Happy T Day.
Tiny cakes, coffee and of course a cup of tea.
perhaps listen to some background music. sit with the computer and have
a visit to friends.
So, I am off to say hello to folk over at ..
where each Tuesday we are always welcome with a drinks related post.
My drink of choice when creating this journal page was a mug of cold water. I am not used to the continuous heat we have had for weeks now in the UK. Even when its been dull, its been hot.
I used my 8 x8 inch journal, distress inks for colour. A layer of music paper, pieces of torn napkins, a stencil, white gesso to create a lighter base before sticking down the cakes. Oh and a bit of random stamping
I am not a sewer, so the sewing round the coffee cup is a digital addition.
I will also be joining Bleubeard and Elizabeth who are hosting this months theme over at
which is...... Count your Blessing.
'Friends are the family we choose for ourselves'.
I feel blessed to have good friends,
here at home,
here at home,
as well as out there in Blogland.
Thank you for calling in to see me today, I hope you have a super day.
Wow! This is a lovely page - I agree with both of those statements! The colours along with those lovely napkin pieces really does look so good! Happy T Day! Chrisx
ReplyDeleteI can't believe you cut up one of those incredible napkins (GRIN). You certainly put it to excellent use. Your digital sewing is far superior to my real life sewing. I love the digital addition and spin you put on the coffee cup. It's an absolutely PERFECT addition to my theme at Art Journal Journey. Thanks so much for all your support, dear Yvonne. BTW, I love the sentiment, too.
ReplyDeleteIt's been really hot here, too, but most of us here in the states have air conditioning and are used to this heat. I know this is a rare event for you, so I pity you having to put up with and adjust to the heat. I couldn't figure out if that ice pick was to break up some ice, poke the chicken, or act as a visual detractor. Regardless, I still love your adorable chicken and your tea, too. Thanks for sharing your wonderful art and your tea with us for T this Tuesday. And of course, thank you, thank you, thank you for the wonderful package you sent me. I am VERY grateful, although I might not have said so earlier.
I forgot to mention that Chris, like my friend Joseph who talked me into putting Dr. on my checks, believe that since I did all the work to earn the degree, I need to acknowledge it. It's never been a big deal to me, but some people wear their Ph.D. or M.D. title like a badge of honor. Even though I don't make a big deal of it, I appreciate your use of it, anyway.
ReplyDeleteLovely journal page, Yvonne. I love all the colors and the transparency in your background.
ReplyDeleteHappy Tea Day,
Kate
This is a wonderful page Yvonne. It has been a hot summer here too, and wet a lot lately. I bet you are excited to be able to work a little more easily without your cast, and it must be cooler and more comfortable on your arm too. Enjoy your T day. Hugs-Erika
