All kinds of everything for AJJ

Hi folk I am still on the catch up as we are now home
and preparing for the family to stay for New Year.
By the weekend normality could be here.
But I was getting a few withdrawal symptoms,
so I decided to post this page for
Collage with Journalling
The current theme has only a few days left to run
and the inspiration there is fantastic.

This is the base of journal collage page, added to over time. I  added bits and pieces that I  enjoy using, but had no idea where it would end.
Stamps [a variety]and stencils, of course.
Plenty of paint and ink.
Distress ink.
Favourite G45 papers, fussy cut.
Quote, which reads--
'You are never to old to dream a new dream'.
Die cut.
I think you get the general  idea.

Thank you for calling in to see me today, I do so appreciate the comments you leave.

Are you in TioT's Spotlight?

we are ending the year with a
 Spotlight Post.
The team have picked out some favourite projects  from all your entries
and wish we could have chosen you all. We will be back in January for our
new challenge of the New Year.
Being a DT member of Tiot's has given me the opportunity to visit many folk,
but above all the inspiration to try new things.
These last few months it has been digital pieces, one I am sharing today.
One of my next tasks is to try out parchment craft again, so watch this space.

'The lady in the twilight'

I tweeked this page in my Craft Studio program, using
My first parchment piece in many years [a Groovi plate from Clarity, I hope a few
more might come my way for Christmas], Mischief Circus kit and found, stored images.
This is the first of a few scheduled posts,
there doesn't seem to be enough hours in the day at this time of year.
Thank you for stopping by, I will catch up with you all soon.

Joy to the World

A mixed media journal page today.
It started off digital, with stored and found images and a couple from Mischief Circus.
You can see where my decorated Joy came from, in the photo below.
The journalling  I added reads.....
'Joy and peace to the world this Christmastime.'

This is one of the cards that I made this year  using Clarity stamps.
A simple one layer and quite a challenge in itself for me.
With a bit of colour  tweeking etc. in my Craft Studio, it seemed to fit into my collage page.

I will be joining the folk over at
the theme is Collage with journalling
and
the theme there is  'Christmas'.

Thank you for calling by to see me,
the comments you leave for me are always very much appreciated.

The Showgirl

A quick post  I didn't think I would be able to get any crafting done yesterday,
but these digital pages can become just as addictive to make as actual hands on craft work.
Especially when the hands  aren't working as well, to grip hold of things,
you realy only need to use a couple of finger tips to get a result.
The last  Cheeky challenge theme of the the year over at Dezinaworld is
'Burgundy'.
so another digital page using elements from Dezinaworld  and Mischief Circus kits and my own stored additions put together in my Craft Studio program.

Thank you for calling by to see me today.
I appreciate the time you take to leave me a comment especially at this busy time of the year.

Sharing the umbrella for AJJ

A digital collage page made just for fun using  Mischief Circus kits,
some of my stored images, with a   free to use quote by an unknown author.

''We are like a snowflake,
all different in our own
beautiful way''.

I am sharing this with Art Journal Journey
where Valerie has given us the theme for December,..  Collage with Journalling .

Thank you for stopping by to see what I have been making.
the comments you leave me are always appreciated.

The Snow Maiden

The Snow Maiden

Another journal page today that started out with  a mixed media background,
with scraps of paper a bit of embossing,  a stencil, spray paints, some die cuts
and a bit of random stamping.

This page is for Art Journal Journey
where Valerie is hosting this months theme of
Collage with Journalling.

It did start off quite pale, but I can never resist the spray paint bottles.
Now for some altering  of the first photo and a play with some digital additions,
using free to use Googled  images and some from a Mischief Circus kit.

My last version is for a reminder of the last challenge theme
for this year at Try it on Tuesdays
which is Snow/snowflakes/winter whites.

Thank you for calling to see me today.
I always appreciate the  comments you leave for me.

Is he for me?

The Cheeky Challenge theme  over at Dezinaworld this week is
Rich Man/Woman.

We had our first snow of the winter this afternoon,
so what better way to escape and go create a digital journal page.
I used images from Dezinaworld and Mischief Circus kits
and some of my own stored and free image.
Those of you who visit me often know I often have a story buzzing around my head as  my pages progress.
This is no exception.

