A digital collage page for this weeks word at the
which is............. Blackbird.
I took a trip down memory lane when I was assembling this page.
Remembering when I was young and getting your photo taken was quite an event.
Not many folk could afford a camera.
Parents would say things like, stand very still,
'''smile for the camera'' or ''smile for the birdie''
and we did just that.
The results were usually cheesy, stiff looking grins
and we sometimes looked like a poker was stuck up our backs.
Photos were black and white, how times have changed.
Thank you for stopping by to see what I have been making, I always appreciate
the comments you leave for me.
Made using elements
from Mischief Circus Kits
and my own stored images
Yes, times have changed! Love your journal page with the beautiful raven, looks like the one who always comes and steals the fat balls here! Have a great day, hugs, Valerie

Wonderful black bird, I like it :)
ReplyDeleteOh, he's rather splendid! And yes, the changes in technology are astounding. I've just been helping my 99-year-old neighbour to talk to my mother in the Czech Republic via Skype, and she thinks it's magical!

Wonderful digital page Yvonne !! Love this composition, and of course, this splendid bird!! Big hugs.
ReplyDeleteI think this is a wonderful digital page! Made me smile as I have recently been going through the photos that I brought back from my parents house- some decidedly cheesy ones in there :-)

Brilliant digi collage, very clever indeed!
ReplyDeleteI have NO idea why your posts are showing up a day late, but blogger is truly frustrating me.
ReplyDeleteI was so happy to see this post. I remember the first camera I bought. I think it cost more than the digital one I own now (which was NOT cheap). I shot mostly black and white film, but once I took a class in college, I learned to process color film myself. Of course, I didn't have the equipment needed to set up my own photography studio, but it was so much fun, I never went back.
I adore this latest entry. Your digital recreation is amazing, and that bird is definitely both photo ready and ready for us to smile at. The coloration was perfect, as was the beautiful background you chose to show the black bird. You have such a magical way with digi art. I'm always impressed, and even more so today with that touch of green you added that made the entire piece just pop off the screen!
What a wonderful digital collage. I've not really worked in this area at all and have been too intimidated. Your pieces are lovely. :)
ReplyDeleteMemories indeed Yvonne and what a great take on them in your page, love it. Have a great weekend xxx
ReplyDeleteLove your page to remember the older times. My newborn pictures are in black and white, how cameras have changed since then! Sometimes I miss the old rolls of film!
ReplyDeleteLove this! We never had photos taken when we were children/younger apart from the yearly school ones which were always terrible.
ReplyDeleteHugs Flo xx
