Typical!!!!

This second page come from a memory with my Gran.
When she tried to tell us babies were found in the cabbage patch.
By the way, my Gran was a wonderful old lady and we loved her very much.
Can you imagine the look on our kids faces if they were told that these days.

Another afternoon glued to the television tomorrow,
with the finals of the Men's singles match at Wimbleton
Then after that I won't have to juggle with tennis matches and the
Tour de France that still has two more weeks of viewing.
Thank you for calling in to see me today, I appreciate the comments you leave for me  and I am enjoying my visits to the folks over at AJJ.

The vegetable patch for AJJ

In my garden there is.................A vegetable patch.
July theme.

Unfortunately we don't have a vegetable  patch these days, but we did, back in the day, when  our family were small. Grass is much easier to cope with now we are retired .
This double page spread was water coloured with some random stamping,
and an article from a free magazine on raised veggie beds.
The vegetables were stamped [Sheena Douglas]  and fussy cut.

Thanks for calling in to see me today,
your comments are always appreciated.

The Head Gardener for AJJ

In my garden there are..... Two Gardeners

A collage page for my digital journal using photos taken on one of the days
when it wasn't  raining before we went off in the caravan.
for the theme at
Art Journal Journey

Every garden should have a Head Gardener, mine has two.
Meg and my Husband.
Even now in her old age she will sit while the mower is being prepared,
then  follow it round  until all the grass is cut.
The photos  show  a few glimpses of her inspecting the work in progress.

Thank you for calling in to see me today, I really appreciate your comments

Tips for the gardener... for AJJ

In my garden there are.......................
Insects
Most gardeners like to have a healthy flourishing garden, but for many pests can be an issue.
So this page in my journal, features some garden tips I cut out from a magazine, where there was a list of what to grow, where to plant it and how it would help our plants to grow.
It is a kraft paper journal so I used a base paint of watered down acrylic white, followed by a flower stencil coloured with distress inks.

French Marigolds.

Plant near tomatoes and their pungent smell
 will keep white fly away.
My parents used to grow these and I can say from experience that
the smell is very unpleasant
But the tomatoes were fantastic.

Nasturtiums

Planted beside brassicas, the white flies choose to lay their eggs on the leaves. instead of your cabbages.
A big plus is that we can eat the flowers.

Poached Egg plants

Loved by beneficial insects like hoverfly,
the kind you want to encourage in your gardens
, their larvae will eat the blackfly and aphids.

I'm sure we have all been given ideas from gardening friends and its much better than the  harmful chemicals we see on sale in the shops.

for my theme of
In my Garden there is..................

Thank you for calling in to see me today.
I always appreciate the comments you take time to leave for me.