What if money grew on trees and a girl could ask  for a new car  because she had seen a colour she liked.
Phew, what a life and not for me.
Anyway Olive did just that,  but ,
James being very much in love decided to buy her a tame lion as well.
No one else in their town had one and she had liked the animals when they went on Safari last month.
Olive  has issues, like, is it friendly, where will she keep it.
is it house trained, what does it eat.
I think James has gone a step too far this time, his smile soon will go,
as she insists the lion  goes back and he gets a refund..

Will they ever find happiness?
For me that is something money cannot buy.

I also would like to join in over at Art Journal Journey again
The theme is Collage with Journalling.

Thank you for calling to see me today,
I always appreciate the comments you leave for me

Just be you for AJJ

'Collage-with some journalling, '  is the theme for December over at

Its a good way to use up some collected bits and pieces that lurk on the craft desk. I had a couple of leaves cut from hand made paper, so they got another coat of ink. The bird  just needed to be fussy cut and the image  had  need of some paint. Both are Dina Wakley images.
The background page had been done for a while, I changed my mind at the time as I wasn't happy with the pink shades.
I used stamps and an alphabet stencil for the words.

Thank you for calling to see me today,
I always appreciate the comments you leave for me

Let it snow at TioT's

Snowflakes, Snow or Winter Whites,
is the theme  for our  December challenge over at Try it on Tuesdays,
please pop over to see what we all made.

Isn't it amazing how many shades of white there are and how difficult a colour
it is to photograph in the winter.
One of my layers was embossed in a Sheena folder and just edged with silver.
Embossing powder was used on the next layers [Silver and White] round the edges.
The main central  image  a Deep Red stamp was stamped with 'Watering Can ' Archival ink.

I used pearl cardstock to die cut the snowflakes [Spellbinders].

Thank you for calling to see me today, I always appreciate the comments you leave for me.

A dogs life-- for AJJ

A mixed media journal page for
Collage with journalling.

''Meg''.
It is 14 years ago this month when this grand old lady entered our home.
She has given us years of unconditional love and companionship and still
enjoys her toys and treats, although like me and my OH she isn't so nippy on her feet these days.

This is how the page began, water coloured  base, some random stamped images,
.The dog was fussy cut from the front of a free Waitrose weekly supermarket magazize.
Meg can often give us that, ''who me'',  look.

The photos I added to the digital page were taken today, when Meg was playing with her beloved ball.
I kid you not, if the smoke alarm goes off when we are cooking,  its the first thing she runs to find and save.
Then comes to warn  us,  barking,  with it in her mouth.
The added digital items were from my stored found free to used images and Mischief Circus kits.

Meg and I thank you for calling to see us today.
The comments you leave are always appreciated.

The Gay Parisienne

Over at Dezinaworld
the new  Cheeky Challenge theme for this week is
 Musical Theatre.
This page is vaguely based on the title of  an Edwardian Comedy called
 'The Gay Parisienne,'
it was first performed in !894.

So a digital page from me using some  png images from June at Dezinaworld's Kits.
The lovely lady enjoying her wine, the window frame, a  view of the Eiffel Tower and the chaise.
The other images were found from various  free sources and Mischief circus.
I created the this scene using  my Craft Studio, where it is easy to alter sizes and colours.

Thanks Valerie, I will add it to
Art Journal Journey as well.
December is Collage and Journalling

Thank you for stopping by to see me today,
I always appreciate you taking the time to leave me a comment.

Live your adventures for AJJ

The theme for December at Art Journal Journey is
Collage [+ Journalling]

This page started off with a digital collage I had been experimenting with, when I printed it out I had my printer set a A5 so rather than print another for my journal, I  stuck it down and got out the paints.

I used a few  left over colours around the edges, that I had mixed using white  acrylic as a base,  and  a tiny bit of home made spray paint.
The stencil was waiting to be put away, so that helped the edging.
Again  I looked in the bits box and used a bird and a clock face in the corner, there was a bit of a paint mess to cover here,
where the end had come off the spray as I was trying to get the last dregs out of the bottle.
The quotes read.....
''Life was meant for a great adventure''.
and around the edge is one of
 Ophrah Winfrey's...
''The biggest adventure you can take
is to live the life of your dreams''.

