Tea, cake and a candle to light the way.

Hello to all  friends who call in to see me today.
I hope you all had a lovely Christmas Holiday.

I have a couple of photos to share, this first one is for
where there is only a few more days left to join Valerie's theme of
Light and Darkness
This has been work in progress for a couple of days, starting off with a painted base layer of my own then added digital images. Snatched' me'  time,  was last on the list,  with the family staying.

Over the Christmas holidays there has been much laughter in the house
and of course lots of food consumed.
So before it all gets eaten here is a slice of my cake rich fruit cake, that I showed you last week, while I was adding the marzipan and icing..

Happy T day to all my friends to stop by, to visit from

to share Tea this Tuesday.
I have so enjoyed your company and I hope that the coming year will be good for you all.

  1. Oh dear, I wish you hadn't shown me that wonderful cake, I need a slice right now! I do miss all the English specialities over here. I could bake a cake, true, but then I would eat it alone! Love the journal page, its really lovely, I have a 'thing' for candles. Have a great T day, and enjoy the last eek of the year. Thanks for all the support you have given us this year at AJJ, you rock! I loved my doggy birthday card, too, thanks again! Hugs, Valerie

  3. I love your journal page. And the sentiment: Let your light shine.
That cake is yummy. I miss English Christmas cake. I made a small Christmas cake, but I didn't have time to make marzipan from scratch, and then on Christmas day I forgot to ice it altogether, so it is sitting on the sideboard wrapped in aluminium foil. (note to self: must ice the cake... and eat it!).
Happy T-Day and also a happy new Year,
    Hugs,
    Lisca

  4. Lovely page, the colours are so soft and the candle glow warm and inviting! Your Christmas fruit cake with the marzipan and icing looks so delicious and has made me crave a slice - luckily I made one too so I'm off to raid my cake tin ... lol ... yum! Happy T Day and a very Happy New Year, may 2017 bring you joy, peace, love, and light! Wishing you the very best today and all year long. J :-) x

  5. What a lovely page. I love all the distressing, the ink splotches, twinkly stars and candle. You really captured the theme beautifully. The cake looks decadent. I still can't believe you make marzipan from scratch!

  9. You have created a fantastic AJJ entry. I can't believe how many beautiful AJJ entries you have shared this month. I can't seem to get my act together, so not only have you created beautiful art, you baked a Christmas cake and iced it with homemade marzipan. I need to follow you around for awhile, and maybe I'll get more accomplished. You are a ball of fire.

Thanks for sharing your gorgeous art, as well as your Christmas cake and tea with us for T this Tuesday. In case I miss visiting you before next week (which I doubt, or course), I want to wish you a lovely, safe New Year.

  10. Loving your piece today Yvonne. The candle is perfect for your amazing background. I love that grungy/almost steampunk effect. And your fruitcake looks yummy. We don't go much for it here, and all you can get is these awful factory made ones, but homemade cake like yours looks so delicious. Someday I need to try one. Glad to hear it was a great holiday and happy T day. Hugs-Erika

  20. Another gorgeous digi page, love the pretty candle. I love cake, but I don't like the fruit kind. I remember my Mom always having it when I was young at Christmas. It always came in a round tin that had pretty winter designs on it.

  22. It really is a great theme for this time of year, and this is another lovely interpretation - glad to hear you managed to find some crafting time despite the festivities (I've not done so well so far).
