Use Book Pages at TioT's

 

A new theme begins today over at Try it on Tuesdays

'Use Book Pages'.

An page torn from an old book which I purchased some time ago in a Charity shop

was the starting point for this journal page.

 The edges  of the pages had torn  and they  discoloured naturally over time. I didn't even have to shade the edges simply paste it down into my Kraft journal. I did however take a short cut and add the flowers and jar from the digital  computer program I use

I chose to create a journal page as the title of this new theme had me thinking of childhood,  when  remembered summer days were always warm and sunny. Playing at my  grandparents house  with my cousin and picking flowers   that maybe we shouldn't be doing when there were so many pretty wild flowers just over the fence.  

I used a hands on journal page as my starting point, with texture paste, stencils, die cuts, found relatives [TH] and a piece of a torn napkin. The additional flowers and dogs were added in the computer program I  use.

 A short post to share a journal page  at Art Journal Journey

 and the theme Neet chose for us this month... Type

For the background I used an old letter and number stencil,  

dropped paint onto the page that didn't go where I had hoped, so  it is still work in progress. 

 However with the aid of my digital computer program  I was able to create this page.

Layers and scraps  with different type fonts

made  what looks like a happy face to me.

Homemade Memories

Feelings are often hard to put into words but if we note or type those words they will be remembered for a very long time.

However you spend your day I hope it will be a happy one for you.

'Keep it Simple'

is our new theme over at Try it on Tuesdays.

I have made this card  using a single ALL& Create image and coloured it with watercolour paint.

Leaving a large area white is not something I am comfortable with [the black edge is a piece of card that I used   as a base to get the photo ] I would have liked to shade the edges of the card and perhaps add a border, but I had to stay within the theme's guidelines.

My journal page began with some stamped letters and numbers,

torn scraps  of book, dictionary paper a few scraps from the bits box and some paper dolls [TH]

There are so many styles of print to choose from to add to a journal page 

and these children just couldn't make up their minds.  I do hope that one day they will get to type  their own story  in their chosen font  perhaps using old fashioned pen and ink, or a typewriter,  although these days it would probably be  typed up using a computer.