I do hope that the girl was doing just that,  as she went walking with her dog.

Thank you for calling to see me today, your comments are always appreciated.

Bah Humbug its a Grungy Christmas

 Its 'Grungy Christmas'
over at Stamps and Stencils this month.,
Julia our host this month would like us to step away from normal colours associated with Christmas
The expression on this Quirky Birds face, has me imagining him saying
'Bah Humbug' at all the pre-- Christmas hype we seem to get these days.
The base layers  are  Kraft card.

I wanted to make  a few of this style card, so sprayed  large white card A3 with Dylusions Calypso Teal and Amber and cut them to size.
Some were embossed using a Sheena  folder. I rubbed over the embossed wording with a distress ink pad, Salty Ocean.
The stamped images  [Tim Holtz ] were fussy cut and water coloured.

Thank you for calling to see me today, the comments you leave are always appreciated.

Its a box.

There is still another week for you to join us over at Try it on Tuesdays
for our challenge  theme of
 Bags and Boxes.
I have been making quick and easy cards this year,
not so many layers and embellishments for the ones that have to go in the post.
As you can see its a few torn edges layers, with a Tim Holtz stamped image which was water coloured.
A sprinkle of white Frantage powder and that's it, job done.

Thank you for stopping by to see me today. I always appreciate the comments you leave for me.

Wanted

Cowboys or Cowgirls
is the theme  this week at Dezinaworld  for June's Cheeky Challenge.
June also gave us an image to use if we wanted to.

My cowboy [using the free image]  is making a fast getaway out of town,
I think he has been up to no good in the saloon.
A digital collage using free to use images and a few from Mischief Circus kits
and put together in my Craft Studio.

Thank you for stopping by to see me today,
I always appreciate the comments you leave for me.

Happy Thanksgiving Day

Happy Thanksgiving Day.

A digital collage  using elements from Mischief Circus kits,
my own found  and stored  free images.

The boys seem to be in a bit of a flap today,
but Mary and Eva are only going to give them some corn,
before their mom calls them in for their
'Dinner' , a delicious  Nut Roast is cooking in the oven.
No need to run, you live with  a vegetarian family.

Will be adding this page to
the theme is inspirered by Autumn Colours,

Thank you for calling to see me
and if you are celebrating Thanksgiving I hope you are having a lovely day.

Its a Gift --Bags and Boxes challenge at TioT's

Time for another challenge theme over at Try it on Tuesdays
''Bags and Boxes''
Please pop over for all the details and see the fantastic inspiration from the team.

I love to recycle boxes , especially when needed to give with a gift.
This small box  came to me containing some delicious chocolate

Painted all over with white acrylics, then sprayed , with Dylusions, lemon zest. squeezed orange , just a small amount at this stage
Then  to add some texture a Tim Holtz stencil and modelling paste.
Stencilled round the edges using the same stencil and some spiced Marmalade distress ink

I have had these chipboard flowers for ages [? where they came from] .
These were painted with Pebeo Fantasy paints, water colour stems and a bit of dull glitter.

I added more colouring using the same sprays and highlighted the stencil with gold gilding wax.

So here is the box ready to go, with all the trimmings in place.

Thank you for stopping by to see me today, I appreciate all the comments you leave for me.

Free to roam

A digital page for the Cheeky Challenge over at
June has given the theme of Churchyards/Graveyard or Grave stones.
I decided not to go down to the dark side and make my page look light and peaceful.
Well that was before I couldn't help myself and added the tigercat,
would not like to meet one of these anywhere.
However  it does seem well trained as it walks beside its mistress.
I used some of my own stored images, free ones found on the net
and some from  Mischief Circus sets.

Thank you for taking time to stop by and see what I have been making.
I always appreciate the comments you leave.

.Boots on the roof for AJJ

A journal page using a mop up background  and a few pieces of left over die cuts,
a variety of stamps and a Clarity stencil.

I remembered to take a photo  at this stage,  by now the song
''These boots were made for walking'',
was humming around in my head..
Most of you know, we spent quite a number of weeks each year in our caravan. So, I can tell you when a large bird lands on the roof , you could often imagine it was jumping up and down wearing large boots like these.

My last version using the same page  had me adding some digital images [Mischief Circus] to the photograph  of the page.
This is Maurice ......
he does look as if the boots are too big for him, but with feet that size he feels he could conquer the world.

There is still another week for you to join the Create a Scene challenge over at
Try it on Tuesdays, all the information is here.

Also joining in again  at
inspired by the Colours of Autumn.

Thank you for stopping buy to see me today, the comments you leave me are always appreciated.

Paris

A journal spread, created with Paris in mind.
These past few days have effected many folk,
my heart goes out to the people who lost their loved ones
and those who were so very badly injured, with hope that time will aid their recovery.

A painted and stenciled page, some random stamps and a Dina Wakley bird.
I will add this page to
Autumn colours

Thank you for stopping by to see me today, your comments are always appreciated.

Sisters

A digital collage today for
where this weeks Cheeky Challenge theme is.... Sisters.
also
Moo-Mania and More the 100th challenge theme  is Crowns.

I had an imaginary story buzzing around in my head today, where  these two sisters dream about being Princesses. They were allowed to keep deer and  owls  as pets and to wear their crowns all day long.
The majority of these images come from Mischief Circus sets, the others were free from the net.

Thank you for stopping by, I realy appreciate the comments you leave for me.

I wonder what they are thinking

Some days you just have to get messy and inky and today was one of those days.
A time to create backgrounds and mop up spare ink from the craft mat.

the theme is Inspired by Autumn Colours
I cannot tell you the exact colours on these pages, but they do have the feeling of autumn for me.
I used a variety of stamped images Paper Artsy, Stampers Anonymous
and these fun cat images by Katzelkraft.

I wondered what these two could be thinking and remembered many years ago our family cat was a great one for catching mice and birds.
Now don't panic, she never killed them, but brought them into the house alive and kicking.
Presents for her family,
she never could understand that this was not good,
she  was never allowed further than the laundry room until we checked
she hadn't brought home an unwanted visitor.
The dog was no help either, just joined in the game of catch it quick.

So as you see the second version, with a few digital tweeks
has given the cats a couple of friends to play with.

Thank you for stopping by to see what I have beeen making, the comments you leave me are always appreciated.

A Christmas Scene

Create a Scene
is the new challenge theme over at Try it on Tuesdays.
The team have created an amazing variety of scenes,
please pop over to see them and get all the details.
Now as we are into November and I am just beginning to think seriously about
making  Christmas cards, I just had to use this winter scene image [Stampendous]

I stamped this onto plain white card using Watering Can -Ariondak ink pad.
Edged this with silver embossing powder and a hint of blue from an old ink pad.  Water coloured the Holly, then added some glitter for the snow, hard to get a photo, but you can just about see this if you click to enlarge the photo..

It is simply matted and layered, a couple were dry embossed using a Holly folder,
then shaded with  a variety of distress ink, silver and gold inks pads.

Thank you for calling to see me today,
the comments you leave are always appreciated.

Remembrance Sunday

Today is Remembrance Sunday here in the U.K..
This is a digital collage created in my Craft Studio.

In Remembrance of all the men and women in our world,
who  throughout the years,
 past and present,
 have  given their lives,
for the freedom and safety of others.

Halloween memories

Here we are in November and a new challenge begins over at Stamps and Stencils
The new theme has been chosen by Ruth and its called
'Remember, Remember'
we would like you to be inspired by your favourite memories.
Please pop over for all the details and she our memories.

So you may think this is late for Halloween, but at this time of the year
and a  'found relatives photo', {Tim Holtz]
it reminded me of  my boys when they were young,
  going out with their pumpkins,
to call at friends in the neighborhood.

This is how the page started, water colour base,
old book snippets and  pieces of mesh.

Some texture-- using Tim Holtz stencils and modelling paste
and a little random stamping
Now to begin adding more color, this time with distress inks.
I edges the photo with Frantage Embossing powder.
Stamped out some leaves [Stampers Anonymous]
then fussy cut them.

I used Gilding wax over the stencils , a variety of distress ink shades on the leaves .

This quote is from a Dylusions set of stamps and  I am sure express's  the feelings of many of us Mum's when we think of our children.

Over at Art Journal Journey
the theme for November is 'Inspired by Autumn Colours', so the boys are off to visit there as well.

Thank you for calling to see me today, I always appreciate the comments you leave for me.
